Narragansett, Rhode Island
Bring the whole family! 4 huge bedrooms and two full bathrooms with central AC just begin to tell the story at 5 Chestnut Ave. Upon entry, you are greeted with an open concept family room, kitchen and dining room, easily accommodating 8 or more guests
Narraganset is a beautiful town that has something for everyone. With many beaches to choose from--Scarborough Beach, Narragansett Town Beach, Roger Wheeler State Beach, and Salty Brine State Beach are all a short drive away. Narragansett is close to the Block Island Ferry, which makes for a lovely day trip. Grab lobsters off the boat in Galilee! Also close are Providence, Newport, Mohegan Sun Casino and Foxwoods Casino.
You'll find a sliding door off the dining room that leads to the backyard. This kitchen is well-suited for anything you might have in mind, from family breakfasts to late-night BBQs.
My favorite part of this house is the proximity to Roger Wheeler State Beach and a few favorite local restaurants! You will be just a short drive away from this gorgeous, family friendly beach and authentic Rhode Island food!
Sunset Farm is nearby, kids will love to visit to say hello to all the animals and go see how they live on the farm. The farm store sells, fresh vegetables and fruit, pies, jellies, cookies, meat and made to order food items.
The Block Island ferry is just a couple miles away where you can ride on the fast ferry or larger ferry to Block Island or Martha's Vineyard.

We had the absolute best time at our stay in this lovely home with 6 adults and 4 young children. The home was spotless upon arrival and the keyless entry was such a great feature. Loved the close proximity to the beach (we’d walk with the kids everyday) and the neighborhood was nice and quiet for bike riding. We drank our coffee each morning on the deck and ate our dinner each evening out there. I love coming to sand hill cove each summer for our family vacation and throughly enjoyed staying at this home. Narragansett Properties are always so lovely to work with.
Short walk to Roger Wheeler beach, nice playground and calm water for our 18 month old ! Loved how quiet the neighborhood was. The house could have used a quick floor cleaning before we arrived. The lower level was cold and hard to regulate. There were lots of beach towels and beach chairs there --- we could have left our home !! We hung out on the deck and enjoyed grilling for dinner nearly every night ! As an HGTV fan, loved the decor and was glad to have comfortable seating areas to catch up with family.
I’ll start by staying overall we had a great stay at this home! We had two families with 4 kids together. The yard and deck were great for the kids and we had great walks around the neighborhood with the kids and our dogs (was pet friendly which was also a huge plus)! Our main issue was the home was listed as 5 beds, 3 baths. It very clearly only has 2 bathrooms - there is an outdoor shower (which we loved), but that’s not another bathroom. It had 3 regular bedrooms and then a 4th in the basement (decent size, but no closet and pretty musty). They count the sitting room in the basement as a bedroom which is a stretch - it has a fold down sofa futon thing, but it’s very small - an adult would be too tall for it. So luckily our group still fit but it wasn’t the sleeping set up we were hoping for. Another note, the upstairs bedrooms have locks on the doorknobs - my 4 year old accidentally locked one and shut the door, locking us out of that room. We couldn’t find a key anywhere and had trouble getting in touch with the property managers to figure it out quickly (it was in the evening so we needed to get the kids to bed). Someone came in the morning and jimmied it open - they said college students who rent during the year change the locks, so they don’t have the keys. Just something to beware of! Otherwise, the kitchen was well-equipped, the living room was comfy and the house was pretty clean. We had a good stay, just some things to watch out for!
A pleasant and well stocked house, a good walk from Roger Wheeler Beach. Quiet neighborhood, perfect for a relaxed family stay. Comfortable and clean common spaces. Quarters are tight for a group of 10; we were more comfortable on the days when we were a group of 7. We would come back in a heartbeat!
We’ve been coming up for 15+ years and this is one of the cleanest, most comfortable houses so far. Every amenity was provided and all were in very good working order. Even has electronic locks so we never had to worry about divvying up keys. Very quiet neighborhood with a quick walk to Roger Wheeler Beach.
Great location for everything we wanted to do--Naragannsett, Jamestown, Block Island, Newport. There are two bedrooms on the top floor but no bathroom. So three bedrooms are sharing one teeny bathroom on the main floor which is rather inconvenient. House was well stocked and location was fantastic. We enjoyed evening fishing and walks and most everything was a close drive. The rental agency was fantastic to work with, even calling to check in on our ETA and assisting with a late check in.
This was a perfect house for a relaxing beach trip for my family with two kids and my parents. There is a suite on the bottom floor that gave my parents a bit of privacy, and plenty of room for my family of four upstairs. Roger Wheeler beach was a 1/2 mile walk away and easy access to the other state beaches and the block island ferry. Very clean, and we had great communication with the property management as we were there through Hurricane Henri.
We enjoyed every minute! House is lovely, lots of room for the family. Deck perfect for eating and relaxing. We will be booking again for 2022!
We loved the house- so clean! Location to beach and restaurants was great. Loved walking our dog in the neighborhood. Great yard and deck for entertaining. We would definitely go back. We had 4 adults, one kid and a dog. Perfect size. One odd thing, the A/C Units on the first floor and basement were not working when we arrived. We called the property manager Monday and they sent someone right overall d he fixed it right away. The outside condenser outlet had been disconnected. He plugged it back in. On the following Friday, night before checkout, my daughter saw someone in the yard disconnecting it again. We left it off that final night but unclear as to why someone would turn it off intentionally and not tell us or leave clear instructions inside?
Property was nice and there was plenty of A/C for the house. Close to the beach !
