Experience the vintage charm of Pacific Grove while enjoying all the comfort and conveniences of the 21st century in this beautiful two-story, Victorian-style home.
Relax on the deck off the master bedroom, or outside on one of two front porches: you can spread out in this comfortable home with hardwood floors, a fireplace, and a unique sun tower at the top of the stairs. This den/office area, with a wet bar and under-counter refrigerator, is everyone's favorite place to read, chat, or just enjoy the view overlooking this charming neighborhood.
Cherry wood cabinets and a lovely tin ceiling add warmth and charm to the well-equipped kitchen, and the open floor plan can be zoned by doors separating the kitchen from the dining area and the living room from the entry way. An instant gas log fireplace in the living room adds ambiance while you enjoy a good book or a movie on cable TV/DVD (available in both the downstairs living room and the upstairs bedrooms).
All three bedrooms are carpeted and located on the second floor. The master bedroom, decorated in soft tones of rose and green, has a queen-size bed and a private bath with a stall shower. A second guestroom has a queen-size bed; the third has two twins. The guest bath features a tub/shower, and there's another half bath downstairs.
The location makes this Victorian-style home one of our most popular accommodations in Pacific Grove. Upon arrival, you may want to park your car in the spacious two-car garage and forget about it! Just a block from downtown, you are within easy walking distance of Pacific Grove’s quaint shops, restaurants, the Farmer's Market, and the scenic coastline recreation trail.
If you feel energetic, walk along the coastal trail to the world renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium, exactly one mile from the front door. Along the way, observe marine life - sea lions, seals, otters, and shorebirds. Also within easy walking distance: a grocery store, bakeries, library, post office, ice cream parlor, coffee shops, visitor's center, museum, movie theater, bookstore, parks, playground, and boutiques. (If you prefer, there is bus service just a block away that will take you to the Aquarium and Cannery Row, downtown Monterey and Asilomar Beach.)
If you are a golf enthusiast, bring your clubs! The Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Course is just a half mile away, and a short drive will take you to the world-famous links at Pebble Beach. Don’t miss the boutiques and galleries of Carmel, and on a sunny day, take Highway 1 down the coast to Big Sur. (Mmmm, lunch at Nepenthe... an Ambrosia Burger and a basket of their famous fries!).  Pacific Grove Transient Use License #0011

Such a comfortable space, well maintained and clean. Great location for a walk to Lovers Point, the beach and the town of Pacific Grove. It was centrally located to Monterey, 17 Mile Drive and a drive to Big Sur.

This place was great for a girlfriend trip. We loved the house for just hanging out and relaxing, and the location was perfect. We walked to breakfast at the Red House Cafe, and it was a short drive to the Monterey Aquarium and other points of interest. We would definitely stay here again!

This was a place to have a family get away. Close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Lover's Point, a very walkable area with cute beachy cottages and open spaces. I would definitely stay again. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable enough beds,(although I am kind of old and missed my own mattress)

The house was perfect for us. We had everything we needed. So happy to see new restaurants and pubs. We walked everywhere and enjoyed it all. PG is our favorite place to visit. We would definitely rent this house again. Cocktails on the upper deck was so nice. Playing cards at the dinning room table was so much fun. Thank s again

We enjoyed an extended ladies weekend at the Gingerbread House. It was only a 1 block walk to Lighthouse Av and the quaint shops and restaurants. We also used the house as our start/end point for a walk out to the Point Pinos Lighthouse along the walking trail near Ocean View Bl. The Gingerbread House is also walking distance to the Beach House Restaurant (highly recommend this restaurant). We loved the size of the house. The 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths were exactly as depicted in the photos. The kitchen, dining room and family/living room were all very spacious. The garage was very large and held a mini-van with plenty of space to get in/out easily. The house was clean and extra linens were easily accessible. We would stay here again.

This house was perfect! Beautiful property and it was right on the race course....the kids got to cheer me on from the front porch! We loved staying here and would absolutely recommend it to any family visiting the area. The garage and driveway made this an especially good choice for the neighborhood. made this

A group of my friends from grad school got together for continuing education and fun. The house was perfect for us with space to spread out even though we congregated around the dining table. A short walk to the beach and a short drive to the convention center. Had everything we needed in a great house and quiet neighborhood.

This is a wonderful place and the location is perfect. We walked to the Aquarium, monarch Sanctuary, Asilomar, museum of natural history, biked to Dennis the Menace park. Delicious restaurants and local bookstore and neighborhood park. Our second time here and we love this home!

Extremely clean, well stocked property in a very convenient location. Short walk to Lovers Point or Downtown restaurants and shops. Beautiful homes surrounding as well. Love the deck and office nook. Was slightly warm upstairs on arrival, but convenient upstairs windows provided great airflow and cooled the upper floor in a short time. Overall excellent experience.

My family and I planned a mini getaway before school to the Monterey Bay area for the first time from Southern California. From the start of our reservation, Michelle gave top-notch customer service! She was so pleasant to work with - I really enjoyed working with her! All communications related to our stay were sent out on time and the check-in and check-out process were very easy to follow. There were no over the top rules which made the whole process easy and enjoyable. We stayed 3 nights at the Gingerbread House in Pacific Grove and we had the best time! It was my husband and I, plus 2 teenagers so it was a treat to see their faces when they saw the house :-) The house was very charming and comfortable! At night we loved putting on the fireplace and relaxed watching movies and the Olympics as we winded down from a busy sight-seeing day. We loved the dining room and kitchen! We were so surprised at how big both rooms were. The bedrooms were also very comfortable and spacious! My husband and I loved drinking our morning coffee out on the balcony off of the master bedroom. Of course my teenagers loved their rooms as they spent a lot of time behind closed doors relaxing :-) The location of the house couldn't have been better! The house is walking distance to the beach and to downtown PG. On our last day we took the short walk to the Red House Cafe for a nice breakfast. The whole house was lovely, but the #1 thing we appreciated so much, was that the house had a driveway! We noticed not all the houses in the neighborhood had driveways and only had street parking. The fact that we had a driveway made parking so much easier! Overall we had a fabulous time and hope to stay at The Gingerbread House again on our next visit to Pacific Grove!

This rental was outstanding. The house was beautiful, close to everything, including excellent restaurants and the Aquarium. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment and the furniture was comfortable. We would definitely rent this house again. A few suggestions that did not affect our delight with the house: 1. The towels were plush, but badly snagged, with threads hanging all over them. 2. The sink handles need to be tightened in all bathrooms. 3. We really, really wanted to know more about the history of this lovely house.

The house was spacious, comfortable, and two blocks from the beach. We saw otters swimming in the ocean every day and walked to the marine sanctuary to watch the seals. Coffee shop and restaurants were two blocks in the opposite direction. The neighborhood was quiet, too. I absolutely fell in love with Pacific Grove and was so happy we stayed there instead of Carmel or Monterey. Sleepy beach towns are the best.
