The location speaks for itself The owner is a warm welcoming chap who went out of his way to assist and provided invaluable local knowledge without even meeting him The area is rich with great things to do and and drink The local restaurants are moderately priced and very honest My wife, two daughters and I have had a really relaxing enjoyable three weeks that we did not want to end Please try the beaches at anglet and the local horse riding and white water rafting amongst so many other things We will return Bruce

Firstly, we say thank you to Louis for a warm welcome and for being a fabulous host, with wine and cakes ready for us when we arrived. He was very helpful when we had questions and got back to us very quickly. We all enjoyed a wonderful 2 weeks in the property. The house is well equipped and just as described, with a lovely river at the bottom of the garden and a waterfall which really comes to life after the rain. The kids especially enjoyed having the large room upstairs all to themselves and use of the pool, which comfortably accommodated all 10 of us. The ceiling fans in all the bedrooms were a lifesaver in the hot weather too. The house is well situated for many attractions, we visted the bear park, zoo d'asson and the Grottes de Betharram, all well within an hour away, and if you don't mind heights, a visit to Le Petit Train d'Artouste is a must for fabulous veiws of the Pyrenees. You could even have a day trip to Spain you're so close. There are also good walks nearby, with the Col de Maire Blanc just up the road. Any chocolate lovers can stock up in the Lindt factory shop in Oloron where there are plenty of goodies to be had. All in all, highly recommended.
