The property is listed as VRBO but uses a management company called Vacasa. The emails from Vacasa are not spam but they really want you to get their app for communication. Once I did, it was easier. The house initially looked great. Main areas look clean. After being there and noticing more, it is not cleaned like a hotel. Things like food on dishes that the dishwasher baked on, we washed before using. Trash on bathroom floor, some cobwebs. Not a big deal, it is someone’s vacation home, not a hotel. But between the pans and the windows open, we rated overall cleanliness 2 -3, it’s not “dirty”, but it also had some things that could use a little better attention. If you have realistic expectations, it’s easy to overlook, this house is great for a couple of families to share. Looks like it is an amazing summer/lake house. A few windows were open upstairs when we arrived so the upstairs was 40F. Once the heat was directed upstairs this was not an issue after the first night. It was freezing the first night. Would stay here again. Any issues were minor. 4/5 overall. Thanks for sharing your place.
Fantastic location on a beautiful lake near Harbor Springs and Petoskey. Good place for very large groups.
Great location
The house is a good size location is excellent but it needs to be deep cleaned inside and out. It needs to be maintained better. Furniture needs to be sturdier mattresses need to be replace pillows need to be replaced cobwebs inside and out. Exterior needs to be power washed garage needs to be cleaned out weeds need to be pulled deck needs to be cleaned up
A review was already submitted.8/25/2023 the place & location was absolutely wonderful, so much to do at location for family fun.first entertaining we were greeted by spider webs around the front door and all over front back porch,..under downstairs tv a good amount of dust has accumulated (floor).over all a wonderful family vacation home.loved it..
This property was absolutely perfect for our extended family reunion. We comfortably slept 4 families and could have fit another! We had kids ranging from age 4-18. The yard was great for late night bonfires, fishing off the dock, or playing football in the grass. Stores are not too far and we easily rented a boat at the marina to dock at the house for the day. Our only complaint was about a few cleanliness issues upon arrival, but the host was very responsive and addressed everything right away. I would definitely stay here again!
Asking your guests to deliver the garbage to an offsite location a few miles away since the cleaning fee is just shy of $300 is excessive. We didn’t mind removing all the sheets from the beds as requested. Lots of spiders. May help to treat for them since it’s next to the water.
Perfect property for a bigger group with younger children. The yard was very large which was great for activities and campfires. Although there wasn't a beach, the lake was very swimmable off of the dock. There were plenty of water toys in the garage, including a large lily pad which the children loved. I don't believe it was noted in the description, but there was an extra refrigerator in the garage. It's always nice to have extra space when there are multiple families. I would absolutely book this property again!
Enjoyed our stay. Wonderful accommodations for the 11 of us.
Stayed while our boys had a baseball tournament in Indian River. It was the perfect place for us and the boys. Tons of room, lots to do, worked out perfect!
We liked location-close to many attractions-and we loved being on the lake.
Everything was great, only minor complaint is the trash situation. Have to drive about 5 minutes to put the trash in a dumpster.
This was the perfect spot for our family: we have 4 grown children and their spouses and 3 grandchildren. We enjoyed skiing, hiking and browsing around Harbor Springs and Petoskey. The house was clean and spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Thanks for adding to our great time!
Overall a great experience for our group business meeting & reunion. 12 of 13 members were able to attend. The house listing was exactly as described. The house met expectations for cleanliness & amenities. The weather was also perfect for the 6 day stay. The only negative takeaways from the group was for getting the tv's to work right to catch football games. Fortunately, we had a tech guy figure things out. So, perhaps having an instruction sheet like the one for trash & checkout would be helpful. The only other negative was that the garage was a bit unorganized with everything piled in the middle. We used a paddleboard and tried out the corn hole boards, but that was about all. Not a huge issue, but just a future suggestion to help with overall first impressions. We do an annual reunion and would very happy to book the house again if it is available. Thanks
Basically while the house location was great the house itself is not being maintained. The house was not properly cleaned.
Location was great. Lakefront with a large deck. We specifically wanted to be on Crooked Lake. Plenty of room. Great experience.
