Property was lovely and well furnished. Great location next to C&O Canal towpath. Host was very responsive. The stairs are quite steep at the top.

Well appointed home with great use of the space. Comfortable and modern furnishings, everything you need in a kitchen, and the best screened in porch. The owner was quick to answer questions before booking, and provided easy check in/out. The location was right across the street from the C&O towpath, where we enjoyed our walks. As the property listing and others have noted, parking is at the bottom of several stairs to get to the door.

Beautifully furnished with everything I needed. Canal towpath was amazing and the highlight of my stay. The last 10-12 steps to entrance were, however, extremely challenging for my aging legs. Oh and the screened porch, where I spent most of my time when not walking the towpath, was my favorite thing about the house. I highly recommend this property for anyone who doesn’t have problems with lots of steps.

This is a wonderful place. A great place to relax and to be close to the C and O Canal towpath for a bike ride or the Potomac for a swim or Kayak. It was nice being near Shepherdstown to take advantage of a small college town with good food and eclectic shops

From check in to check out easy breezy. Stay Monday-Friday had late check out so we could enjoy a few more moments of serenity. Place was amazing and host was accommodating. Enjoyed the woodsy atmosphere. Weather perfect for us. Went to Antietam National Park visited Harper’s Ferry. Got take out at Paddy’s on our way back from Harper’s Ferry in West Virginia which was amazing. Can’t wait to come back for a second stay.

My cousin and I planned this trip so that we could do some biking on the C & O Canal Towpath. We loved that the host provided bikes for our use and were able to hit the trail for a bit in spite of a rainy weekend. The location of the property was ideal for this. We also found several wineries in close proximity and added those to our itinerary since we were not able to bike as much as we would have liked to. The house was very cute and clean and had everything that we needed during our stay. Our favorite part of the house was definitely the front porch where we played card games and listened to the rain. The host was very responsive anytime that we had questions. Five stars!

Great spot to decompress and relax. Home is well appointed and wonderfully remodeled. Great to be near amazing history, charming towns, and great access to the towpath and other outdoor activities. Perfect spot to relax on a porch and listen to the birds and trees. The host is super responsive and very kind. Would love to stay again if my travels bring me back this way.

Old time charm on the outside; clean, new and modern on the inside. The rental is small, but nicely done with modern features. The stone fireplace is so pretty with an electric stove inside. The bedroom was lovely with a comfy, king bed. The best part is the screened in porch that runs the whole length of the house. There’s a sectional sofa and coffee table, two rockers, and a table with four chairs on the porch. You can appreciate the old windows with their wooden shutters from back in time. We watched the birdies in the trees from the porch and glimpses of the river through the trees. Be aware the steps are steep leading to the home. They are well lit at night, as we had our dog with us that had to go out to do her business. Parking is tight, but we managed to get our full sized truck safely off the road. Overall, it was an interesting place to stay. The towpath along the river is directly across the street for walking, running or biking. We enjoyed Harper’s Ferry, Shepherdstown, battlefields and breweries. It was a fun time!

This lovely and well-appointed/furnished and immaculately clean property sits high above the close-by C&O trail and Potomac River, minutes away from the lovely town of Shepherdstown - perfect for a quiet, relaxing get away.

This small cottage is so comfortable and well appointed. Directly across from the C&O Canal Towpath; it only takes a few minutes to get on the path. Although there is a lot that you can do in the area, we were in need of respite, so other than taking multiple walks a day, we enjoyed time on the expansive screened-in porch, looking out at the beautiful scenery and listening and watching the birds. We also enjoyed making meals in the kitchen and using the outside grill for bacon to burgers. We slept very well on the very comfortable king size bed. Serena is a great host as she readily replied whenever contacted. We are definitely planning to return. It would be so much fun to tube down the river.
