Stayed Nov 25, 2025Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was exactly as described in terms of location, layout, and amenities. It was clean, well cared for, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for all nine of us, ages 13 to 75. The kitchen was well stocked, the hot tub was spotless, and the covered deck quickly became one of our favorite places to hang out. Communication with the property manager was easy, and we always felt taken care of.I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family. The only thing I’d suggest is updating the bunkbed mattresses. Our teenage girls tried sleeping in the bunk room the first night but ended up choosing the couch for the rest of the trip. Everything else about the bedrooms was very comfortable, and we appreciated the ample towels, great laundry room, and plenty of parking. The location is truly magical. It’s such a beautiful, simple walk to the beach, and even during a winter storm we still enjoyed a lovely view of the ocean between the houses over the dunes. We also enjoyed so many of our favorite places in town. Big Apple Market is our go-to for groceries. We visited Moxies, Bahama Mama’s Surf Shop, and The Winery at Manzanita. Big Wave Café was great, and Manzanita News and Espresso had delicious drinks. The cortado and the eggnog latte were both fantastic. We also found some great Black Friday and Small Business Saturday deals while we were there.Overall, this rental made our trip relaxing, fun, and so easy. We’ve already reserved future dates and can’t wait to come back.

Stayed Aug 28, 2025Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is fine. It’s a great location that’s super close to the beach. You do have to traverse some dunes to get there (like many spots in Manzanita) so it might not be the best option for people with limited mobility or strollers. Everything in the house was functional and clean, but it’s all pretty worn and dated. The bunk room is waaaaay smaller than we expected from the photos. Lastly, I would NOT recommend using the hot tub. One member of our party noticed the filter showed that it should have been replaced two weeks prior so I stayed out. Four people went ahead and used it anyway and now two of them have a nasty case of folliculitis, an issue with inflamed hair follicles caused by staph bacteria. Eeek!

Stayed Jun 5, 2025We had a great visit to Manzanita for a large family gathering. My family stayed here at the Sitka house and was comfortable for all 14 of us plus one medium size older dog and one small young dog. We really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach and the hot tub. We were able to easily walk via the beach or road (great walking/bike path) to our reunion which was located in a vacation rental downtown. The large kitchen table was perfect for game playing, eating, and building a puzzle. All of the adult beds and futon were comfortable. Bunk beds were satisfactory for kids, but one adult felt pads were too hard. The town of Manzanita is fun with a nice ice cream shop, little boutiques, restaurants, and grocery store. We did NOT have to contact the property manager as we didn’t have any issues that needed to be addressed. Check-in process was easy. Locking code doors functioned well. Our only complaint would be the Odorous House Ants; however, we have two people in the pest control business and realize these insects are extremely hard to get rid of without a consistent schedule. We made sure no food or drinks were brought into any bedrooms and also vacuumed a few times in dining table and living room area to help mitigate this issue. If we go back, I hope the owners will have this issue under control. Overall, we were pleased with the home. Thank you for our enjoyable stay.

I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Sunset made it so easy for us and were responsive to all questions and concerns. The power went out for 36 hours and Sunset kept us posted regarding power coming back on and delivered extra lights for our convenience. Friendly service and easy to work with. The house and furnishings are not high end but very clean and functional. This worked well for our group of 10.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our eighth year annual kiddo and grandbabes Christmas in June beach vacation! This was our first time visiting Mandzanita, Oregon! I am excited to say this was the most relaxing and fun trip we have had. Our entire families new favorite location! The beach felt like our own private place. The trees, along with the beautiful hills and ocean view was wonderful! We are active abd love to crab. Mandzanita was close to a place where we caught crab, they cooked them and we ate right there! Rockaway and Tillamook were fun little spots. But, the stroll in downtown Mandzanitta had everything Papa and I loved. Little shops, bookstore, icecream, just to name a few. From this house we were literally 5 minutes away from town. The house itself was stocked well and with a new BBQ. The hot tub was almost always occupied. The parking was awesome! It's a comfortable house, not too fancy that we worried the kids would break things. Down stairs was a little hangout spot to play games and they enjoyed the little arcade game. The little bathroom down stairs was small and a bit musty, but nothing the kids couldn't manage. We stayed 7 days, eight nights and for the price and the amazing property management team, we left with amazing memories! Thank you so much to Jeffie and Roxanne with Sunset to Sunset for going above and beyond to accommodate us and to ensure a great experience! Roxanne, even called to check in to make sure we had everything!Thank you for sharing this house that felt like home. The Howard family

There was plenty of room for us to eat, sleep, and play. Although the rustic house isn’t new, it was generally well-maintained and clean. Ample parking was also a plus! The beach access was incredibly close and the beach felt very private.

Stayed May 26, 2024Review of our stay: First the positives: Great location, just over the dunes to the beach. On a quiet residential street, no noisy neighbors. Great view from the front windows – beach and sunset Plenty of birds and some wildlife right outside the door. Parking was convenient and adequate The house was clean and neat upon arrival Good communication with Sunset to Sunset Rentals by phone and text, and they are located on the main street in Manzanita Now the negatives: Mr. Coffee maker is old. Get a new one so you can pour coffee while it is brewing. Currently cannot, missing parts in brew basket Bathrooms (all) need new fixtures – most are losing their finish, and look gross Downstairs mini bathroom needs a new shower pan or door. It is not usable, as the water leaks out when in use. We paid for 3 bathrooms, but could only use two. We discovered dog hair on one of the bedspreads after a couple of days – yuck Linens - stains on comforters & sheets in both queen bedrooms, as well as ratty looking towels Refrigerator runs almost continuously, but does keep food cold and makes ice. Again, showing it’s age Kitchen table shows wear (top finish is almost gone). Need refinishing or replacing Clothes washer is also showing it’s age – Rusty and very noisy Conclusion: Overall, this property has great potential, but not in it’s current state. Upgrading, or just maintaining to current standards would justify the current pricing. As it is, it is over priced for the market comparables.
