Elon, North Carolina
Are you in need of a temporary home This fully-furnished country chic house in Elon is a perfect alternative to a long term hotel stay. Our ideal guests are companies/individuals working long term projects in the area; corporations needing housing for sales teams, management teams, executive relocations; owners displaced while building or waiting for a home etc. This lovingly restored farmhouse on four acres close to Elon University offers the perfect setting for families or couples. The owners modernized the home with new appliances and updated bathrooms and added a large deck which overlooks the expansive park-like grounds, perfect for strolling or dog walking. The four bedroom, two bath house features a great room with kitchen and dining area, hardwood floors, laundry room and carport. Two outbuildings from 1948 retain the old farm feel of this property originally owned by the late Woodrow and Frances Smith and their sons. High speed internet and streaming TV in the great room provide the opportunity to watch Netflix or any national network channel from comfortable sofas. Close to a Harris Teeter supermarket and many restaurants, the house is exceptionally quiet, even with the occasional soothing sounds of a passing train. During warm months, the owners have a self-service flower stand out front which sometimes features fresh vegetables. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Comfortable beds and luxuriously soft sheets make this a home away from home, not to be missed! (Note that one bedroom must be walked through to enter the master bedroom/bath, unless you use the exterior door on deck to exit the master.) No cats, no smoking inside house.
When I booked this home I read all the good reviews which lead me to book this place. Now I’m starting to think people who want to leave an honest review are either afraid to or just don’t bother. I feel it’s right to leave an honest review. Let me start with the good points. This home is very close to Elon which is nice and why we choose it. We liked the open floor plan and weren’t bothered by the fact that we had to walk through one bedroom to get to the master. The owner was nice and good about replying to messages. Now, what needs to be improved. The house is in dire need of updating. The doors and locks on sun porch and master bedroom doors did not close properly and lock well. My kids were scared to sleep in the sunroom because of this. The patio furniture and most furniture in general looked like it hadn’t been updated in years. The place seemed generally to be clean but the master bed had black hairs all over the sheet so we need to wash it. Comforters are not washed after each guest so we brought our own blankets (owner was honest about this when I asked which I appreciated). Dining table, hairs and stains on seats. Patio roof is rotting and needs to be repaired. The owner was around the property while we were there working on another place which sits behind this one. That was a bit odd in general but not a big deal. Old food in cabinet and poor pans for cooking. Others mentioned train nearby. This did bother us the first few nights but eventually we got used to it.
The perfect spot for family time with our Elon student!
Interesting and comfortable old farm house that has been nicely updated inside. Comfortable beds. Located on a busy street but there is a nice area with a lawn and interesting old buildings to walk the dogs behind the house, Driveway is a little hidden and house is difficult to find in the dark, it would help to leave the lights on when people are arriving, We cooked some meals and kitchen had everything we needed. I would just recommend fixing the exhaust fan and light over the stove because the whole house smelled like bacon after our breakfast! It would also be nice to be able to use the gas fireplace. The house is convenient to lots of stores, restaurants, parks, etc. Train goes by every few hours even overnight but it's short and not too loud and didn't bother us, We definitely recommend this house!
Superb stay at a great house. Awesome location for being near campus.
This house was perfect for us and exactly as advertised
Beautiful home, very spacious and accommodating for our large family!! Everything was wonderful!!
We look forward to staying here again!
Thank you so much for a perfect place to stay during move in weekend! This was wonderful for unloading all of the things that needed to be assembled and organized to move our son into Elon! Highly recommend.
This turned out to be the perfect location for us while in town for a sporting event! It was even better than the pictures! We were skeptical at first given it is in town and right next to an apartment complex…however, it was super clean and quiet! Elon is a very charming area and a nice tuck away from the hustle and bustle but close to it all! Highly recommend!!
We really were very pleased with 922 E. Haggard. The house is very cozy and perfect for my two daughters, myself and husband. We had everything we needed. The king size bed is a huge plus for us. Some rentals do not have king beds. It was quiet here and private. We thank Clint and Rebecca for being there for us.
We enjoyed all aspects of the property; the farm like setting, the well designed spaces and furnishings, the usefulness of the kitchen and rooms. Even the laundry came in handy
We enjoyed our stay. The house had everything that we needed (except a skillet). We were in town visiting our son who is a senior at Elon University. The house was in the perfect location to the campus and his apartment.
Was a nice house in a good location with comfortable beds
