Peeling paint and wallpaper. Holes in the wall, flaking metal and rust on most surfaces. One packet of dishwasher detergent for 4 days and 7 people. The shower divertor was broken and knobs wouldn't turn off water. They did fix diverter immediately but you had to try to line up knobs and hope it didn't drip as soon as you left. Location was great but for the money not worth it. We have visited Gulf Shores for the last 5 years and this was the worst place we have stayed.

Enjoyed our stay! Beautiful beach view! Some areas of rust and minor maintenance needed. Overall nice place to stay.

We just spent a week here with our dog and would give it 4 out of 5 stars. The location is unbeatable. It is right on the beach with spectacular views and a very private feel. You can walk straight onto the sand.This is not a sleek, updated condo. It is a private beach house that could use a few cosmetic updates, but that did not lessen our enjoyment. You can't beat the price for a private house right on the sand. It was not nearly as bad as some reviews suggested, and quite a few deck boards appear to have been replaced. The deck is huge, though outdoor seating is limited to four lightweight Adirondack chairs and one lounger. They were really hard for this older couple to get in and out of. No screened in porch anymore, and photos are outdated.Bring coffee, spices, and pantry staples. There is nothing consumable provided. That's clear in the contract, but it was still very inconvenient to drive all day and then have to go shopping. There is both a Keurig and regular coffee maker, plus a crock pot, air fryer, blender, 4-slot toaster, and nice microwave/convection oven. Pots were fine; pans were not. I had to buy pans. No blow dryer. The grill was the biggest disappointment. It is an old, rusty charcoal grill that is not very usable.There is a bonus bathroom downstairs, so three total, and plenty of parking. Great price, great location, great rental company. We loved it! We would absolutely stay again.

Location was amazing! Home has a great layout but needs updating. The management company was great and responded right away with more mixing bowls and fixing the garbage disposal

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We absolutely love the Hideaway and each time we walk up those steps, we feel like we are home. The view of the sea is spectacular and we spend most of our hours on that deck! Thank you, also, for the new Keurig coffeemaker. Thank you for being pet-friendly and being so easy to schedule our vacations with you. Really means a lot. We are big fans and hope to be able to rent the Hideaway several times each year in the future. Thank you again for our wonderful experience.

We absolutely loved the charm of the beach house. I didn't give a 5 star rating solely based on the repairs it needed. The cleanliness was top notch and the communication from booking to checkout was perfect. This house is not for everyone, but if you want a REAL beach house experience, this is it! I'll take the hideaway over a condo any day! And our son's dog gives it 5 bones!! We were not disappointed!!!!

Pictures were from several years ago before deferred maintenance. I should have gotten what I paid for or paid for what I got. On a positive note, AC, water pressure and pillows were good.

Pictures and property details need to be updated to reflect current conditions. The deck is a major safety hazard that needs to be addressed.

Property was very clean and inside was in good shape. Only reason not a five star rating is outside needed a little wood upkeep and painting. Did notice a few wall plugs didn't work and advised the property manager and they were very prompt in addressing the problem. Will definitely stay at this property and with this host in the future.

I have already submitted comments to you through email. While we loved the location and the layout of the house, the house itself is in poor condition and not well equipped.I do not think I will rent from cricket properties again. I do not believe we got a good value for what I paid. Thank you!

This house is in a great location with easy access to the beach. Needs some major cosmetic fixes which I can get past but the deck is a little to look past. At the beach you are mainly barefoot. The boards are goi g bad and the nails are pushing up pretty bad. I wanted to book again for the same time next year but was concerned what condition the deck would be in by the, so I haven’t. We had a great time in the house and happy to have been able to use it though.

Back deck had nails coming out and wood coming up. Could use a little fixing up. House was clean. Reported a TV not working and response was fast but wasnt fixed before we left. Would stay again for location and price was not bad.

While the inside of the house seemed pretty clean, this was not the case. The floors were very gritty and sandy when we checked in. All the cupboards in the kitchen were very sticky, and we seen cockroaches the size of silver dollars. The outside of the house is horrible. There is paint peeling everywhere, And the deck is in such horrible shape. You cannot walk on it with bare feet because there are nails sticking up everywhere and bad boards everywhere. The little bit of furniture they have on the deck is in terrible shape and very dirty. To say the very least, my wife and I were very disappointed in what we received for what we paid.We do not get to go on trips like this very often, so it was very disappointing

Overall this property was nice. The location was amazing. Some things are a little outdated but overall we had a great stay. We were worried by reading recent reviews, but we did reach out to the property management and they informed us areas of concerns had been fixed. Some boards in the deck were old but a lot of new boards had been recently put down. The furniture in the living area is different from the photos, but the property management had also ensured me new furniture had been put in before our arrival. We were a group of 7 and we all slept comfortably and had no real complaints. Only suggestion I would make is to bring extra seating for the deck if you are a large group as there are not many chairs outside.

We arrives to this house on the ocean, and it was awful. We knew it needed some TLC bases on passed reviews but this was awful. Wood rotting, sticky surfaces, dirty furniture with rips in it. Boards up on the deck. Once I spoke with the property manager she switched us to a beautiful clean place down the road. She was by far the best, great to communicate for us and all the kids we needed to pack up. But the owner needs to demolish this place, it’s like a scary movie.

The property is in a great location close to the city center and the beach but still has a lot of privacy!

Overall our stay was okay, it was in rougher shape than what the photos showed. For example, knobs on the showers looked pretty gross (the older clear ish kind that looked to have black stuff in them). The shower curtain was speckled with what I assume was mildew and had some staining. The location was the saving grace, as far as the house itself I don’t think we would rebook. Would like something that felt cleaner.

Only thing I would recommend is more patio furniture to accommodate the number of feet it sleeps.
