Waldport, Oregon
Walk through the house's namesake red front door and be amazed at the magnificent panoramic views of the bay, ocean, bridge and coastal landscape. Red Door House sits on the Alsea Bay at the mouth of the Alsea River where you, your family, and friends will have easy access to crabbing, fishing, clamming, or walking along the quiet beach during low tide. Watch the fishermen and crabbers bobbing in their boats out on the bay or enjoy the bridge and the community on the other side of the bay light up at night. Many coastal adventures await you right in your own back yard.
The Red Door House offers an open great room concept with a deck that invites refreshing breezes, barbecuing and conversation. With the bay right off your back deck, it's easy to settle into this beach home, whether you're staying during a lazy summer day or a magical coastal storm. A cozy wood burning fireplace adds to the enjoyment during those tempestuous winter storms. This home sleeps 8 with four bedrooms which include a master suite upstairs with its own sitting room, a desk for those who want to work remotely, and ensuite bath. With expansive views to the north and west, the pretty Alsea Bay Bridge lights up at night and will lull you to sleep. On the main level is another bedroom with a bath attached and a sliding door that takes you to the hot tub for some relaxation after a day exploring. A separate suite with a kitchenette (perfect for additional privacy) and one more bedroom on the main floor share a bath in the hall.
When the surf and wildlife beckon you to explore, you will have easy access to the bay just a short walk to Keady Wayside. On the bay, wildlife viewing of harbor seals, migratory and non-migratory birds, and other sea life can be found. Enjoy the wonderful Woodland Trail in Waldport when you want to explore and get a glimpse of where the forest meets the sea! Or, put your kayak into the bay and follow a 10-mile route along the Alsea River, Drift Creek and Lint Slough where you might be joined by seals, river otters and lots of birds! Located in the small town of Waldport, whether exploring the antique shops or dining at local restaurants, you can walk to everything from this home!

Crabbing in the bay, soaked in the hot tub. Would stay again.
Nice location. Problem with hot water heater constantly shutting off. Leaky toilet around the floor in downstairs master bath and poor caulking in hall bathroom created bad smells coming up from floorboards around toilets. Guest bedroom had old tattered blankets and a smelly comforter and the mattress was like a hammock. Furniture in living room saggy and uncomfortable. House basically clean for older home, kitchen was fully stocked with good appliances.
Beautiful room well laid out for all of us. We all loved it!
Everything was great and clean except for the outside patio cushions...we didnt want to sit on them with all the mildew
Very happy with house. Cushions outside were dirty but it’s winter in Oregon.
This was hands-down one of the nicest rentals we have stayed at in Waldport! The home is beautiful, spacious, and well-stocked, with a view of the bay that simply cannot be beat. Our only disappointments (all very minor) included the dishwasher not starting 'on command', though the dishes were eventually washed (it seemed there was a start-delay timer that we could not reset), wet/mildewed patio furniture cushions (it's too bad that there isn't a dry place to store them when not being used), and the large area rug that was no longer secured to the floor due to sandy adhesive strips. The rug posed a tripping hazard for our senior citizens, so we rolled it up for the duration of our stay. We did reach out about the dishwasher and had a request for additional information about the problem, which we replied to. We did not hear back after that, but did not pursue it further as it did work eventually (a few hours later) each time we tried to start it. We marked the listing down one star for Accuracy of Listing because of the confusion over the address. The listing and the street signs both are simply Maple Street. However, there are TWO homes on Maple Street just a few blocks from each other with the same house number....make sure that you arrive to the one further south. We pulled into the driveway at the north end of Maple Street and were quite confused because the house looked nothing like the listing, and the cleaning crew told us we were not expected until the following day. We eventually figured out the correct house was at the south end....which we could eventually laugh about, but it did cause some initial stress. We definitely will stay here again (especially now that we know how to get there!). It was the perfect place for our family to get away for spectacular views, a relaxing soak in the hot tub, room for games and reading, great crabbing, and memory making.
Beautiful location, very well appointed. Quick to help us with a hot water issue. Enjoyed the sunset from our hot tub. The out of town guests I took over were very impressed with the whole weekend stay which made me happy and proud of our Oregon coast.
Amazing house and view! Easy check in and attentive host. The house had everything we needed and more. The bbq wouldn’t work and we had to broil our steaks, other than that we didn’t have any complaints! We will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing house with an amazing view.
House is comfortable, conveniently located, great size and amenities. Only downfall is couches are super cheap and uncomfortable, makes gathering in only common area a back breaker. Otherwise, all was great.
Very homey property. Fabulous location! Will return!
We’re frequent fliers for the red door, best place in waldport roomy and peaceful, great views too. Just one thing… two almost empty tanks of propane so we were unable to grill, and we only had gas for two nights fire pits…. And we’re old we don’t stay up late. That’s really too bad considering how expensive it is to stay here.. bummer
Very nice house with a wonderful view! We had everything we needed for a great weekend.
The exterior was welcoming, as was the interior. Everything was clean, the bathrooms were well-stocked and the kitchen had everything we needed. Our unanimous recommendation is that the homeowners install Roman shades above the windows in the living and dining rooms. The stunning views would not be lost, but residents could enjoy the large TV and could more comfortably sit at the dining room table.
We had a great time crabbing and enjoying the bay. The house is very clean, and comfortable. And, Waldport is nice and quiet compared to towns to the north. Would come back anytime.
Our family absolutely loved this place! Updated beautifully, clean, comfortable! The backyard and view on the bay were awesome! The photos did not do it justice! Very quiet and private—some traffic sounds, but not much. The hot tub was wonderful! We got to watch the seals swimming right there in the bay in our very own backyard! If you walk over the bridge, you can see about 100 seals at high tide in the late afternoon! Several really good restaurants right there across the street on 101. Very central location to a lot of great sights—Yachats, Florence, Depoe Bay, Newport. Great management team. We absolutely recommend this place, and would love to stay here again!
Property needs to have repairs done. Floor going out back door sinks with weight on it. Carpet dirty. Some outlets were not functioning. Gas grill does not work. No instructions on how to turn showers on. When I left message to property manager it took her 2 days to respond. Remote on living room TV broken so TV had to be manually set. Dining room chair had loose back . Couches in living room were uncomfortable to sit in and some cushions sunk when you sat on it. Possible broken springs. Beds were the best feature of home. No shades on back windows in dining room and living room. In afternoon sun bakes in the windows making using dining room or watching TV impossible. Coffee pot was dirty. And mold was left at bottom of laundry room wastebasket. Cleaning crew left a dirty full garbage can in the bathroom. The view is beautiful from the home. I will not stay at this home again.
We had a pleasant stay at red door would recommend
The location and size of the home was really good. It had everything we needed.
Excellent property, cannot say enough good things about this property! Easy to find, comfortable, well taken care of, well stocked kitchen for any cook! The hot tub was perfect. We were supposed a party of 4, but one person was unable to join us so we had plenty of room and thoroughly enjoyed the space, the location, and had a perfect time for my birthday celebration! Thank you. I will privately contact you about one question.
