Exceptional 4bed/3bath Rancher Lake Wallenpaupack

This property was overpriced. As other reviews noted, the basement bedroom had a sharp musty odor - also, the ceiling was not finished in the basement; you could see the insulation through a hole in the ceiling. There was a humidifier in the basement but it did not alleviate the smell. Several of the pans were not clean (literally had food and/or grease on them) and some of the mugs were not properly cleaned (i.e. coloration came off when I washed them). The kitchen is not properly stocked; I could not find even one cereal bowl and had to eat from a mixing bowl. The paint was peeling on the sinks and showers; the house had not been properly renovated in a few decades. While the picture makes the property look private, it is surrounded by houses on all sides with a noisy road nearby. At breakfast, we sat outside staring at two cars in the neighboring driveway and a bunch of houses. If you are looking for a tranquil retreat in the woods, this is not it. We might have overlooked one or more of these issues at half the price but at this price point, we expected more. The house is spacious, if a bit oddly laid out, but is not a proper 4 bedroom. It was clean apart from the dirty dishes which were pretty gross.

We enjoyed our stay here. Bedroom in the basement has a musty smell. The light switches are very confusing even though they are labeled and we had to clean the grill before using it. But overall it was a comfortable place to stay and we enjoyed our time here.

The house was perfect for our stay! The large patio area and fire pit was a favorite gathering spot. The kitchen has updated amenities and the dining room and living room were large. The screened in porch was nice for relaxing in the morning and evening. The bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely appointed and clean. The house is located near marinas and restaurants. The owners and management were very responsive. We hope to come back again soon!

8 of us stayed here for my bachelorette party and it truly was the perfect spot. There was plenty of space for all of us to hang out and sleep comfortably. We were able to walk down to the lake with our floats and check out the view of the lake from the house. Everything was extremely clean (normally I’m a little neurotic about renting) and this place was sparkling. The only negative was the fact that we had to leave hah seriously this place is great

There are really only 2 bedrooms. The other two are an open loft over the family room and a mostly finished ( but still has exposed insulation) basement. Otherwise it’s a lovely house and a lovely property. Fully screened in porch was a favorite and the patio was a great spot too.

We had a great trip! The house is very convenient to marinas and restaurants while still being on a quiet private drive. The house was very clean and had plenty of amenities. We had an excellent dinner at Overboards. The ice cream at The Dairy Twist in Hawley was delicious. We would rent this house again.

The house was very clean and nicely decorated! The owners thought of everything as far as amenities. It was nice that each bathroom had hand soap, bath gel, shampoo and conditioner. We enjoyed the large patio and fire pit. The bedrooms were spread out. There was a large living room and screened in porch. You could see the lake a bit from the porch and some other rooms. The basement was great as a separate hangout area. The dining room was large and we could all fit easily for meals. It was nice having a laundry room. There is a short trail that leads to the lake. It is very close to Pine Crest Marina which has boat rentals if needed.

Time to rest but my hus and was still able to answer enough work emails that he could keep from being bombarded when he went back to work. Lots of room. Loved the very large capacity washer and dryer. I wasn't going to do laundry on vacation but couldn't resist being able to do so much in one load. Loved the out door space and used the fire pit 3 times. We had a wonderful time
