Stayed Jul 23, 2025I would love to give this property five stars but I do agree with other people that it needs some updating. The woman who was the manager of the property was fantastic. She was very fast to respond, very helpful, very patient. She was also very accommodating with some extra requests we had.The grounds and view were absolutely beautiful. The patio was our favorite place. So peaceful, pastoral, quiet, and relaxing. I read for a couple hours out there with my dog, who lay in the yard, sniffing the air and being lazy and restful. We had a small issue with a toilet leaking and she had a plumber out so fast and effectively, it was amazing.I couldn't figure out the master shower and she patiently explained it.I do think there could be some updates to just make it more welcoming. The front patio screen door is really beat up and won't latch effectively so don't trust your pets to stay in with it.The windows are not easy to open to get air circulating and to cool the house off but once they are open and fans are placed, it's very nice in the evenings. Cool and comfortable. The master shower controller is kind of tricky and I was afraid I'd break it because it's older. We chose not to use the basement. It's clean and nice but a little dark and older with no egress windows. The entire house was very clean. No complaints about that at all. Nicely cared for.Overall, we had a wonderful stay, it's in a beautiful place and very close to town but in the country as well.

Stayed Jul 1, 2025I have a hard time complaining about this but the Thayne rental was not acceptable. The downstairs is an unfinished basement, 3/4 underground, nothing in the description tells this. The mattress on larger bed is like a hammock, the other bed slightly better. It is musty downstairs, dead bugs on the floor, the pressure tanks for the water system are not enclosed and when they go off they wake you up. I understand why they don't have any pictures of the downstairs bathroom with the exposed plumbing and curtain covering the pressure tanks. The stairs are steep going down, the three people over 65 did not feel safe navigating them and they have no problem with normal stairs. The flooring at the top of the stairs was sawed off and never covered, scrapes your toes if you slightly misjudge your step. The controls to the decent sized shower upstairs had failed before we arrived, but unfortunately since it was a holiday weekend it could not be repaired and I was given a 200 credit. The downstairs would not pass building inspection in any of the states I have lived in.

Stayed Jul 8, 2025This was a great experience. Our first time as a family staying at someone else home but it was exactly what we needed. Our dog loved the yard and our kids love how close we were to Jackson Hole. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your home!!

Stayed Feb 12, 2025Was a perfect place to stay on our snowmobiling trip. It is located perfectly between a lot of the drop spots and had a big driveway to back our trailer down. All 4 of us had our own bedroom. There were many places to sit around and talk about the riding we did that day. We will be looking to book here again next year.

Stayed Jul 23, 2024We thought the house was perfect size to fit our size family; 3 teenagers and 4 adults. It is close enough to ride your ATV/UTVs to town and to many public trails. However, after long days of riding our ATV and UTVs in the mountains we come home to a very hot house and only enough hot water for 2 people to shower (short showers) at a time; took over an hour for the water to heat back up for another 2 more people to shower. Took hours for all to shower before turning in. Please note this important detail … there is NOT an AC in any part of the home (but even window units) so every night (14 days) the nighttime temps in the house was stagnant 75-85 degrees! It was uncomfortable to sleep many nights even with multi fans and windows open. Also there are rips and tears in the window screens so we had bugs, flys, and mosquitoes in the home while trying to cool it down. The basement was cooler however had a musty / wet smell… we did discover a dead chipmunk under a bed. That happens in the woods! We were there in Late July so use this info if booking in later summertime. It was adequately stocked with all the kitchen paper products, seasoning, the basics to cook as well as plenty of toiletries, linens, etc. about an hour to get to Jackson Hole area if that’s your thing. The porch was nice to sit on but we couldn’t pull the owing out bc we didn’t want to diatribe a lovely Robin and her nest. We love Star Valley!

Stayed Jul 3, 2024The property the home sits on is fabulous. The home was mostly clean but a few spiders and other insects in the home. The basement could use some updating but overall a nice property. The only issue was the sewer/septic backed up in the utility room when 2 people took showers at the same time
