Stayed Dec 31, 1969Chambord is a good, spacious, well appointed, clean apartment with the use of washing facilities. Suggest a small table and chairs would be more comfortable than two stools for a one week stay. A short distance to supermarket and restaurants. Must be quick for a car park. Over-all a very pleasant and comfortable stay.Well positioned for the many attractions. Geoff & Pam Cullen Australia

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Gite Chambord is a two roomed apartment in a refurbished old property. It combines an old-fashioned look (fireplaces and large windows) with a modern interior, cooker, dishwasher and sink in a central island, opposite a large fridge and cupboards and a very nice modern shower in the bedroom. Although the kitchen was good, it wasn't entirely practical as the power sockets were not conveniently situated with regards to where you plug in the kettle, a small inconvenience when staying in such a lovely old property. There was plenty of room for two of us, but I would think it a bit cramped for three adults. There are laundry facilities in the basement. Also the Wifi was a bit intermittent. We really enjoyed our stay in Chinon, the property is in the medieval part of town at the bottom of the castle next to a church. I would recommend the wine tasting offered in the various wine caves around the town.

Stayed Oct 7, 2016The apartment was perfect and in a great location for our stay in Chinon . We used it as a home base for day trips throughout the Loire Valley. I'd definitely recommend it!

Stayed May 9, 2016Nature and Castles is a gite with several suites. Our unit was very nicely renovated and decorated. It had a full and up-to-date kitchen and bathroom. Laundry facilities were available in the basement. It was comfortable, very clean and quite. There is parking but it is allocated on a first come, first served basis. The building is very old but has been carefully updated, maintained, and elegant. It is walking distance to everything. Agnes, the gite's owner, was welcoming and helpful. She took us through the apartment and was quick to respond to questions. This is a perfect place to stay for anyone visiting the Loire Valley's chateaus and vineyards. The town is charming. With narrow cobblestone streets, it’s interesting to walk around and has a number of good restaurants offering a variety of food in a range of prices. Joan of Arc and Rabelais are only two of its famous residents. Chinon sits just below the town’s ancient castle. Established as a hermitage (5th c.), the castle evolved to become home to Henry II (1154). On his death (1189), it passed to his and Eleanor of Aquitaine’s son Richard the Lionhearted. He passed it on to his brother King John of England.
