Game Room & Private Pool: Richardson Retreat

Rooms were clean, the hot tub was amazing and the kitchen had all essentials needed.

The house was big and beautiful. The pool was amazing. Maintenance could be better as there were paint chippings everywhere including the cub boards., baseboards, stairs. Wall is peeling by the living room window. Lights were missing in the hot tub. Other than that I loved this house. I will stay here again

Hot tub was great!

Location was convenient. The space for a large family was great. The management/caretaker communication was easy. They accommodated a last minute need for us. Otherwise, this house needs a lot of attention. Pictures don’t show the wear and tear. There are some plumbing and electrical repairs needed to be done as well as some cosmetic repairs needed. All was reported and responded to.

Overall it was good.

Poorly cleaned, spa area is filthy. Ants all over counter upon arrival, host told us to go buy spray and traps, we’d be reimbursed. No instruction book for spa or WIFI, had to ask for info. Remotes missing from various tv’s, we still enjoyed our time with family but not at all what we anticipated. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s across the country this was by far our worst experience. Disappointed for sure. Jason

House needs attention! Cleaning crews do the bare minimum. Electrical issues throughout, MANY lights do not work, sewer backup on main floor. Lawn not maintained upon arrival.

We had a group use this property while in town for a conference. It was great to have all of the private bedrooms as well as a common area to debrief their time at the conference. They also used the kitchen to prepare breakfast for several days. While the property was as listed, they were disappointed that it wasn't as clean as they would have expected. They had trouble with the door code when they arrived, but the property manager was able to give them a different code to use.

(Back story) My siblings and I meet up once a year and this year we decided to do it for our mother’s 60th birthday. There were 5 adults 7 kids from the age of 4 to 15.. I planned out an itinerary for my family. This kids live up north so where they come from it’s cold. They wanted a pool! And game room!! I booked just that. Making sure my nephews and nieces have a pool day Saturday and we do pictures Sunday and game night. Upon arrival property was not clean and nice as the listing looked. On the outside of garage there were boards with nails sticking out of them. One of the kids stepped on it after trying to get something out the car, the nail went through the shoe and was bleeding. The house was not clean. The bathrooms still had hair on the sink from other people. The pool was filthy when I reached out to HOST and let them know about my concerns the Host answered a few of the questions like the code to the front door and WiFi password but basically ignored the rest of the questions and didn’t do what they told me that they were gonna do like send the pool company over Saturday to clean the pool.

The home is nice and in a nice neighborhood. There is some upkeep to the property that is needed. I had to fix the toilet seat as it was ready to slide off, there are no kitchen towels or dishrags to use. The coffee pot and machine had mold in it, yuck. the drawers are falling out of the cabinets. I would have someone get the hot tub ready for the guests arrival, rather then the guest having to call and be walked through the set up. The pool could not be used because it was so dirty. I've stayed at places that had maintenance man pop in daily to clean the pool, so the guests could use the pool if they liked. The beds and pillows could be updated for comfort. And every bedroom should have TV;s **Many VRBO homes have a binder with all the information and instructions for the guests is extremely helpful. This way ALL of the guests have the same information about the home, such as WiFi password, TV instructions and channel line ups etc. Also nice to have some local information, such as Favorite eateries and local hot spots or must see type of information for the area is always nice for visitors. The binder can have all the contact info needed etc. any and all of the instructions for the check in and check out information. I will say that the communication was quick when I did need assistance though People replied quickly when contacted. We enjoyed our visit to Tx all in all and the home was accommodating for the size of family we had to all be together.

Short and simple- it was amazing!

Setting & Location was wonderful - we were a little disappointed in maintenance of kitchen equipment- dishwasher never worked even tho they sent repairman who worked on it 2 hrs. Pretty poor quality utensils, pans, etc. Somewhat difficult to reach host.

The house was clean but several things needed to be upgraded. For example—family members were looking forward to the hot tub. It never got hot, only Luke warm. Dishwasher did not drain/clean properly. There were 10 adults in our group snd there was a total of 5 washcloths in the bathrooms

Overall the stay was relaxing and and we had a great time.

Beautiful home. We traveled from Florida for a woman’s conference and we had a great experience.

This home was clean and ready to go when we got there. The pool was crystal clear. I have zero complaints. This home worked great for our stay.

We enjoyed the house! The pool was amazing; as well as the jacuzzi! Everything was very clean. It would be an option if we returned to Richardson for another stay!

This is an interesting home. Other reviewers mentioned problems with the light over the hot tub; there is a GFCI outlet to the left of the tub that trips sometimes and if you reset it the lights work fine. The bubbler in the hot tub did not work but the pump did. There is a small electrical box on the wall outside toward the pool that has a switch that turns on the pump, which is also necessary for heat. The water was clear on arrival but the treatment tablets ran out and it got cloudy. We were able to reach the property owner who referred us to the hot tub tech but we figured it all out by the time they got back to us. We stayed 4 nights there and I'd do it again. It was a pretty cool place for a larger group. There were 9 in my family, and even at the price listed it was better than hotels for us, even more so since you can cook there rather than going out to eat.
