Catonsville, Maryland
Fox Cottage is a modern addition to our 115 year old Victorian home. It’s a One Bedroom with a Queen size mattress & memory foam topper. There is also a Loft with a Full Size Memory Foam Mattress. The loft is a cozy space accessible by a vintage wooden ladder. There is an outdoor seating area with a Chimenea to light a fire, enjoy a cup of coffee or wine, work or just listen to the birds. Smoking IS permitted in this outdoor space but NOT permitted inside the cottage. Sorry NO PARTIES!
What amenities do you offer
Our Coffee Bar has a K Cup, French Press, & traditional drip coffee maker. For the Tea lovers there is loose & bagged tea with an electric tea kettle. The space also has a Wine & Mini Fridge, Stove, Microwave, Plates, Utensils & Cooking Gadgets.
Please note the Full Size bed is in a loft that is accessible by a vintage ladder. While kids and kids at heart love it’s not an easily accessible space for anyone with mobility issues. The Loft is in our pictures if you’d like to see how to access it.
For your entertainment we offer free Internet and Netflix as well as a Record Player with vintage records to explore.
Can I bring my Pet
We are PET FRIENDLY. NO restrictions or Pet Fee. We have 3 dogs on the property (and sometimes fosters) but you have your own private path to the cottage that also has its own vintage wrought iron fence. Please do NOT allow your animals on our side of the fence for everyone’s safety. Even though our dogs are friendly and your pet may be, sometimes personalities and energy levels don’t mix. Please do not bother the deer and foxes that frequent the field behind the cottage.
We offer pet sitting for an additional fee of $25/day and the name of our personal pet sitter if we’re not available. That includes 3 visits a day to feed, walk and give lots attention.
What about Parking and Security
There is off street parking and keyless entry. Please note there is a 200 FEET woodland like path to get to the cottage. The path is lit and there are 2 flood lights for visibility at night. The floodlight at the Cottage is also a camera for everyone’s safety and points down the path of the entrance. We value our guests privacy! Unfortunately, we are not handicap accessible.
What's around town
We’re 5 Mins from the 16k acre Patapsco State Park with 200 miles of trails. Recreational activities include hiking, fishing, camping, canoeing, horseback and mountain bike trails. Bring a picnic & explore the trails and waterfalls!
The historic Ellicott City is 10 Mins away driving or walk the Trolley Trail. Established in 1772 as a Mill town there is still a stream that runs under the shops and restaurants. It’s also the home oldest standing railroad station in the country that still has a 1927 Caboose. Built in 1831 it was B&O’s first 13 miles of train tracks in the US.
The Inner Harbor is 15 Mins as well as BWI Airport & the Train station.
We’re 45 mins from DC & Annapolis.
There’s also a small park across the main road with a playground, tennis courts and walking trails.
Details are sometimes less important than an overriding main objective. I have 2 special needs dogs & a sick husband. We relocated our family to Fox Cottage for an extended stay to accommodate all 3. Proximity to Johns Hopkins was the driving consideration. Short version, life threatening complications resulted. Hospitalization was prolonged, & I extended our stay. I spent the majority of my time alone at Fox Cottage with my dogs. I traveled back & forth to Hopkins. Stacy let me know she was there if I needed anything. She wisely gave me space to navigate the unanticipated circumstances that befell us without intrusion while providing an environment that meant more to my family than temporary housing. If your time there is pleasure oriented or dog centric, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. For myself & my family it will always be home away from home.
We loved our stay at Fox Cottage! It’s perfect if you’re traveling with your dog. The neighborhood is very nice and safe to go for a walk. We were very comfortable in the cute cottage, it met all our needs.
We had a great time. We would definitely stay here again. Worked perfect for us and our pup.
Property was perfect. Just as listed.
Enjoyed
I travel to competitions with my 3 border collies. Staying at the cottage, we all get a good night's sleep and are at our best the next day. The dogs are able to go outside to do their business off lead which makes things so much easier. I will be back next time I am in the area!
Place is as described. Clean and comfortable in a very nice neighborhood. Wish we had more time to enjoy it. Thanks for the little extras. Great hosts!
We visited the area for dental appointments and we travel with our dog. It was the perfect place to stay for our trip and we plan on returning if there is an opening when our next dental appointments are scheduled. The guest house had everything we needed and was extremely clean. The couch was so comfortable it felt like being home. Very close to grocery stores and places to eat. We enjoyed our stay- thank you for hosting us.
Amazing the best property i have been at
This cozy, beautifully designed unit was the perfect stay! The fully stocked kitchen, comfortable couch and gorgeous interior design made us feel like we were at home!
We were attending a wedding locally and needed to bring our dogs. This was a perfect location for us in a great pet-friendly neighborhood. We appreciated all of the amenities the cottage offered.
We had a group of 4 adults and enjoyed our one night stay! We loved how quiet the cottage was as well as the front outdoor area with the chiminea. The cottage was nicely decorated and had thoughtful touches for guests. The host was easy to communicate with. We would stay here again!
