The place was perfect and the owners very friendly. It is a nice, central location for the outdoor recreation available in the area.

We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable and cozy apartment. We cooked, relaxed, and skied out the front door. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed to make a nice meal and the living area was very comfortable. All in all, a very peaceful and relaxing getaway!

This was the perfect home base for a quick two-night trip. The location couldn't have been better—we loved being so close to the hiking trails and getting outside right away! After a long day of hiking, the comfortable beds and cozy space were exactly what we needed to relax. Highly recommend this property.

Beautiful location, nice hosts

Overall really great stay. House is in an excellent location near tons of hiking spots. Kitchen is well stocked. Very clean. Only minor critiques are that beds are not very comfortable and the unit is a little closer to the owner's house than expected.

The location was bar none the best place we could have landed in the Canaan Valley. Beautiful in every direction, great hiking, and great food.

My first visit to West VA. What a great rental, so clean and comfortable, dog friendly, close to shops, hiking, pubs and restaurants in Davis. The owner couldn't have been more friendly. We had a great bonfire, cooked on the grill, walked the trails and walked to the beautiful creek right on the property. Only good things to say about THE Garagemahal! Beautiful area!

We had a great stay at the Garagemahal. It was perfect for us: clean, quiet, walking distance to White Grass and a nature preserve. It had everything we needed and is in a beautiful setting. We hope to return one day for more skiing and hiking.

the location was perfect, however we were not alone on property the owners are a stones throw away. they have elderly dogs that roam the property which caused a slight issue with us. nice parks close to hike and walk loved the area

Lovely secluded property close to Dolly Sods, US Wildlife areas, Monongahela National Forest, Seneca Rocks and many other trails. The owners, Chip and Laurie were perfect hosts. The GarageMahal had all the things needed for a home away from home. If you need to get away to refuel this is an awesome quiet location. Highly recommended.

This was a beautiful cabin and the location was perfect. Easy communication with owners and spoke with them in person a couple times. Would highly recommend for anyone going to the area of Davis WV. Cabin was furnished with everything you need and was spotless! Our Dogs also loved the large yard and secluded area and many dog friendly hiking trails nearby.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. Very clean and homey. There's a great fire pit area out back. Sadly, we did not get to use it because it was VERY windy this weekend. The kitchen has everything you could ever need. Close to Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley everythingChip was very responsive and helpful when i called him about a minor issue with the stove and we had a nice chat with him on our way out. The best part was being able to take our Golden Retriever with us. We look forward to staying here again in the future!We look forw

We stayed over a long weekend and very much enjoyed the place and our stay. The property is spacious, pleasant, fully equipped and super clean. Location is excellent for outdoor activities. Nice and responsive hosts. We hope to stay at this place again!

The property is amazing. It is the perfect cabin for a small family. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful hiking trails. The inside was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed for the week. They even include a sofa cover if you are bringing your doggy. Perfect location for activities in Canaan, Davis, Thomas, Spruce Knob….Chip and Laurie respond to messages quickly. Our child became very ill the night before check out and Laurie was understanding and compassionate that we could not complete the check out list. We definitely plan to return. Thank you Chip and Laurie for sharing your slice of Almost Heaven with us.

We stayed here for a weekend in March with our kids (5 & 8) and had a blast. It's a great spot with lots of land to explore. We found some really cool waterfalls behind the house in the woods. The snow season was over so we missed XC skiing but we definitely will be back. Close to Blackwater Falls park and the town of Davis.

We enjoyed how well appointed the kitchen is and how many “little touches” like soaps, cleaning supplies, toilet paper etc. were supplied. Very quiet quality time for our family including our terrier.

As a VRBO owner, I appreciated the cleanliness and appointments. Everything you might need, toiletries and kitchen equipment, all neatly arranged. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Mary Ann and Jared

Clean, spacious, open concept space with two bedrooms, both with a queen bed. One has a twin bed and sheets in closet! Basic but high quality cookware to use, which is always a plus! Easy communications with Chip and Laurie, such kind people!!! The ideal location for XC skiing! Honestly, cannot beat it. Felt like the luckiest people all weekend!

Can’t say enough good things about this place or the owners. It was exactly what we could have hoped for and it’s so close to great recreation and nature.

A friend and I rendezvoused in the Canaan Valley in early November to hike in the nearby Dolly Sods and other trails in the area. Garagemahal was exactly as advertised: clean, quiet, spacious (for two people), and conveniently located. The owners/managers (Chip and Laurie), who live across the driveway, were friendly and available to provide information or report problems to (there weren't any), but were otherwise unobtrusive. We will return.

Very quiet and lovely woods for hiking. Only thing that could have made it better was if the table for eating could better accommodate four people.

The apartment was very comfortable and provided everything we needed. It was in a wonderful location off the beaten path, with great views and quiet privacy. And the area of West Virginia was beautiful!

We went to get away from it all. It was quiet, comfortable and had everything you could want. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather for the entire week. We did some day trips, sightseeing type things, but always happy to come back to our little cabin in the woods.

This was a great place to stay—we loved it. Location was perfect—close to a number of great hikes and experiences. The space was charming. It had everything we needed and was incredibly clean. We would stay here again. Clear instructions from the hosts, easy parking; and easy with a young kid.

Highly recommend this rental. This was by far the cleanest place that we have ever stayed. Our wonderful hosts provided all the amenities that made it like we were staying at home. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathroom had plenty of towels. Our dog was welcomed and he appeared to be happy there as well. All of the area attractions are within a short drive. There are even trails on the property to explore. We will come back again.

This was the perfect 3-night family getaway for our family! We drove from PA and our daughter met us there from KY. We enjoyed Seneca Rocks (about 30-min away) and Glade cave in VA (2-hr drive). The owners of this home have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay the MOST enjoyable! The home is updated, extremely clean, and well very organized. The owners had excellent communication throughout with very clear instructions hanging on fridge upon arrival. The bath towels are big & soft and the sheets & quilts were so cozy! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need! The location is quiet and relaxing. Despite our rainy weather for 2 of the 3 days, we still had a fabulous time at our Home Away From Home. Trust us, you will not regret your stay here at the Garagemahal (and we still chuckle at the name). Love it!
