Family & Pet Friendly on the West End of Sunset Beach!

Very clean and we enjoyed our brief stay.

Very comfortable house in a fantastic location. Close walk to beach and short drive to good restaurants. Good communication with host. Fully stocked kitchen. This was our second stay here, does not disappoint. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed the pet-fiendly DogHouse! It was clean, and very convenient with a short walk to the beach. We took our boat and it was a short drive to the ramp on the intercoastal waterway. Beautiful scenery! Our only complaint is the mattresses and pillows are very worn and thin and need replacing.

All good with the exception of the beds. Very uncomfortable. Good location and very clean.

We had a wonderful stay with the whole family. The location is perfect for walking to the beach while being on a quiet street. We were comfortable as a family of 5 with plenty of space. We were grateful to be able to check in early as well. We will definitely be returning!

House was clean. The host are amazing they baked my family fresh cookies , they were on the counter when we arrived! plenty of yard space for our dog. The beach is about a 3-4 min walk but well worth it! The beach was clean and not a lot of sea shells. People were really friendly.

We've stayed at the Dog House several times and, although this time we didn't bring our four-legged child with us, it is still ideal for a group with kids. Everything is on one level, lots of dishes, a straight walk to the beach. Highly recommend it!

Great beach cottage with just a short walk to beach. We were able to do an early, contactless check-in. Kitchen had all the essentials. The host was very helpful and thoughtful. Upon arrival, we had a handwritten note, fresh baked cookies, a basket of snacks. Again, very thoughtful! Would def recommend.

We had a great time for the week-long vacation at Sunset. I was a bit worried at first because the house is posted as Pet-friendly, but the house was very clean, much cleaner than other houses that we stayed in the past. Also it was great that washer and dryer were in the kitchen. So convenient!We usually cook almost every meal when we are at the beach so it was very helpful that the kitchen had everything we needed. However, the toaster and the coffee maker were near the end of their life so I recommend replacing them. As I mentioned, the bedrooms and the bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. There were enough chairs and a sofa for everyone (7 of us) to hang out comfortably.The location of the house was perfect. Close enough to the pier so my husband could walk to it and fish every night. I loved the covered front porch. This was the 4th year going to Sunset Beach and this house was the best house in my book and really enjoyed staying here.We are definitely coming back again.Thank you for letting us stay and we had a wonderful time staying at this house.

Great week

We had a fantastic week at the Doghouse. We have stayed st the Doghouse several times now. The house was clean upon arrival and the check-in/check-out process was easy. The house is a short walk to the beach and the pier/Main Street area. We love the Doghouse!

It's like my second home.

Great place, so clean all the amenities and conveniences. Accommodates alot of people.

Excellent host. Excellent location hopefully, we’ll be back next year.

I've stayed in Sunset Beach multiple times and The Dog House was by far one of the nicest the host was on point and we will be back

We love Sunset Beach and we love The Dog House. What a fantastic place to stay for a week and unwind with friends and family.

We had a great time and it was easy to get to. The location was a minute to the bridge and A very short walk to the beach. The dogs lived there stay as well.

Great location a short walk to a beautiful beach. Convenient access for shopping and restaurants. Nice layout of the cottage that would be perfect for two small families to share. Love the skylights in the living room. Would stay here again.

Wow, what a disappointment!If I could give a lower rating than 1 I would!. This place was a mess, baby bottles with curdling milk in a baby bottle stuff in the headboard with another baby bottle with water right next to it. Not sure how you miss this from tenant to tenant. Also huge urine stains on mattress, numerous stains on couches and chairs, floors not swept or washed, dirt from god only know under couch cushions. The only reason I knew this was couch cushions were stained and disgusting so I turned them over just to sit on it. This place was clearly not taken care of. Renter Beware!!!We have stayed multiple times in ocean isle and sunset beach but unfortunately the place that we stayed before multiple times wasn’t available. I would be completely embarrassed renting this out to anyone!!Had it booked for two nights stayed one night cause we checked in after 5 and couldn’t find anything else.Called to complain about a refund and to no avail told us to pack sand. This person clearly doesn’t care. Funny thing is we were in the area because we are thinking about moving there real soon. Owner gave us her name and sunset and ocean isle are very small beautiful towns. You shouldn’t treat people this way!!!I hate giving negative reviews but this is warranted. I felt like people need to be informed so they can make there own decisions.

Our stay at The Doghouse was excellent. Mary was quick to communicate, answered questions promptly, kept us thoroughly informed, and made us feel welcome. The house is comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen, including a waffle iron! It was a short walk to the beach access and on the quiet end of the beach....we are return guests and will be back.

This property offered everything we were looking for in a beach house. Very clean, comfortable beds, easy access to the beach and great communication with the owners. I highly recommend staying at the Dog House!

The Dog house was perfect for our family of seven. We were looking for a relaxful week at the beach with the convenience of coming and going and this house delivered. Our kids could easily enjoy walking safely to and from the beach and spent their time off the beach mastering riding their bikes with no hands on the quiet street They loved the Soduku game and played it everyday. The bedrooms were spacious, the downstairs storage for beach supplies were a perfect fit our wagon, stroller and canopy. The best part of the house was the well stocked kitchen. We love to cook our own meals and this house was fit with baking dishes, plenty of pots and pans and cooking utensils for our annual shrimp boil and more. It was a perfect beach week!

Our family of 4 plus our sweet pup had a great stay! Mary and Ron kindly left a basket for us upon arrival that had a few basics to get us started for the week. House had everything we needed!

Liked the house and location. The beds could use memory foam mattress pads - they were a little hard. We loved the homemade cookies from our host!

Mary was a wonderful hostess! Truly loved it.
