Located on a dead end road, this 4 bedroom cottage is a home away from home while offering an incredible beach front experience. This property is literally just a few steps from Lake Erie so you will be able to enjoy beachcombing, fishing, boating, basking in the sun, and fires in the fire pit.
The layout of the house consists of two bedrooms downstairs and one bathroom with a beautifully re-modeled handicap accessible shower. The front (lake side) bedroom has a queen sized bed and has direct access to the bathroom. The second bedroom offers a full sized bed with a sliding glass door to the deck. The kitchen has one of the best views in the house as you can look out on the beach while preparing every meal. Also included in the kitchen are brand new stainless steel appliances, and beer fridge. The downstairs also offers two separate living rooms. One living room located on the lake side of the house which is open to the kitchen. This living room has an extensive view of Lake Erie while offering a wood burning fireplace for cozy nights. The second living room offers two kick out leather couches and is perfect for keeping the kids entertained. Separating the front of the house to the back living room is a laundry room with washer and dryer.
The upstairs of this property offers two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The front bedroom located on the lake side of the house has the most amazing view of Lake Erie with a sliding glass door and a small balcony. Both upstairs bedrooms are quiet and cozy with one room offering a queen sized bed and the other a full sized bed. Both rooms provide ceiling fans.
The outside at this lake front home offers two possibilities for outside entertaining: One area being a large wooden deck with table, chairs, extra seating, and a natural gas grill. This deck is located on the road side of the property, while the other area is a full patio located on the lake side of the house with ample outdoor seating and picnic table. This is a great spot for laying in the sun during the day or having cocktails and watching the sunset at night. We are located only few steps from the mouth of 16 Mile Creek, which is home to some of the best fishing around. Freeport Beach is just a walk across the beach away and offers a public swimming area (lifeguard), playground, and volleyball courts.
All linens, bath towels, and beach towels are provided.
This cottage is not equipped with air conditioning but due to the location offers a nice lake breeze.
The owners of this home are happy to share their home for a vacation getaway for one or two families but it is not intended to host any type of event or party.
There is a strict limit of 8 overnight guests.
My family and I give thumbs up and high fives to the view, location, and accommodations. The house was well stocked and even had unexpected supplies like dishwasher and laundry detergents. Sara was helpful and responsive to my text messages. We loved every thing about our trip and especially enjoyed nightly sunsets and water side campfires. We can’t wait to return. Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of heaven on earth.
Absolutely wonderful and beautiful all around
We loved the proximity of this property to the beach! We all had such a wonderful time collecting sea glass, using the firepit, and eating at localrestaurants. The hostess is amazing and quickly answered all of our questions
The house was more than accommodating. The experience exceeded our expectations. We had a great time & want to return!
Nice and comfortable (although our 6 adults all thought that their bed was a little too soft). Additionally, although this did not affect us but I think it should be noted; you have to walk through the one upstairs bedroom to get to the other. Probably fine to put your kids but may not be ideal for adults that would want their privacy. But the view of the lake is beautiful, and we enjoyed the sun setting with a camp fire on the beach each evening. Close to wineries, an easy 30 minute ride to Presque Isle, and a short drive to North East's business district if you need anything. I'd like to do it again next year. Make reservations early in the season because it looks like it gets booked up fast.
We fell in love with this amazing home and the views are spectacular all day long. Our family had lots of plans to go do things when we arrived. After being there for a few hours we all just wanted to walk along the water's edge, watch the stunning sunsets, look at the beautiful rocks. Just sitting in the living room was relaxing as we looked at the waves through the big windows. We even found yooperlite rocks which are usually found in Lake Superior but we found some here! This house had everything we needed. One of the owners came to personally greet us upon arrival and to answer any questions. She shared with us great historical stories from this area. The many vineyards were a plus and we went to see Niagara Falls in New York since we were so close. Some of us did some fishing and we got to eat a delicious grilled steel head fish, thanks to one of our generous neighbors. Our daughters found a very beautiful waterfall nearby. They were so excited to tell us all about it. We were all sad to leave such a magnificent place. We will certainly be back! The Lockharts Blackmsmith Family from Ohio
Had a great family vacation! Beautiful views of Lake Erie. A little warm without A/C but otherwise a good time for our crew.
We really enjoyed our visit. Plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 kids. Love the family room off the front so the kids could play. We were worried when we arrived that because the houses are so close to each other it wouldn’t be private, but we were wrong. It was very quiet, cozy, private and relaxing. Loved being on the water. The sunsets are amazing. Also loved having a fire near the water every night; just what vacation should be. The house was very, very clean. Had everything we needed- even warm blankets when it was colder than expected. No a/c as mentioned- but during our stay in late June we definitely didn’t need it.
A wonderful relaxing place to enjoy family time. Everything you need is available or close by.
We loved the perfect location of this house on the lakefront rocky beach area and adjacent to the Sixteen mile creek outlet into Lake Erie. The view of the lake is spectacular, both inside the house and out. No two days are alike next to Lake Erie. We really loved the front patio and firepit area in the front with its comfy furnishings, and we also took advantage of the deck at the back of the house when the wind was too hefty to play cards. The furnishings and decor was absolutley excellent in its combo of classy comfort and lakehouse beachy style. The bathrooms were lovely and comfortable. The bedding was super comfortable and cottage cotton perfect. The kitchen was very well equipped. Loved the useful pantry/laundry area with the extra freezer. We were really grateful that the owners allowed us to go one person over on the 8 person max listing, and provided us with an air mattress to use the 2nd living room area as a bedroom. We really loved being close to Presque Isle and Erie, as well as the town of North East for grocery shopping and general browsing around. The only problem we had was that the photo of the 2nd downstairs bedroom showed a single and a double bed, which was how we figured our 2 granddaughters and their mom/auntie would sleep, so we had to refigure our sleeping arrangements, as there was only the double bed in that room. It all turned out great, especially since our 16 year old grandson could be comfortable sleeping anywhere. Just would suggest changing out that bedroom photo on the listing. We really loved staying here. The biggest plusses are its stunning location right on the lake and its thoughtful, delightful decor with all the antiques, beach glass, clever accessories, and....So good!!!
We stayed here for my daughters graduation from Gannon with my parents & son. The house is decorated spectacularly and very well stocked. My son and husband enjoyed fishing during our down time and we took advantage of a couple of local wineries and had a blast. Highly recommend!
