We felt right at home at the property. It is the kind of place we could see ourselves living. If we stay near Shelton again we will probably return!

This was a great getaway! The owner made us feel welcomed right away. The views are fantastic and we saw interesting wildlife everyday (seals, sea otter, a large number of water birds, deer, and all the beach creatures!). The owner even allowed us to enjoy fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits from her gardens. The home is very accommodating, plenty of whatever you need. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we extended our stay an extra week!

Such a wonderful experience! The house is filled with supplies to make our stay fun, from kayaks to board games to craft supplies to barbecue grill. The house layout made it possible for us to gather, then go do some alone time. The temperature shot up outside during our stay, but stayed just fine inside with minimal a/c. JC is a terrific host. Highly recommend!

House was nice. The owner is in the middle of upgrading a few things, but everything worked and she is very responsive and friendly. We would dependently say here again.

I saw the review that there was only 1 roll of paper. To that person, you didn't look. ANYTHING and everything is already there. We forgot syrup for our pancakes, no running to store. it was already there. There was everything you need, even clothes. She had kites! We didn't need a lot. The dogs had great fun in the ocean and exploring the yard. If you have a beagle not a great place for you; however, everyone else the dogs love smelling all the stuff in the yard and on our walks. The sun deck was where we spent a lot of time. Nice breeze, see it all and pups on the couch and floor. JC is so lovely! The Neighbors were friendly and giving advice. There are grocery stores near by, but you won't likely need them. It was fun playing in the water and seeing the sea otter and seals. JC called to tell us to see an Orca, but we misseed it. I really hope we get to go again soon.

We had a quick trip to this home. The view from the home is beautiful, and JC is so communicative and made sure we had any questions answered. She also very generously told us we could check in any time and check out anytime. We felt like we had a lot of flexibility which was very nice. She is the best host I’ve interacted with by far! While JC is very nice, the house itself is the reason I’m leaving 3 stars. The house is very full of things - and felt cluttered to us. We also noticed the water has a funny smell and didn’t feel great showering in it. One of the beds as well was very lumpy - it was difficult to sleep on. The rest of the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had lots of tools and pots and pans to cook with. We found a syringe on top of the fridge - it looked like an insulin syringe that someone left behind. The coffee pot also had old coffee in it. We cleaned it with vinegar which was available in the kitchen. It just made us feel like maybe it wasn’t cleaned as thoroughly as it could be. Overall the house was close to family which is what we needed. I think it would be great for a family with all the crafts available. Just not quite what we expected from reading all the other reviews.

We had 6 people in our group and the house easily accommodated us. We did not feel like we were squished. JC was a great and thoughtful host and communicated so well. She really made me feel that it was important to her that out stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. The house has everything you could possibly need or needed and didn’t know you needed . Plenty of dishes and utensils for large groups. We were able to use the kayaks while we were there. There is even a craft area that JC made sure to show my 11 yo daughter :). The bed I slept in was fine but my other guest didn’t think they were very comfortable. The WiFi is not great. We couldn’t use our phones when in the bedrooms and when using the streaming services on the t.v’s to watch movies, the movies would stop and load every few minutes. The telescope, mentioned in the description, was unfortunately broken. A couple people from my group did get to see some otters enjoying their breakfast of clams and we did find some hermit crabs while walking the beach. This isn’t a beach where you can bring a towel and lay it down kind of beach. The tide brings the water all the way to the house edge and when it goes out is it a beach of rocks, clams and oysters. JC offered to show us how to dig clams! Overall it was a nice vacation. Thank you JC for a lovely stay :)

This home was perfectly suited to our needs. It is very close to downtown Shelton and restaurants while being beautifully situated along Oakland Bay. My siblings and I convened here from California and Oregon to assist aging parents with assorted projects. Sadly, we weren’t able to enjoy the property during the daytime or partake in any waterfront adventures, but we sure did enjoy the view in the evenings as we decompressed from our long days of hard work. The vegetable garden/s KC has cultivated are very impressive and the beautiful bowl of produce freshly picked and left for our use was a very special touch. A couple of the beds have seen better years, but we were all able to find a spot to sleep comfortably. KC was extremely responsive and helpful, though we were largely self-sufficient given that we were familiar with the area and have several family members who live nearby.

We have stayed at multiple VRBO properties over the last few years and without exception the interaction with the property owner and friendly home type environment set us at ease. Plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean relaxing environment.

We chose this location due to its proximity to everything we wanted to do. It really is centered between Seattle, Mt. Rainer, the Pacific Ocean and Olympic mtns all while enjoying the beautiful view of Oakland bay. JC is a very generous host that makes sure you have all you need for an enjoyable stay.
