Meredith, New Hampshire
This home has 3 bedrooms with an additional sleeping loft, 2 full baths. This “nonsmoking” house is located in Winnipesaukee Beach Colony Club. Great room with fireplace and decorated with very comfortable furniture. The kitchen was recently remodeled with granite counters, new appliances and flooring. The dining area is a bright sun room leading out to the deck with a screen porch just off it. This home is located just 300 steps from Lake Winnipesaukee. Enjoy swimming and water-skiing in the pristine waters of Cummings Cove. This community has one of the largest beaches on the lake. Quick access to the Stonedam Island Nature Preserve for group fishing and retreats make this a very special place to spend time. Close to Meredith Bay, this location offers the convenience of local shops, restaurants, wineries, art walks and more! Tennis courts are just around the corner. The large flat lot is perfect for yard games.
There are two public boat launches within a few miles -- the Association has a day dock which allows you to leave your boat for a few hours.
Everything we experienced was exactly as advertised. House was beautiful and clean and the owner was accessable when needed. Great location!!
This is a nice house for a few days at the lake. A few things to note, since the pictures didn't make it clear: - This house is not on the water, nor does it have water views (except maybe in the winter). They do mention this, but don't get confused by the pictures of the beach like my husband did! It's maybe a 3 minute walk to the water, though, so you're very close. - The house was very clean and tidy. This is coming from a neat freak, so I mean it. The house also had all bed linens and bath towels, which is a nice change of pace. Do bring your own beach towels! - You're about a 10-min drive from Meredith Center. - The closets are padlocked, cupboards empty, and fridge totally bare, so you need to bring your own stuff outside of plates/flatware, cooking gear, dish soap/sponge, and a broom. This is a little different from most VRBOs we've stayed at, where pantry staples are left by other renters as goodwill. It's not an issue, though- just be aware and bring your own coffee and ketchup! - The layout is as follows: you walk into the front door, which is a converted basement area. There's an entry and a hall into a bedroom with a full-size bed and the mini sleeping loft, which has 2 twin mattresses. There's a full bath off this bedroom. If you go up the stairs, you land in a big, sunny living room and sun porch area with lots of comfy seating. The new kitchen is off of the living room. The hall to the 2 other bedrooms is off the kitchen: one has 2 twin beds and the other has a full bed. There's another full bathroom with tub. Off of the sun porch is the deck and enclosed porch. - Anne was excellent to arrange things with- we texted her whenever we had questions and everything was very smooth. They even have a 20+ page booklet on the house and things to do; the restaurant recommendations are great! - The owners stay nearby and may stop in if they see fit/drive by in a car (and a scooter, I think) a few times. The house also has a Ring camera doorbell so they can see who comes/goes, and motion sensors in the places they don't want you poking around (the padlocked master, the garage). This is their home, so we understood the concern of renting it out- as a former rental property owner myself, I get it! If you're weary of Big Brother, though, just take note. Overall, we had a great stay and experience at the lake!
The location was excellent, just a short walk to the beach. A few miles from plenty of shops etc. and the property has enough space for a large group. A few things that should be considered: One main one is that the AC in the house is not suitable. On very hot days, without any AC in the basement the loft downstairs is not safe for young kids and as the loft is only 4 ft high it can only really fit young kids. This is concerning. I had to buy additional fans to try and move air around as the temperature on the main floor and basement where into the high 70's and low 80's. An AC unit downstairs and a larger one in the main room upstairs would be worth it for the comfort of guests. The property was clean, although the sheets smelled a little like moth balls. As the owner expects you to keep the house clean, it would be nice if the use of more than a small broom was available, having a small vacuum or mop would be nice. No one likes to clean but with little kids you need more than a small broom if you eat in the home. The last part that I do not agree with is, if I am paying a cleaning fee I shouldn't have to worry about bringing trash to a dump or home with me if I exceed a limit. Overall this was a good property and I would consider renting again, but I couldn't if the AC wasn't better if I needed more than the 2 rooms upstairs.
Great location. House has an unusual layout and not all the rooms were air conditioned. Very accommodating homeowner.
Property was spacious with an absolutely gorgeous kitchen. Outdoor area was well kept with firepit and lots of chairs. Short stroll to a private beach and perfect views of the lake.
Great location excellent house very clean. Very worth renting
Great place with plenty of room!
