Stayed Jan 25, 2020My husband and I are recently retired, and for our first experience renting through VRBO, we couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. The home is exactly as it's represented, and the owners thought of every need we could possibly have. We had family and friends stay with us off and on during our stay, and they were all very impressed and pleased with the accommodations. The home's location is in a small, quiet, friendly neighborhood. We were able to conveniently walk or bike to several places. (We really enjoyed the Lazy Lobster under the tiki hut.) Any time that we were home we spent outside - on the screened back porch or in the private back yard. It certainly beats the Maine winter weather! Overall we were very happy with Beth and Ray's home. Our only disappointment is that their home is already rented for part of the time we'd like to be here next year. We really appreciate Beth, Ray and their family's generosity in sharing their home with us. Terry and Bill

Stayed Feb 4, 2019We rented this house for nearly a month and a half, the location was great for its proximity to John Pennekamp State Park and had a quiet neighborhood with boat access. Overall the neighborhood was quiet and was great for walking around and was nice and close to the paved trail along highway 1. There were definitely some things that could use some change in this house. The closets were jam packed with stuff, whenever we had guests visit they always mentioned this. There was only room to put anything in the master closet, the other two bedrooms had useless closets. The kitchen was so overloaded with stuff when we got there that there was nowhere to store food. Being there for an extended stay I had to clean out a cabinet in order to have room for food. This place also could use a new coffee maker, the one that was provided was terrible, grounds in the coffee all the time and it looked so dirty. The TV’s in this house are also terrible quality, normally on a vacation this wouldn’t be something I notice but staying for so long we definitely utilized the TV’s. Streaming service was not compatible with the TV in the living room and cut off part of the picture. The TV in the bedroom was terrible with playing DVD’s, the display was always off. The screen door on the front was missing the latch when we got there and was very loudly banging closed all night long. The washer proved to be a big problem, it ruined not one but two full loads of laundry with what I can only describe as grease stains. There were black/brown stains all over my clothes, after many attempts to get the stains out I had to throw away my clothes. There was absolutely nothing in the wash that could have caused this other than the washer, I triple checked everything to determine the cause. So frustrating! Also, BEWARE we were charged for ‘blood’ on the sheets on the twin beds. One of these beds was never slept in! I can only surmise that the cause of this was again the washer staining the sheets, thought I was being good renter by washing the sheets only to be smacked with a huge fee upon returning home!

Stayed Jun 10, 2018Nice quiet area, absolutely no issues. House is very well laid-out and convenient to everything you need. Excellent communication. Close to water (2-3 blocks) but water access is limited to a small boat basin. We found this to be a general issue in the Keys - if your VRBO is not ON the water, access TO the water (including sights and sounds) is quite limited. Either houses are built on the water or it is totally impassable mangroves - very few public access points. John Pennekamp park is just around the corner and has wonderful water access (including 3 nice beaches and fishing) for just a few dollars a day and offers boat, kayak, diving, snorkeling, etc. A real jewel!

Stayed May 15, 2018This house was perfect! We had plenty of room for all 6 of us and enjoyed drinking coffee in the morning on the front porch. Beth was so awesome and quick to respond when I had questions. She recommended several great restaurants and we tried them all. The house had all you need and was truly a home away from home. Would definitely book again!
