Enchanting mountainside home with 2 decks and forested views

Great views, nice place.

The home is lovely and accommodates a lot of people. The driveway is STEEP and the house is at the end! Even rain made our tires spin! Lovely great room, open kitchen area. Well stocked kitchen. Our biggest disappointment was the hot tub was broken! They did compensate us. Some deferred maintenance but they have a new property manager and I think that will take care of it! Enjoyed skating and skiing. Good places to eat nearby. Enjoyed the alpine roller coaster just up the road. First time skiers had a blast!

Arrived just after 4 pm check in time and cleaning crew was still cleaning and told us we had to wait outside until they finished. It was snowing heavily and we had 4 children with us. I found this extremely unexceptible. We sat in our cars after a 6 hour drive in a snow storm waiting fo them to finish cleaning the house.

Overall, we left disappointed - it was not a bad stay, but with better communication from the host, our stay could have been significantly better. The house is good and location is great. Very close to sugar mountain, cute cabin with plenty of room. However, there is very little communication from the host - which was the biggest frustration for us. Upon arrival, there are not clear instructions for getting into the home. The instructions indicate there is a keypad on the door, but there is actually a lockbox that you have to search for, with physical keys. There are no instructions on how to use the stovetop, which is not self explanatory . The hot tub was not working. I had no idea how to use it or turn it on, as there are no instructions or visible power switch and the front panel with the buttons was not on. It did not look well maintained. I reached out to the host via Vrbo and through Vacasa directly & received no response. I reached out the again next day and spoke with someone , that told me, very unenthusiastically, that they would put in a ticket for that day for someone to come out . I specifically asked if I would hear from someone that day, and was told that I would. However, again, I never heard back. Due to this, we were unable to use the hot tub during our stay. There were no kitchen towels or toiletries in the bathrooms. Due to how cold the outdoor temps were, we were unable to use the basement bunk room as there is no central heating in basement.

We had a great time and the house was just as described. The driveway is very steep and people should be warned that they at least need all wheel drive to get out in the winter time.

Comfortable and cozy

Geat property with awsome views. Other than some hot tub issues everything was pertect. Parking was a little tricky (steep driveway) but we managed fine.

It was not as expected The house was very dirty outside and inside. The dishes in the kitchen, skillets and pots were very oily and not cleaned. Spider webs, and lots of leaves on the porch. On the second floor clogged sink. The sitting benches in dining room were stained. The ground floor had very bad mouldy smell. The couches had crumps on them. Just overall not very pleasant. We had guests and it wasn’t a nice experience. House needs some deep cleaning and some love.

Everything was as advertised, thank you to the reviews for telling us how steep the driveway was so we weren’t surprised. The space and amenities we needed. Excellent customer service. Any question or request I had was answered in a timely manner.

Everything was fantastic. The space was very accommodating for our group. We would certainly book again. The space is very open and great to feel apart of a group the entire time. There was also enough space to separate out into smaller groups for games and relaxing. The hot tub was perfect. Clean and cozy. The beds were comfortable. We wish there had been more trash bags provided as there was only what was in the trash can and we hadn’t considered having to bring our own. There was also enough towels for us by basically the exact number. It would have been nice to have had more since there was a hot tub.

This house owner does not furnish kitchen towels nor pot holders! The house has 1 coat hanger in each closet! The upstairs toilet BROKE and it took an act of congress to have a man come replace the parts- 15 hours later! Much to our disappointment being that we had 5 ladies in this Twin Bjorn house!

The oven was replaced with a new induction type and there were no pits to use at the house. It only used a certain type of pot and there aren’t any there.

Numerous issues make this a “No stay” location in the future.1. No ice melt provided for a steep driveway. Even if an extra charge it should have been available for the guests.2. Kitchen stove was apparently and inductive system so only 2 small pans and 1 pot would work. And no instructions provided about how to adjust if it was possible3. Game room was a disaster even though the pictures looked great. All pool sticks were broken so playing pool was near impossible. The video game system was not intuitive to figure out(again no instructions).4 the main floor sound bar did not work so all TV had to be watched without the sound bar. It was useable but again, not as advertised5. The main floor fireplace was not intuitive to use. Took a while to figure it out.6. The pictures of the driveway are grossly misleading…this is a very steep driveway so be aware7. The wi-fi never worked!!!Many if these issues could be alleviated with some form of welcome book with instructions.For the amount charged, this was a disappointing stay and not a good value for the money. It is apparent no one lives in this house when not rented as many of these items would be observed by someone that stayed for an awhile.

Very nice cabin for a long weekend with friends. The hot tub was the perfect way to wrap up a day of hiking. Very spacious! The hotel style toiletries is a very nice touch.

Great location and property. Housekeeping and property manager needs to up their game making sure all areas are clean and all amenities are operational.

The house and location was great with a few maintenance issues with help from the property manager except, “we will send someone over to check it”. The main bathroom facing the front door didn’t lock, which was an issue with four children under 9. The kitchen sink facet was made to stretch around like it was on a spring. The clamp to hold it in place was broken. We finally had to tie it with a string. We wrote a note to the property manager shortly after we arrived and talked with them twice. It was never fixed. The bathroom lock turned out to be a real issue to the point of adults not being able to use it. Again, let me say again, the house itself was great.

We had family come from all over NC and central TN to hike Grandfather Mountain at my 74-year-old aunt’s request—she wanted to do it one more time. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate (it rained much of the weekend). But we had a great time. The house was large enough to spread out, the kitchen table was perfect for playing cards, the game room was a big hit, and the hot tub was so relaxing. My 2 year-old grandson loved the giant legos! The house was clean and had what we needed. The only issues we ran into were with the large coffee pot (the water wouldn’t drip into the carafe whe using the plastic basket), the kitchen faucet (the magnet that holds the faucet in the holder appears to be gone, we tied it in place), and the lock to release the deadbolt wouldn’t work when we tried to lock the front door at checkout. After a quick call to Vacasa we were able to get the key from the lockbox and lock the door. All in all, these were only minor inconveniences and we had a great time!
