This little cabin is an original Bay cabin that has been well cared for. It is full of original artwork and photographs, many done by our local Gulf Coast artists. The property is located on Bon Secour Bay which is across the street ( .5 mi) from the beautiful sugar sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico. It is the only dog friendly beach on the Fort Morgan Peninsula. Well behaved, leashed dogs, with responsible owners are welcome! We are 10 miles from downtown Gulf Shores, where you can finda zoo, amusement parks, live music, tons of restaurants, miniature golf, souvenir shops, etc. There is also an outlet center nearby in Foley if you want to shop! A boat ramp is just up the road to put in your small boat or jetski. Or put your kyack in right over the sea wall! There is a kayak rental place down the street which will deliver.

The washer and dryer are located up in the shed with beach chairs and toys. The cottage has a large screened porch with a large picnic table. It is the perfect place to pick some crabs and shell some peas, and watch the kids try to catch fish or crabs on the pier in the shallow waters of the bay. If you are looking for an old fashioned beach vacation, near attractions, but off the beaten, this is the place for you to unwind after a day at the beach. Hang your towels on the clothesline, rinse off under the outdoor shower, then relax under the ceiling fan on the porch which is shaded with trees laden with Spanish moss. Just a perfect romantic getaway or for a couple or a family with small children.

Family owned property since the 1950's: I purchased this property from my mom in 2004. My stepdad was a professor at University of Alabama built 'the cabin' when he wasn't fishing! In 2005 I put a new roof on it, updated electric, put in a heat pump, and covered it with hardiplank. Although it still retains its charm, it is more energy efficient! Two flat screen tv's. As of January 2019 the cabin has new countertops, new tile floor, and a fresh coat of paint.

Golf: The Peninsula Golf Club and Kiva Dunes are located just down the road.
Other local courses include Pure Palmer Golf at Craft Farms, Cotton Creek, and Cypress Bend.

Outlet Shopping: Ten miles north of Gulf Shores in Foley, Alabama the Tanger Outlet Center features 120 name brand shopping options for the bargain hunter. Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Osh Kosh, SAS, Gap, Banana Republic, Anne Klein, and more.

The City of Gulf Shores has a recreation center with daily, weekly, or monthly rates. It features an indoor temperature controlled swimming pool, basketball courts, fitness room, There is also a really nice playground near town, even a doggy park!

Kayak, Jet Ski and Pontoon Boat Rentals near by. Dolphin cruises, Historic Fort Morgan is at the end of our peninsula. FISHING is everywhere!

There is also a Sauropod 🦕 footprint on the property given to me by an archeologist. He made an imprint of it in central Texas!

We loved staying at Debbie’s cottage. It was well-equipped with everything a family would need from a beach excursion to a picnic to watching the sun rise and set from the porch or dock. Debbie even had water in a dog dish for when we arrived with our springer. The cottage is full of happy memories of times spent over generations. We loved our time spent at Debbie’s cottage!

We had everything that we needed at the cabin. The cabin was well prepared, cozy and relaxing. Our host was easy to communicate with and told us some good places to eat and things to do in the area. We would definitely come back!

Sweet Home Alabama greeted us as we walked into a rest stop in our home state. This phrase perfectly describes the Fort Morgan Waterfront Bay Cabin we called home for two weeks! Filled with wonderful art work and books, this cabin immediately felt like home. The large attached screen porch overlooking the bay was PERFECT! The quiet road on which the cabin sits provided a convenient place to walk our dog. Longer walks along Fort Morgan beach were within a 3 minute drive. We were always delighted to come home to our place on the bay after a day of biking or exploring. Debbie is a hostess with the most-est. She radiates Southern Hospitality. Staying in her cabin was a highlight of what is a very memorable vacation!

This property was right up our alley. Debbie was great to work with and very responsive to all of our questions. Excellent property and definitely a hidden gem in the Fort Morgan area. We would highly recommend anyone looking to get away from the chaos that is in Gulf Shores and enjoy this oasis tucked away from the crowds.

We loved this cabin & would definitely stay again. It is secluded while not being far from beach activities. The beach itself was very close. The owner was extremely kind, thorough, & communicative. Lots of wildlife all around. The history of the cabin, art, & decor was unique & homey- you could feel the love!

We have not stayed on the bay side before but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The kitchen is small but has everything you could think of- I brought some spices and a couple of my knives. We stayed for 12 days and ate out some but mostly I cooked fresh seafood and Ben grilled out steaks. There is even the ability to plug in your EV in the laundry room. Huge plus for Tesla owners ! Bring bug spray- there are mosquitos and yellow files that can bite you. The pups had a great time and the closeness of the beach was fantastic. Short drive and most of the time there were only a handful of people out on the beach. Debbie was kind enough to have great beach chairs and umbrella so we are taking our large beach canopy back to Walmart as it was not needed. The sunrises and sunsets were perfect. We saw dolphins and jumping fish. This is most excellent when paired with your favorite person and pups. The dogs felt safe and secure. We spent tons of time on the screened in porch . Loved all the fun lights - made it special. Also enjoyed all the art and fun things to look at. Bathroom is tiny but the shower and tub are great. Lots of hot water and good pressure. Super fantastic getting to meet Debbie as she is precious and gracious. We usually are super busy all the time so having downtime to relax and watch the waves and waters was exactly what we needed. We never even watched TV. The water was much more interesting. Did do some reading on the porch. Main bed was super comfy. Enjoy!

The Cabin is small, but well appointed with a wonderful screened in porch that faces the bay-perfect place to relax whether it’s raining or sunny. The cabin is located across the street from one of the best beaches in the area, so you have the best of both worlds in one location. The owner, Debbie, responds immediately about any questions. I wouldn’t be surprised if we return.
