Other things to note
The Chalet is a 0.5 mile drive up the mountain from town. The road requires 4WD in the winter. Snowy conditions are unpredictable and there are NO REFUNDS for weather conditions as you are agreeing to book a mountain cabin during winter months.
Basic items like linens, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, coffee (keurig and pot), soap, dish soap, dishwasher and laundry detergent, gas tanks (may need to be filled...thank you for that!) are all provided!
This home was wonderful. Host is very responsive and easy to communicate with. We loved the home. What a nice little place.
We had a fantastic time during our stay at the chalet in Burnsville through Vrbo! The house provided ample space a great kitchen, making it easy and enjoyable for us to prepare meals. Sitting on the porch with the beautiful views was relaxing, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The chalet's location close to a wonderful town was a big plus. We loved exploring the area and were delighted to find two great restaurants nearby. Appalachian Trail Java served up delicious baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee, while Rio offered authentic and tasty Mexican food. Additionally, we had the pleasure of experiencing an incredible facial by Renne Lindernax at Jill’s hairport salon right in town . Her expertise and dedication truly went the extra mile, and we left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Lastly, a special thank you to Beth for her hospitality during our stay at the chalet. We highly recommend this vacation rental for anyone looking to have a wonderful time in Burnsville! Denise and gang nyc
The Vacay Chalet is perfectly appointed, uniquely welcoming and oh so lovely. Beth was incredibly attentive from the booking through the stay. The house is amazingly equipped for families, but also perfect for a girls weekend. Close to everything but tucked away in solitude—The Vacay Chalet is the place to stay in Burnsville.
I do have one recommendation. My husband and I are elderly and have issues with our backs and legs. We can do stairs as long as we go slow and use the railings. There are no railings for the lower steps coming up from the parking pad to the deck. A railing on both dides is ideal. But railing on one side in combination with a cane is doable. We loved your place and it was perfect for us and our group, other than the railings. We look forward to coming back!
The cabin is older but in good condition. We had a good time for a couple nights. Overall it was clean and as advertised except the basement pool and ping pong tables are miniature and too cold in winter - a space heater does not work in converted garage. Also, it is located on steep hill so it would be a problem if there is snow.
We really enjoyed the Vacay Chalet. It has everything you need in a great location. Both inside and outside exceeded our expectations. They really thought of everything and it was perfect for our group.
Very clean . Close to town. Would rent again
A couple of old friends and I stayed at this property over a long weekend in October. The location was very nice, close to town but quiet. The house itself was very clean and quite nice on both the inside and out. Many things to keep us all entertained and also very nice places to hang outside. We will definitely be coming back!
Six friends (aged mid-30s to 70) met to celebrate Lynn's upcoming wedding. We enjoyed the whimsical decor and the wooded setting. We were close to town (and Burnsville is adorable!), but it didn't feel like it. Two small complaints--the lack of kitchen towels (we could find only one) and the inadequate supply of toilet paper. Six women need more than 2 full and 2 partial rolls for three nights.
The house is quirky in all the right ways. It's cozy but you never feel cramped. It's fun and comfortable. There are humorous little touches. It's just off a main road so it's easy to get places, but you still feel secluded in the woods. The Matrix bathroom is accurate and most preferred to use the downstairs bathroom but it is a second toilet that, with six people staying there, is vital. I'd book this again in a heartbeat.
