Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our first time using this website and also our first summer holiday in the Netherlands: Happy to say a great success overall! Of course, we had to navigate a few hurdles but that is to be expected: arriving after-hours was probably unwise as the small admin unit in De Tong does not have the same organisational muscle as Aquadelta next door. The bed situation also confused us and could have soured the experience - the online picture and description of the 2nd bedroom don't match the current reality as there is no sofabed. Thankfully, the sofa in the living room downstairs is long and comfortable! Other than that, the house is beautifully furnished, very clean and rather cosy. It had everything we needed and is set in a very quiet corner of the Aquadelta/De Tong. The nearby beaches are both quite small but enough for an hour of sunbathing and relaxing. The big beaches of Schouwen-Duiveland are further North about 20 minutes by car which was good motivation for us to explore places like Scharendijke. What surprised us was a delightful lack of mass tourism feel in Bruinisse. We indulged in a lot of different activities but never had the feeling that the place was overloaded with tourists which was rather nice. On the few days of bad weather we ventured to Rotterdam which has transformed itself into a vibrant, colourful city with plenty of premium eateries and some serious shopping opportunities. Finally, great thanks to the owner of the place who very patiently replied to all my queries in the run-up to our stay. I am pretty sure we will back again soon!
