Former home of the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

Our stay in one word: WONDERFUL. I can't begin to say how fabulous our vacation was at Casa Cortez in Cabo Bello. First of all our host/property manager was so terrific I don't know what we would have done without her. Her name is Maricarmen and she was helpful in so many ways and would do anything to make our stay perfect, really going above and beyond what was expected. The property itself was breathtaking and even looked better than the pictures! The house was pristine and we felt like Royalty staying there for 7 days. There was a housekeeper who came everyday and did dishes, laundry, made beds, it was so great. It was like living in a 5 star hotel but better! When we arrived Maricarmen greeted us. We had been in touch a few months before our stay and she was incredibly helpful even then. We gave her a food & drink order and everything was there when we arrived. She ordered the cab from the airport (twice since one sister was delayed) so we didn't have to worry about anything. She also suggested many things to see and do since none of us had ever been to Cabo before. The house itself was a mansion and every bedroom and bathroom were amazing. I can't say enough good things about our stay. I can't wait to go back!

This property is so amazing and we had the best time !! 4 couples and we had lots of room for everyone the pool and hot tub were amazing !! We had the chef two nights and the food was so good! I cannot express how helpful Maricarmen was !! She was there to help with every detail and the trip was even better because of her !!

All I can say is that I couldn't imagine having spent my 50th Birthday anywhere other than Casa Cortez! The house itself is nothing short of amazing but the staff was over-the-top! Dinorah and David gave us a world-class dining experience at every meal. Gustavo was a godsend and took care of our every need. But Maricarmen was the ultimate! She communicated with me through the entire process prior to our arrival and was waiting for us with a smile when we got to the house. She oversaw our private chef and our massage arrangements as well helped us with our transportation and our excursions. I could go on for days about Maricarmen and her staff because they took care of us as if we were family. And by the time we left, we were. 10 STARS for this property and the people who made it special. I will never forget the experience!

There were seven of us and we spent four nights at this wonderful house. It is a beautiful place and I cannot do justice to just how nice it is. It is a very short walk down to the beach, and it is not a crowded beach. However, for at least the time we were there, there was a heavy surf. Still, a beautiful and peaceful beach. There is simply nothing to complain about this house - we would all happily stay here again. We highly recommend!

Perfect for a private getaway that allows you to have your space

My husband and I and two other couples spent 5 fabulous days at Casa Cortez to celebrate my birthday. I’d been looking at this house for 3 years, and once Covid was done it was the first trip we booked. The house is absolutely gorgeous! From the entry to the roof, it was perfectly designed and we were all so impressed. The pool is delightful and makes you feel like you’re swimming in a tree house. The view is incomparable. All the rooms are well appointed and the kitchen is perfect for entertaining. Great location that is safe and convenient to all the best parts of Cabo. Our one area of complaint was the completely invasive and overbearing host who seemed to be constantly present, following us around to turn off lights, close windows, and make us feel like we had a babysitter. She had a housekeeper there for 6 hours each day (we were not messy!) and it seemed like she was waiting for us to mess things up. We are not a wild party group and this was a major annoyance. The worst day we had was when we actually did have a need to address with her because the coffee maker didn’t work the second morning. We sent her a video message to show her that it wasn’t brewing properly, and she promptly arrived and accused us of breaking it! We were not only shocked, but insulted and never would have imagined a scenario where this kind of response would be appropriate at a luxury vacation rental. She was attempting to make us pay for a new coffee maker until she decided it must have been the private chef’s fault who we had hired the day before. Needless to say, it was bizarre and very awkward and absolutely tarnished what was otherwise a very pleasant vacation. One can only imagine what would have happened if the fridge had stopped working…would we be accused and asked to pay for that?! My advice to the owner is to train the host to provide a seamless and pleasant welcome experience, and then tell her to stay away unless summoned. There is absolutely no need to have her visiting the house daily. It is an annoyance and an intrusion. The daily housekeeping could be scaled way back, as well. Having a housekeeper on-site for 6 hours each day is also a huge intrusion and made us feel like we were being watched. Bottom line, we would love to stay at Casa Cortez again if we knew that Maricarmen would not be onsite constantly making us feel like we couldn’t relax.

When we arrived to the property, we were greeted by Maricarmen. She and I had already corresponded several times to get things lined up with the chef, groceries, and massages. Maricarmen was AMAZING! She was friendly, knowledgeable about anything we asked about, and was there daily by phone and in person to meet and exceed our needs. She was a huge reason we loved our experience and I will definitely see her again on another stay! Maricarmen schedule chef services for four nights of our stay. Our chef Dinorah and her team (Jose and David) were incredible. It was like fine dining from the comfort of our beautiful property. She was fun and friendly and even taught our friend how she made her specialty pasta. All of the food was incredible and Dinorah and team were so much fun to have around. Massage day was also incredible. It was relaxing and all of our party enjoyed the experience. The therapists took the time to get to know our needs and exceed our expectations. Again, amazing service from the comfort of the beautiful property. I can’t say enough about Maricarmen, the property and our stay. Our party of 7 all claim it to be our favorite vacation and we are planning a return!
