Elk View Cabin in Boxley Valley - 5 min to the Buffalo River!

The house was hospital clean. Spacious. Nice back yard for my dog.

The cabin was just what I was looking for. Everything was very clean and comfortable. Nice area, very quiet and relaxing. The owner answered my questions quickly. Only booked one night, hope to come back for a longer stay soon.

Everything was just fine except the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all with our phone carrier. Guess disconnecting for a couple days was good though. Bathtub was also super slippery for old people like us. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen was equipped with everything needed and the scenery was terrific.

An incredible location that allows for floating down the Buffalo River, lounging, or viewing the Milky Way at night! Strongly recommend!

Wonderful atmosphere and experience

It was clean. Beds was comfortable. Most every thing you needed for the stay. Elk viewing short distance from the house. Saw lots of elk both days we was there.

We loved the convenience to the Elk.Everything was clean. It was equipped with anything we needed. Communication was great with host but we needed nothing during our stay. Would definitely stay here again. We would plan better though as there it's really remote from shopping or eating establishments .

We had an amazing time during our quick weekend stay in the Boxley Valley. First thing I will say is that the host(s) are top notch good people. We had all sorts of problems getting along our 6 hour journey there and the hosts were able to go above and beyond for all the accommodation we ended up needing. The property is beautiful and secluded(tucked up in to a mountainside). There were endless places for the kids to safely explore right on site including a dry creek bed, open grassy areas, wooded areas, etc. It rained quite a bit one day we were there and sitting out on either porch was very peaceful and enjoyable. The cabin itself has basic accommodations and fit our family of 5 just right. 4 minutes drive from Lost Valley trail which was our main destination on this trip and well worth the day we took to explore it. 10/10 would recommend both the host and the cabin and we will be back to stay again some day!

We loved the privacy of the cabin and the woods to walk in. We could let our dogs run loose and play. The entire house was clean and very nice.

The only complaint I have is the bed was not comfortable at all. Other than that it was fine. Everything was clean.

Wonderful location. Close to many main hiking trails and waterfalls. We have had bad experiences at rentals but this one was great! Very clean which is important to me. The view was amazing! Elk in the evenings across the street and cows in the morning. Tips for future renters: bring binoculars and a good camera if wanting to get elk pictures. My iPhone couldn’t handle zooming in far enough. Bring cards and board games if wanting entertainment besides tv. Great place and would stay again!!

If you’re looking to get near the wilderness of the Ozarks, then this is the perfect stay removed from civilization.

Property was great, we saw elk and floated the Buffalo River with BOC. Found a coffee pot but only a Keurig style coffee maker, 30 minute drive minimum to find food or groceries.

This cabin is just peaceful. It's very well maintained, house decor is circa the 90's and gives the nostalgic feeling of home. The surrounding area is GORGEOUS. The Buffalo River is an amazing float, and the cows across the street offer a peaceful pastoral view from the front porch. There is no cell phone service, but with the quite and wifi it is not missed.

Ew. Half the light bulbs dont work. There is a creepy lower level. Its locked off. No access to the dungeon. Its not mentioned at all in any description. The hand soap dispensers were full of WATER! EW! Save your money and stay in a tent. There wont be a FUNK so embedded in the walls you couldn't burn it out. This is a target audience stay. Must enjoy stank up close, appliances that scare wildlife, minimal ghetto multi-colored lights and the dirtiest water you have probably ever seen in the USA. This is the epitome of poverty.

We had a great time in Arkansas! The house was perfect for our family and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

First I want everyone to know-super clean spot and just like the listing. But I strongly suggest the directions to be spelled out with the code to get in with exit instructions. WiFi in the cabin is great but not on the road. I thought we were going to have to find another place to stay. Thankfully I got WiFi in the driveway and got the code to get into the cabin. Very relaxing! Great view of the valley. Saw a bald eagle land in the field and walk around, lots of squirrels too. New furniture and very comfy beds. Highly recommend

Very clean, comfy beds, all the things you need, great location - close to lots of hiking and floating. Very basic accommodations but we didn’t need anything more than that. Would stay again!

We had a nice stay. Our adult daughters were able to join us for most of our stay. We loved the semi secluded location nestled in a valley at the base of the mountains it was just far enough off the main road to offer privacy but close to town, with the river and several hiking trails just minutes away. The property was beautiful and was fun to explore. The house itself was clean and had a cozy home feel

The cabin was very clean. It was in a great location for short drive to hiking trails. We were there in mid to late October. We saw some pretty Fall leaves in spite of the drought. Most of the trails we hiked would have had beautiful streams and waterfalls in the Spring. The cabin was not fancy but it met all of our needs.

My husband was looking behind doors looking for bedroom as he did he noticed one door led to a basement it was full of what looked like red hornets they were large!I was uneasy and scared they would come up to where we were sleeping, it did not happen and we enjoyed our stay. The place had an order like older homes do, but it was a nice place and we enjoyed our stay. I would hope owner does something about wasp or horents in basement if children were present they are very energetic and would lookand play ever where.

Property was awesome with beautiful views and ease to all the local attractions. Communication was excellent with property managers. The house was very clean and comfortable. The only drawback was there was not a hair dryer or drip coffeemaker as listed. Otherwise it was a wonderful weekend!

The entire property was very clean and the house was filled with everything needed for your stay. It is right across the highway from a great field to be able to see elk and just right up the road from some other great places to visit unfortunately the entire community lost power The night that we stayed so we had to cut our stay short, but we will be back because of the cleanliness and the great location. Definitely recommend!

Our host was great and helped us with a late checkin. We loved how the older character of the house was preserved and updated with new furnishings to tie everything together. The location was close to everything we needed. We can’t wait to visit again!!

We have stayed every fall for 11 years in this area, and this was our absolute favorite spot so far! Loved the location and you couldn’t ask for better people to deal with. We will most definitely be back.

Very good location close to Ponca and outdoor center. Water was low so no kayaking but we did plenty of hiking that was close by and got to see quite a few elk up the street. FYI to other travelers - we did not have any service for ~20 min when away from the cabin. Just to pre download maps or GPS for trails etc

We had the best time as a family! There were 4 adults and 3 children ages 4 and under! The kids enjoyed rolling down the hills in the yard and being able to run around! The view of the Lou rains were amazing and the short distance to the river was a major plus for us! We were able to ride around and see elk within a mile of the cabin! We will definitely be back!!

This house is clean and comfortable!! The location is wonderful!! The owners are so helpful!! We drank coffee on the porch and watched the elk!!! We will be back!!! If you are looking for the perfect peaceful place, this is it!!
