Stayed Feb 27, 2026My wife and I treated our kids and grandkids to a snow play vacation in Big Bear last weekend and had a fantastic time. The property looked exactly like the pictures on VRBO and is laid out in a very comfortable way. The large master suite on the second floor was perfect for my wife and I to get some quiet time when we needed it.One of the best things about the property is its location right behind the National Forest. While the rest of the area tourists were struggling to find parking near crowded sledding hills, we literally went out the front door, strolled up the hill and were able to sled on pristine snow with no one else in sight just ten minutes walk from the house! The game room was fantastic, good for children and adults alike. All nine of us were able to play down there at the same time. Our host, Charles, was very attentive and quick to answer our texts. We were able to get an early check in to the property which was a huge benefit. In the kitchen, flatware, cups and plates were included, but oddly, there was only one frying pan and only one oven mitt which made meal preparation challenging. Simple things like hand soap and extra towels in the kitchen would also help. Upstairs shower was VERY weak and cold, downstairs shower was like needles on your skin, all bathrooms needed extra towels and decent shampoo and conditioner.Unfortunately the preceding two paragraphs kept us from rating this property with a 5, but yes, we would go back in the future.

Stayed Nov 22, 2025Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of five adults and three children (ages 5–13) had a wonderful stay at Casa Del Oso. The home exceeded our expectations— clean, beautifully organized, and perfectly set up for both kids and adults to enjoy. We especially loved the spacious kitchen and the large dining table that fit all of us comfortably. The master bedroom and bath were incredibly roomy, and the fireplace and private balcony were the perfect finishing touches. Everyone was happy with their rooms, and having a TV in each, was a definite bonus. The kids were in heaven in the game room, spending hours playing basketball toss, ping pong, and pool.Fresh snowfall before our arrival made the outdoor space even more magical. With plenty of distance between homes, the kids had lots of room to play safely outside. We had a couple of minor questions during our stay, and several questions with the booking process which the staff responded to promptly and kindly each time. The washer had a minor leak, but it didn’t affect our trip—we reported it, and based on the team’s excellent communication, we’re confident it’s already been taken care of.The home’s alarm system added an extra layer of peace of mind. This home is close proximity to the Village too!!We were happy with our stay and would recommend this rental.A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Big Bear Lakefront Cabins for making our booking and stay such a great experience! PS the driveway is on a slight slope...for anyone who rents during the winter months, be sure to have good grip shoes on when exiting your car. We shoveled snow from the driveway as much as we could, but still experienced a small amount of slippery ice.
