Savannah, Georgia
The historic Jefferson House, nestled in a vital and charming Victorian District neighborhood, offers elegant and comfortable accommodations -- 4 bedrooms/4.5 baths -- for up to 8 people. Now with relaxed cancellation/payment policies and enhanced cleaning, the home's central location puts you within a 2 block walk to Forsyth Park, area restaurants, shops and bars. Heading north just a few blocks, the Landmark District begins.
The Jefferson House has been lovingly renovated and retains its historic details and layout. Decorated with simple elegance, this bright and spacious house is furnished with plush, comfortable couches and chairs. Sturdy occasional tables ensure you have a place to set your sweet tea or a glass of champagne, while recessed lights can set the mood for evening. Turn on the many period-appropriate lamps and curl up with one of the books on Savannah or regional history from the library shelves. Or slide up to the breakfast bar in the spacious, bright kitchen with French doors for coffee or lunch and conversation.
Jefferson House retains its triple-parlor first floor, which is perfect for groups large and small. These three areas are open to one another, yet each has its own focal point. Furniture is grouped for intimacy without creating barriers to the rest of the space. Socialize like residents did in the days of yore, with some interacting in the front parlor, and others playing games in the second. Today the "games" might be replaced with a movie on the flatscreen TV, but one thing is certain: each guest can have his or her own space and be able to socialize with those in one of the other parlor areas. The house is perfect for large families, or maybe two families, without stepping on one another's toes. It is popular with wedding groups, "girls'" reunions, family gatherings and marathon runners.
Upstairs the 4 bedrooms all have full baths en suite. One bedroom has its own porch. Each suite is simply decorated for comfort and function. The bedrooms are spacious, with plenty of closet space and a chair for reading or relaxing. (One bedroom features a desk and chair; and there is another desk downstairs for everyone's use.) Fresh linens, quality mattresses and extra bedding and pillows help ensure a good night's sleep. Three bedrooms have queen beds, and one has two twins -- great for kids!
Between the formal dining room and the well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, there is no shortage of places to eat and enjoy each other's company. Casual or formal: the Jefferson House fits the bill.
In addition to being 2 blocks from Forsyth Park, Jefferson House is a short walk to the Landmark District. Here you'll wander through squares lined with amazingly grand historic homes and shaded with sprawling live oaks, draped with Spanish moss. Continue on to superb shopping on lively Broughton Street and the city's many downtown museums, ending at Savannah's famous River Street and the river, where huge container ships come from all over the world.
Had a great stay at this property. Plenty of room for 7 adults, including bathrooms. Had everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. Location was close to restaurants and activities but quiet. Would stay here again.
Excellent stay in a beautiful location. I would note that the balcony in one of the guest rooms locks when it is closed behind someone!
This was a great property for our girls trip. The 5 of us had our own bed and 2 had to share one bedroom and bath. The property was clean and we felt safe in the neighborhood. We we had to contact the property manager she was very quick with her responses. We would recommend this property to others
Having been to Savannah several times and staying in different rentals, this home is a favorite! Ann’s communication w/me was fast and excellent. This home was very clean and we loved all of the nice and comfortable bedrooms for the 5 of us. The kitchen is very nice, spacious, and had everything we needed to cook a nice seafood dinner one evening. It’s in a nice and safe area and we were able to walk to most things we wanted to see and do.
Our second stay in your home. It’s perfect for 5 friends to enjoy lots of laughter and catching up.
Comfortable. Parking convenient, walkable to every where, spacious.
This house was a perfect setting to celebrate our SCAD bee for graduation weekend. I’m hoping to plan another family trip and staying here again is at the top of my list.
It was wonderful! First time using VRBO….hope they are all like this??
House was clean. Nice location. Loved baths in @ bedroom. Small parking space in back. Outside noises i.e. trains cars going by could b loud. Overall a very nice place to stay!!
The house was clean, with plenty of towels and bedding. Very convenient to all of the places we wanted to see including downtown, River front plenty of restaurants.
Met our expectations, very clean. Four women appreciated 4 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. Easy to find. It could have been better stocked and we had trouble with the lock box. Overall, we would stay again.
Easy
Clean, stocked with everything we needed , and the property manager was extremely prompt. The location was great for what we needed, and we loved that there were enough bedrooms to accommodate our family (especially loved that each bedroom had its own bath).
Five girls met 50 years ago . We wanted to get together to learn about our lives and families in the years that have quickly passed. 911 Jefferson was the perfect home to share, laugh and cry together. The home is beautiful, comfortable, well equipped, and convenient to shops and restaurants. We plan to go back again.
Good location . House was clean with lots of space for 5 women. A lot of the top attractions within walking distance.
The property is in a nice area I have been in Savannah numerous times over the past 5 years and this was one of our better houses we stayed in.
This house was perfect for our trip! We had a wonderful adventure to Savannah.
Lovely rental home with plenty of space for all and a good location to many of Savannah’s sites. I only have a few things that were little less than optimal: furniture while nice is in need of new cushions for better support whether in the living room or dining room, the middle bedroom with 2 single beds could use some new mattresses (other rooms were great) & there is a toilet paper holder in the powder room downstairs that can (& did) impale a person if they are not careful. Very pointy and exposed long end is dangerous. Keeping all of this in mind, it was a great value for the money! Really lovely home.
Lovely home in downtown savannah.. Very clean . Had parking for two cars. Would definitely stay here again.
