Stayed Apr 5, 2026Absolutely beautiful place inside and out. Very modern and artistically decorated Casita. Outdoor space and furniture and grill were all clean and comfortable. I have stayed in many places between Escalante and Boulder, UT and this is by far my favorite place. Brett is a great host and responded immediately to all my questions. Short drive to the North Creek Grill for modern gourmet food with great outdoor dining space.

Stayed Nov 6, 2025My family and I loved staying here. My 6 year old daughter said it was “her favorite place we have stayed” and we’ve stayed in some pretty nice places. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking needs, the location of the casita is perfect, and no detail was spared in the design and decor. I really loved the small touches of all of the dinnerware and artwork being made and done by the owner himself! We spent hours just exploring behind the casita climbing rocks and the cool little slot canyon. We will definitely be back!!

Stayed Sep 29, 2025This place was incredible! From the serene surroundings to the delightful interior everything was simply perfect. We loved the layout and brightness of this house as well as all the special touches; gorgeous hand made pottery, beer and water in the refrigerator, snacks on the counter, crocks to wear inside, espresso machine with pods, tea, spices, soft towels, super comfortable beds, laundry with soap ( awesome since we were hot and sweaty from our daily hikes in the Grand staircase National Monument), high quality soap and shower products, and an awesome outdoor firepit to relax by and gaze at the night sky! Super easy access to town and the park but far enough outside to enjoy the peace and quiet and outstanding views as you watch the sun set and rise each day. You’ll absolutely LOVE this place!

Stayed Jul 10, 2025Clean, well-furnished/equipped modern house in a stunning location. The property description is perfectly accurate - the casita is relatively compact at 740 sq ft., and the second bedroom is a loft overlooking the main living area. And it's gorgeous, with big picture windows, very comfortable furniture and bedding, excellent wifi and air-conditioning, and very functional kitchen and bathroom. It worked well for our group of 3 friends, and would be ideal for a family or one or two couples. Snacks and drinks were thoughtfully provided for our stay, and Brett's artistic touches, including his own stoneware, create a wonderful ambience to the place. If you are looking for isolated but not remote this is the ideal place - seemingly in the middle of nowhere but just 10 minutes from the coffee shops and restaurants of Escalante, and within relatively easy reach of the amazing scenery Bryce Canyon NP, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Capitol Reef NP, and the Hole in the Rock road. We loved our stay!

The tasteful decor humbly allows the breathtaking views remain the focal point.

Stayed Jun 6, 2025My wife and I were looking for a beautiful, quiet place to stay at while we explored the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and the Escalante Casita was perfect. The home has all the modern amenities you would expect and even a few you wouldn't. We appreciated the attention to detail the host put into it. The views are peaceful and expansive. It is minutes from Escalante and central to all of the sites we wanted to explore. The host is available, gracious and helpful. This place will not disappoint you. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely return when our busy lives allow.

Stayed May 29, 2025The listing for the SaltBrush Casita describes it as a Escalante Monument Casita with an Expansive View, but that doesn't begin to describe it. It's astonishingly beautiful there, both day and night. My husband is a night sky photographer, and he's never found a better location to shoot. The skies are gorgeously clear and nearly completely free from light pollution. The national monument and other nearby landscapes provide for dramatic photographic settings, of course, but thanks to its desert location, even the casita's back porch makes for a perfect spot to set up a tripod. (See below.)Brett was very knowledgeable, friendly, and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. 10/10 experience, day or night.

Stayed May 24, 2025We had a wonderful stay at Brett's lovely property. The Casita was so clean and set up with many thoughtful touches. To name a few, Crocs of various sizes to wear indoors, snack bars for grab on a day for hiking, various of drinks in fridge all cool and nice, Ziploc bags, foil, full range of seasonings and a bag of ice in freezer. Brett left a hand written note and a hand made welcoming gift. It felt at home or even better. Our daughter loved sleeping in the loft, playing card games, and exploring the little slot canyon behind the Casita. We loved waking up to the beautiful view -- it was a perfect home base for exploring around Escalante. We can't wait until our next visit!

Stayed Apr 30, 2025This very new Casita is so nice! It’s a new home that is laid out very nicely with a beautiful view. After hiking some of the many local trails, we enjoyed relaxing in this quiet, comfortable, well appointed home that has everything you might need (grill and fire pit in the back; full laundry; fully equipped kitchen; artistically appointed decor (mostly owner/host created); and even comfortable house crocs to wear in the home). The host is very friendly and accessible - if you’re considering staying here, look no further. This is where we’ll stay when we return to the area!Oh, and if you want to squeeze in some short hiking/exploring before leaving the home, the “backyard” is a large accessible hillside for some fun hiking with views and potential artifact discoveries.

Stayed Apr 18, 2025Our experience at the casita over a long weekend was simply superb. Everything about the casita feels curated, starting with the sitting and window placement to maximize desert canyon views. The space and layout is cozy but with enough room for individuals spread out. The casita is fitted with top notch equipment throughout and has everything one would need. Brett, the host, is an artist and photographer and his ceramics housewares and photos throughout the casita add a unique sense of place like no other. Brett's communication before during, and after our stay was responsive and personal, and the personal touches added to welcome guests were something I'd never experienced before. The casita is also perfectly placed for exploring everything the area has to offer visitors, too. We will definitely be back.

In addition to a stunning location and view, the place was very tastefully decorated and fully appointed, especially the kitchen- which we appreciated to be able to cook all our meals. The host Brett was quite responsive and a really nice guy, as well as creating gorgeous pottery. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water, easy heating/AC, and i’m gonna say it again, a stunning view. Stayed Mar 14, 2025We just left from a two day stay at this amazing home. It’s comfortable, brand new and beautifully done. There’s lots of art and natural wood, with fun touches like some of the owner’s hand-made pottery in the kitchen cupboards. There’s a full kitchen, which was great since a lot of the restaurants in Escalante hadn’t opened yet for the season. The bed is super comfortable and we woke up every morning to the sun lighting up the cliffs right behind the house. Beautiful. The south side of the house is almost all windows so the view from the living room is breathtaking all day. One night we used the grill and sat around the gas fire pit on the patio, which is right below the cliffs behind the house. The location is ideal. It’s so quiet but we were still only about five minutes from Escalante. The owner is kind and was quick to respond to the couple of questions we had. Two thumbs up!

From the beautiful finish work throughout, to the hand-thrown pottery mugs and bowls in the cupboards, to the creative photography on the walls, to the surprise find of an artistically hung tumbleweed, every detail of this space has been lovingly considered and executed. We loved how clean, cared for, and close to town it was, and took advantage of all its amenities, while thoroughly enjoying the rock hillside in the back yard, the quiet, and the house’s unique personality. This guest house reminds me of a high-end boutique hotel: well-designed, alluring, and a complete delight to spend time in.Check-in was seamless, and host communicated clearly and quickly.
