Family Friendly Lake House

Great peaceful location for our family getaway. Front porch was our favorite area where we played games and ate every meal together. Thanks to the hosts for opening their home to us.

The house was nice and clean. There were 14 members of our family celebrating Christmas at this wonderful house. We really enjoyed the game room. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals for the 2 nights we were there. We would definitely stay there again!

This was the second time we stayed in the lake house and again, it did not disappoint! There was plenty of space for our large family (4 adults and 5 children ages 3-16) and plenty of activities to keep them occupied. The house was clean and well stocked with all essentials. We will definitely be back again!

The place is absolutely beautiful. It was very quiet. It was very clean. If we stay in the area again we will definitely book this place again.

We enjoyed our time at the lake house. Nice and relaxing. The nearby hiking trail was a highlight of our trip to Cullman. Thanks for providing a safe and cozy place for out family vacation.

We were disappointed in the following: 1) The grills were filthy, and no amount of cleaning would have made them usable. We had to go to Walmart and purchase one to grill on.2) The toaster was broken3) The kitchen sink faucet was damaged4) The game room smell was musty and not usable5) I had asked the owner if toilet paper was supplied for the entire group of people for the duration of the stay and was told they supply all for duration. This was not the case. 6) There were damp clothes in the dryer. We didn't discover this until the last day at time of check out. 7) The owner supplied detailed instruction about careful use of kitchen table and counters, etc. When in fact there were scratches and knicks in the table. We did not do any of that damage.

The home was beautiful with its view over looking the lake. The house was clean and comfortable with lots of room. Getting back and forth from town was easy and we enjoyed going to Octoberfest! The water level in the lake was too low for a swim but we enjoyed just sitting on the doc watching the birds.

Spent 4 days with out of town family.The house was perfect Lots of room for everyone to be together and not separate hotel rooms.Highly recommended!!!

Very nice house in a beautiful location on the lake. Communication with owner was excellent. My only concern was the stairs being very steep. The master bedroom and bathroom on the main level was a life saver for our older family member. We had a wonderful time!!

This is our second time staying here and we love it! Plenty of rooms/beds for our group. The teens love the game room and we all enjoy the large porch. My husband grilled every day at the new outdoor kitchen area.

This was our second time staying here. Its a beautiful property and my family really enjoys it. The home was clean with plenty of space for everyone. Im sure we will be back again soon.

We loved the house and property! The bedrooms were very large so everyone had their own space. We had the best week and one of our daughters actually got engaged while we were there. I don’t think the one set of neighbors are happy when renters are there but overall it was really great!

We absolutely had the best time at Tara King's lake house. Other than food and floats, we didn't need much else. Her home was well supplied with everything we needed for a relaxing few days with our big ol' family. House was spotless, beds were comfy and lake was a short walk away. Simply perfect. We'll be back again next year if the good Lord allows.

Great hilltop view of Smith Lake with a private dock for anytime, on-site access to lake below! It’s a lovely, quiet location, has a huge front porch facing the lake AND a private dock. Sitting on that porch with a mug of coffee early in the morning, watching the mist rise from the water, seeing geese forage at lake’s edge… aahhh, what a way to start a day!

It definitely looks a lot bigger on the outside. We also thought there would be 6 individual rooms so that was a little misleading, but overall we really enjoyed our stay. The outside was beautiful and the inside kitchen was perfect.

The house was comfortable and well-decorated. Our family had a nice time.

All in all a great stay.

Overall, the experience was pleasant. Beautiful views, plenty of seating, and all the amenities that one would expect from a lake house. However, the Wi-Fi was extremely unreliable which made very difficult to watch a movie with the family.

The house was in a perfect location for our needs. The owner was responsive to all our needs.

Good house for 5 men. Fair number of stairs to dock but negotiable. Could use more lighting in kitchen. Had to use a flashlight to see stove controls. Great covered porch overlooking water and nice boathouse. All in all a good spot.

Loved how close it was off the interstate! The bedrooms are spacious. It was difficult to determine the bedrooms by the pics. There are 2 individual rooms, which is great for the single adults. And then 2 bedrooms with the additional side rooms which is great for families. So we were happy with our bed space. The kitchen was nicely remodeled. The living area is small inside, but plenty of space outside! The only negative is it would have been nice for the outside area to be blown off or washed off. It is high pollen season, but it still would have been nice for it to be blown upon arrival. There were several spider webs in the corners on outside patio that would have been nice if they were blowen off too along with patio. Otherwise, it was delightful! :)

Parking with a boat was difficult. Dock didnt have power so we used a generator. Plenty of outdoor sitting to enjoy the weather and view.

Was a great time at the lake place the beds weren’t the best but overall we enjoyed the trip.

House is in a great location. Whether it’s boat ramps, grocery stores or food… everything is close by and convenient.

This place was really wonderful, with great views, and very clean! We had a fantastic time relaxing and preparing for our wedding with our wedding party.

We had a short stay but look forward to renting this property again. The home was very clean and communication was great. We didnt have any issues during our stay!

We had a fabulous time, but the size of the living area we felt was misrepresented. I think square footage would have helped. 4 of the 6 rooms were semi-private. It was a tight fit for 19 even though it advertizes sleeps 20.

This is a nice property in a good location. Quiet and peaceful, however it is a bit on the small side. We had a group of 10 and it was a bit cozy.

It was a lovely and clean home that was well equipped. The only issue was with the internet and tv, but it was fine. We were too busy most of the time to notice.

Tara was amazing and her communication was fast if we had anything to ask. The property had plenty of space and porch was very nice/quiet. Game room offered privacy for phone calls since we were in Cullman for my grandma’s funeral. Location was perfect to town and amenities. Plenty of space, beds and overall was excellent for the family considering the circumstances. I would stay again hopefully when weather is warmer and lake is booming with summer sports!!

Location was great with regard to highway access! The porch was lovely, although the furniture cushions could use an update. The one downside was that the kitchen was terribly understocked for the size of the home—there were only 4-6 of any plates, bowls, mugs, etc. I would rent again. Tara was easy to reach when needed. The neighbor across the road was delightful and kind.

Nice home and well cared for. I would recommend. Very good for large families or two families. Lots of beds. Clean and well kept. Not s super fancy home but very comfortable. Here are good things to know. 1. The wifi is through T mobile and very slow. Verizon is spotty there. 2. There were no paper towels or laundry detergent so bring your own. 3. The stairs going to the upstairs bedrooms are steep and the second set is higher than the first so you will stumble. Not great for an elderly person or someone physically impaired. Overall, its a nice quiet neighborhood and it feel very safe.

This place was amazing to wake up. The view of the lake from the front porch was breathtaking. The game room was easy going. The place had plenty of space for guests. Wish I could have stayed longer.

We had a wonderful visit at the lake house. The water was a short walk and very easy to access. (We have stayed in other homes on the lake that were difficult for a grandmother to walk to.) We spent many hours on the front porch, such a beautiful view of the lake at sunrise and sunset. We were a little surprised that a couple of the rooms did not have doors on them, but I may have overlooked that when reading all the specifics. The rooms with no doors may have originally been attic space, but I am unsure.

The house was great and accurately posted. Would recommend and stay here again.

The spot on the lake was perfect, not a lot of boat traffic or even jet ski traffic. The kids could swim all day or jump in an inflatable boat and paddle out with no real worry of water vehicles.

This home was perfect for our group of 10. The view was amazing, the home was clean and well stocked, the location was so convenient to the interstate…..I could go on and on. We will definitely book again!

We loved our stay at this home. The view from the deck is amazing and so relaxing. The cove and dock is perfect for swimming, floating and lounging. We would definitely go back!!

Enjoyed this beautiful location! The home was comfortable, and the private dock was great! It was a quiet and peaceful stay. The only thing I would notify future travelers of is the limit of supplies. We had booked for 5 people and the rental had only 3 sets of silverware. Additionally, the hand soap dispensers in each bathroom and the dish soap were severely diluted soap with water. No dishwasher soap is provided and only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. Come with supplies and save a trip to the store, so you can enjoy this beautiful place!

The property description and instructions were great. It was a very tidy house. Loved the long front porch, the family spent most of the time there.
