We enjoyed our stay. The property and home are beautiful. The location is great - both close to everything and just a step off the path, providing great quiet and beautiful scenery. Deer, bunnies, birds, beautiful stargazing and a wonderful evening “symphony” in the trees added to the charm of this home and property. Kitchen was well-stocked and easy enough to prepare foods. Comfortable, clean beds. The modern amenities in this home compliment ans do not interfere with it’s pioneer-era authenticity. Loved staying here and would stay again.

We were four mid-seventies women. We requested 4 beds. In the pictures, it appeared that there was a queen size bed and 3 single beds. The one bed was a junior bed. There was a blow-up bed that had to be brought downstairs. It was a lovely old house, but not really age appropriate for us. There were throw rugs throughout the house, which was a tripping hazard. We found it difficult to find outlets to charge our phones, tablets and watches and the coffee pot. The notes were very helpful. We were a little concerned when it mentioned rodents. Luckily, we didn't see any. Overall, it was a charming house and we appreciated the antiques.

Fun, different, pioneer experience. I didn’t see any checkout guidance otherwise everything was clear. Thanks!

We had a wonderful anniversary trip to Nauvoo. The historic and quaint Mix House added some period charm to our stay. While the house retains much of its 19th century charm, it has the modern conveniences needed for a relaxing stay. It may have been the off season, but food and meal choices were limited in Nauvoo itself. We were grateful for the items we ordered from The Apron Bake Shoppe.

This house is so fun! It might be the best place to stay when visiting Nauvoo. It’s an old, old home that really gives a sense for how folks lived in the 1800s.

The property was exactly as listed. This property is immaculate. I love the fact that you can look up on the 2nd floor and see the original rafters. There are some quirks such as no electrical outlets in the downstairs bathroom, (or that I saw easily) However I would stay again. This home is close to 200 years old and in amazing condition, just beautiful! The hosts were responsive when needed! Super comfy beds as well.

Staying at the Mix House made our experience even better! We had a rental car so driving back and forth from Historic Nauvoo was a breeze! The views, comfort, and charm enhanced our trip so much! When we come again we will stay at the Mix House!

This property was perfect for the added step back in time experience we were seeking. The home and property allowed us to explore and experience a simple lifestyle and the ability to gather as family for mealtimes when we wanted to stay in for breakfast and dinner. It is close to the historical parts of Nauvoo, making it easy and quick to see the many sites and tours available.

Nauvoo was a mid point ti meet a family member and continue work on our family tree. The historical site was the main reason we chose Nauvoo. A little search on Vrbo, we found a historic home to stay in. What a treat! The rental was beyond the price point we usually seek but the home was the cherry on top of a wonderful visit. Very nice property
