Joshua Tree, California
Very private 1200 square foot home on 2.25 acres of desert. King bedroom, queen bedroom, full bed and queen futon. Stereo with CD/DVD player, aux cable, toys. Plenty of CDs DVDs and books. Gas fireplace, central heat and air. Full cooks kitchen with utensils, cookware and serving ware. Kitchen is open to living area, so you’re still with the party while cooking. Help yourselves to pantry items, condiments, etc. Yard furniture, Charcoal grill. Please move it away from the house before lighting! Walk the desert roads or hike up Mount Nebo. La Copine on Old Woman Springs Road is a special treat. You can cut over there on Aberdeen. Country Kitchen, Pie for the People pizza, Crossroads Cafe and the Indian food at Sam’s are all excellent. Nomad Ventures climbing outfitter is in town near Park Blvd. Nearby to the Noah Purifoy Museum. The Integratron, and and Gubler’s orchid farm are 10 Miles away. Absolutely the place to let yourself be yourself. This is our weekend place that we are sharing with you. As such, there are pictures of us, some clothing and personal items. It is neither a hotel room nor a corporate rental.
Perfect Joshua Tree location! Feels private and peaceful, incredible star views and unobstructed views, while also being only 15 minutes to the main drag. House has a wonderful energy, Eric was an easy host to communicate with, and we loved playing the keyboard at the house. Unfortunately I do have to mention that the house is in need of a deep clean, as well as some repairs (wall behind toilet in bad shape, chipped paint and cement floor, lots of big spiders have moved...) It did affect our comfort with our toddler. But for someone else this issues may not be a bother. We still enjoyed having a place to rest our heads between being outside at the park.
Far enough out to see brilliant stars. House was clean and comfortable with lots of character. Gas Fireplace a huge plus!
This is our 3rd time staying at this property. The main goal of our trip was to get away from the City. The quiet and solitude makes this place a perfect fit. Thanks again Eric for being our host.
Spacious and comfortable place. Loved the books, games, instruments and toys. It could benefit from a remodel and deep cleaning.
Serene with views. We spent our week hiking in Joshua tree national Park, and on the full moon, we night-hiked from the property up a rocky mountain, roughly a mile from the property for majestic nighttime views. A huge plus for us was the remote nature of the property – it is a brief 10 minute drive from town, but for our family felt nice to have peace in the desert solitude. A couple pros that often go unmentioned: the beds are extremely comfortable! As I approach middle age, nothing can bring down a trip like a bad night of sleep, and I slept like a baby at this property. I actually contacted Eric to find out what the mattresses were ? Eric was very responsive, and we felt very welcome. The living room/hang out area is very warm, comfortable, and it’s good for a small group of people. Having stayed at two other VRBO properties in the area, they were both very nice, but lacked comfortable couches and ‘hang out’ chairs. The inside is colorful, clean, and has a very warm vibe. At the risk of being two new-agey, the place feels like there have been many happy gatherings. Word has it, you shouldn’t feed the neighbors goats! If there were one thing that was maybe challenging, there isn’t a ton of space for dry food. This is irrelevant for most people who go out to eat. For us, we are foodies and like to prepare meals. Kitchen was very functional and was good for preparing meals.. We will definitely return!
Eric's house is a great little escape from, well, everything. We spent a perfect weekend there hiking in the park and relaxing at the house. Thank you!
Friendly and prompt answer from host. Quick visit to Twenty-nine Palms, this place was perfect for our visit. Thank you.
This is the 2nd time my nephew and I stayed at Milky Way. It's somewhat, which is exactly what we were looking for. It's only a 10 minute drive to town. And Eric is a faboulous host.
Once you find the place you’ll love it. The kitchen is well appointed and basically three bedrooms. Due babysitting issues our girls trip turned into kids joining our group. We had everything including baby goats to view. It’s was relaxing place and wonderful star gazing. Thanks Eric for sharing your place with my friends.
Exactly what we were looking for. Away from the hustle & bustle but not too far from park, shopping, restaurants. We enjoyed it!
