Built in 1809 as a country home and renovated in 2019, Fleetwood is great balance of old-world charm and modern convenience located right in the middle of Nelson County's music, craft beer, and adventure destinations. Fleetwood sits on top of a private bluff of solid rock overlooking the Tye River, with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Bored Walk to the river and go for a swim. Catch crawfish in the creek. Start a bonfire. Grill out on the back deck. Cozy up with a book next to the fireplace. The Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway are a beautiful 25 minutes away.

Nelson County is a music and outdoor mecca. There are excellent breweries, wineries, cideries, distilleries, restaurants, and music venues less than 15 minutes away. Home to Lockn and Hoopla festivals, as well many mountain biking and cycling events. You are surrounded by fantastic biking, hiking, boating, fishing, 4WD, and skiing opportunities. It's 30 minutes to the ski slopes at Wintergreen resort.

When you visit, we hope you will share the feeling that people have enjoyed this special spot for thousands of years. Welcome!

Made us feel like we were at home in NC mountains while judging a 3 day KCBS professional BBQ competition at nearby Devil's Backbone Brewery.

I did not want to write a bad review but I sent the following message to the host 48 hours ago and did not receive a response. Fleetwood (c. 1809) - A renovated landmarkHost: BradyBookedView detailsHello, First off the house is unique and I enjoyed the history of it. However, I want to let you know that there is a huge bug problem. On Friday night a stink bug was on my son who sat in the recliner. I didn't think much of it. We were out of the house for most of the day Saturday. After a short while of sitting on the couch last night I had a stink bug crawling on my neck. I then saw two stink bugs on the wall and killed them. A few other insects later appeared on the lamp. I then looked at the window behind the couch and there were multiple of both bug types on the windowsill and on the chair rail. There were also two on the opposite window.Needless to say that was not pleasant and honestly made it difficult to sleep. There were also a few bugs in the kitchen and one even came home in my food bag. I'm hopeful that none hitched a ride in the clothes bags. I'm not sure if you were aware but I'm sure you'll want to correct it prior to renting it again.

If you are visiting Nelson County and enjoy History, this is the place. Gorgeous home. The owners have placed signage to help tell the story and could not be more gracious. We came into this majestic home greeted by a Christmas tree. So so welcoming.

This truly is a historic home! The interior was so well done. Wonderful 11 foot ceilings and antiques. Private with farm land everywhere. Beds and furniture were comfortable.

Really cool, interesting, beautiful historic home in the mountains!! Loved our weekend at Fleetwood, especially the bonfire and Adirondacks! The location is great, being near lots of cool hikes and parks and great breweries. Felt like everywhere we went was dog friendly, including Fleetwood.
