Stayed Apr 23, 2026We had a wonderful time at FML.. the accommodations were just what we needed for our wine tasting weekend. Taney the property manager was amazing to work with. The only downfall was no main level bathroom, you had to go downstairs to the bathroom. Excellent property, loved the location and the hummingbirds all over the property were so fun to watch!!

Stayed Mar 27, 2026This home has beautiful forested hill views and is light filled, in an area that feels quiet and almost rural, yet is only a 10-minute drive from the most popular areas of Healdsburg. The owner and property manager were very good communicators and very eager to help us have an enjoyable stay--much appreciated. Very clean and well-organized. Great for bird viewing! Please be aware of a few things that are not obvious from the photos: 1) the primary bedroom on the top level has no bathroom, and the closest bathroom is down two flights of steep stairs, 2) the outside deck with a beautiful view of the hills has no access from the living/dining room area, but only downstairs, walking through the two small bedrooms on the lowest floor of the home, and the large deck that is accessible from the main level has no view, 3) the river bank is a ten-minute uphill/downhill walk away, and is a large rough rock area with no sand and no shade, and 4) Sonoma County's short-term rental regulations mean that it is not allowed to have any friends visit, even for a glass of wine or a small dinner party, unless they are paid renters. In all other aspects, the home was as pictured and good, the owner and manager were wonderful, and Healdsburg is delightful and accessible.

Stayed Aug 28, 2025We had a wonderful stay at this home on Fitch Mountain. The setting is absolutely stunning — waking up to the morning fog rolling over the forest was magical, and the hundreds of hummingbirds that come right up to the deck were unforgettable. Feeding them each morning made our trip feel extra special. The large decks in the front and back, plus the hot tub, gave us plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views. The house has a unique layout worth noting: the spacious master bedroom on the top floor has no bathroom nearby, so you have to go down two flights of stairs, which was inconvenient. The first floor has two smaller bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the kitchen is on the second floor. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of.The home is very dog-friendly, and the concierge service was outstanding — available around the clock and even decorated for my husband’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. The house itself is comfortable, though a bit dated with older carpets and bathrooms. The lake is about a 10-minute walk away, slightly farther than expected.Overall, this is a charming retreat with unbeatable views, incredible wildlife, and great staff. If you’re looking for a relaxing Sonoma stay and don’t mind a quirky floor plan, it’s a wonderful choice.

Stayed May 27, 2025No, seriously, stay in this house if for no other reason than the incredible number of birds around, especially hummingbirds! The house is clean and comfortable with a great view. You can roll your kayaks down the hill to the river, then sit in the hot tub and commune with nature. One of the best parts of the house? The house manager Tenay! We had our informational call when we got settled and by the end of the call I felt we’d been friends forever. She’s a wealth of knowledge on places to go, things to see, and how to attract hummingbirds to your own home! We, and our dogs, loved our stay at Fitch Mountain Lookout, and can’t wait to go back.

Stayed Mar 20, 2025Cool cabin, lots of communication with host. Hummingbirds were amazing, there were hundreds. Didn’t realize both bathrooms were on the lowest floor so the top floor bedroom had a two story walk down when facilities were needed. Roads are extremely narrow to get to house and we were expecting an easier route to the river. Great spot for folks looking for an “off the beaten path” stay. Treehouse feeling was great.

Stayed Nov 28, 2024Place is a real gem: Beautiful views of the Russian River valley from the house and from several decks; Spacious and comfortable inside; Hot tub outside on deck with beautiful view of the valley; easy walk to water. We also did some nearby hikes and spent time in the lovely town of Healdsburg. Owner Stephen and manager Tenay were great hosts.

Stayed Jan 4, 2024Not my first stay here and will not be my last! This time I brought human friends instead of my puppers. We were awed by the stunning greens and morning fog ribbons across the forested view, all from the warmth of the spa with a house-made cappuccino in hand. As always, I love the decor throughout the home, and the oh so comfy sofas facing that storybook view. It was a short trip, so not enough time to use the kayaks, but we took advantage of the off-season and packed in a lot of local tastings. They even treated us to some free wine tasting vouchers at some local family owned wineries which was a treasured bonus. The hosts had great recommendations from food to wineries and it was clear they wanted us to have a special trip. thank you for everything!
