Family Home w/ Private Pool & Hot Tub in Lewes

The location is on the other side of Rt 1 from the beach so it’s really not bikeable to Henlopen or to the public beach. That said it’s mostly a 10 minute car ride. Lots of congestion to the grocery store in season. The house is great for a family offering a pool and hot tub. Has a diy vibe which is mostly cute but the plumbing in the hall bathtub needs work and the screen door to the pool area kept falling off leading to a wasp in the house. The master bath is tremendous as is the kitchen ( with the exception of the dishwasher being across the room from the sink?) which is excellently supplied. The garage has a door opener so easy to hold bikes and beach chairs. The grounds are gorgeous and private. The owner lives behind the house but is not intrusive and is very helpful and kind. Lovely front porch for sitting in a quiet area away from family noise. Price is appropriate for what you get.

Our family spent 3 weeks in Lewes and the house was perfect for our family vacation. The home is pet friendly and we were able to have our dogs with us the whole time. The home was well stocked and had everything we needed. The owner was always very respectful of our privacy and we rarely saw him. He always checked with us when he wanted to take care of the pool and yard and always when we were out. He was also be very kind and thoughtful with us and our dogs. He even checked with us mid-stay if we needed additional supplies. The pool and outdoor patio was our favourite part of the home. The house is in a very quiet neighbourhood and close to lots of restaurants and stores. We were able to visit all the beaches in the area easily. Overall, a wonderful family vacation spot! This was, without a doubt, the most stressful and disappointing vacation my family and I have ever experienced.When we booked this property, the listing made no mention that the owner lived on-site—in the garage directly behind the house—or that he would be present during our stay. In reality, the owner was frequently on the property and had guests coming and going throughout the week, which made both my young daughter and younger sister extremely uncomfortable. This serious lack of privacy was a major misrepresentation and significantly impacted our ability to relax. It’s worth noting that the listing has since been updated to disclose that the owner lives on the property, but this change was made only after our stay and complaints.As for comfortable sleeping arrangements, don’t expect much from the top bunk or the king-sized bed—unless you enjoy the feeling of sleeping on hard wooden boards or bare box springs.Additionally, while we were approved in writing to bring two dogs, the owner insisted upon our arrival that only one had been approved. Thankfully, I had documentation to confirm otherwise. We were also told—only after checking in—that dogs were not allowed in the pool, a restriction that was not included in the original listing. We fully complied with this request, yet the owner still contacted Evolve to accuse us of violating the rule. We immediately asked Evolve to review the owner’s security camera footage to confirm that our dogs had not been in the pool. At that point, it felt like the owner was actively looking for reasons to have us removed from the property.Throughout our stay, we felt like we were being watched constantly. The stress of the environment became so overwhelming that we made the difficult decision to leave a day early just to escape the situation.Bottom line: If you're looking for a peaceful, private getaway, I strongly urge you to avoid this listing. The misleading description and the intrusive presence of the property owner completely ruined what should have been a relaxing vacation.

The house was perfect for our week long vacation! The pool is amazing!! Close to beaches, the Rehoboth boardwalk and stores! Joe was very nice and very quick to respond! Highly recommend booking your vacation here! We will definitely be booking again!

WOW!!! The house was perfect for a surprise 70th birthday day party for my husband. It was a great location. The house had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed spending time by the pool and the beautiful scenery in the backyard. The front porch is very spacious and perfect for a large group. The beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen is big with lots of room for cooking and the dining room table is big enough for 8 people with very comfortable chairs. The host is very quick to respond to any of our questions. I highly recommend this home to anyone and can’t wait to return. The house and amenities are exquisite.
