Gettysburg Retreat Best place to stay in Gettysburg! Pre-Civil War Home

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and it had everything that you needed. I had an excellent communication with the owner and I really recommend this house and you'll enjoy your stay for sure. A++++++++

Perfect location. The house was charming, private and well equipped. We had a comfortable stay. Good beds and showers and well furnished kitchen. The owner communicated very well. Definitely recommend for a nice long weekend in Gettysburg.

Nothing but great things to say about the host and the house. Great communication with the host from beginning to end. The home was very clean, welcoming and everything was there for us. From the moment we stepped into the property, we felt like we were at home. The booking process was simple, the description was spot on and the parking was accommodating. The home was located in the heart of things in downtown Gettysburg and within walking distance of so many things. I would highly recommend checking this home out if you’re heading to Gettysburg … not one bad thing to say. We are already talking about doing it again next year.

Great property in an ideal location. Within walking distance to most bars/restaurants and shopping. First floor bedroom was an added bonus for my elderly parents.

The home is clean and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen, period decor, and room to spread out. It's within walking distance of many shops, bars, restaurants and Gettysburg curiosities. The grocery store across the street is convenient. And the dedicated parking is appreciated.

We had six people stay at the house and had plenty of room for all of us to fit comfortably. The house is fully furnished, very close to all the shops and restaurants, and has a convenient grocery store across the street. We enjoyed all of the Civil War relics, books, and photos that are placed in the house. Communication with Sandee was excellent and the process to check in and out was great. I would recommend the Gettysburg retreat if you are looking for a civil war era home that is clean, spacious, and convenient to the downtown area.

The house is super clean and stocked with everything needed. Plenty of room for me, my husband and our 3 adult children and my daughter in law. Walkable to everything Civil War….park and walk!!! Fabulous!! Highly recommend!!

The house is amazing. Perfectly decorated with an extensive library and dvd collection about Gettysburg and the civil war. The location is great too, easy walking distance to the square. Also, a supermarket right across the street. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Property was very clean. It was interesting staying in a property that was there during the civil war. It some ways it was like living in a museum with all the antiques and civil war related reading material.

The location is fantastic. Everything in town is within walking distance. We stayed for a week during Thanksgiving, then came back a few weeks later to stay during the Christmas holiday. While we were away Sandee decorated for Christmas which was wonderful. Comminication was easy and quick.

Loved the house. Location is perfect for us . One suggestion, is to have small separate hooks for hand towels especially for the downstairs bathroom. Overall we just love the house!

Had a great time at the Gettysburg retreat. I would like to thank the owners for letting us stay at their home for the weekend. They were great to work with their home is very accommodating just one block from the center of downtown Gettysburg And all the main attractions. Would recommend staying at the Gettysburg retreat to anyone plan on going back in the spring.

We really enjoyed the home. The cleanliness, roominess and location were wonderful. We are monthly visitors to Gettysburg and just love this town. Have stayed in multiple homes and this one was appreciated.

This is a beautifully historic home. Though it's on a busy corner with a traffic light, there is almost no traffic noise. The house is clean and well equipped with everything people would want on a vacation. The decor is spectacular. People can walk to many of the Gettysburg sites, and a grocery store is across the street.

It is so hard to get my children and their spouses together because of work. So we planned this visit as a mini vacation. The accommodation was perfect, gave us time to explore Gettysburg and spend time together.
