Stayed May 31, 2024Overall we enjoyed our stay at the house. Age location is perfect, and the private dock is great. The house is beautiful, and had plenty of room for our 6 adults that stayed there. The house just needs a little TLC and updating. The door locks stick, and are extremely hard to unlock and lock. The front door really needs a keyless keypad because you have to travel 25 minutes one way to pick up a key from the really office in order to enter the house. The lawn/patio furniture is dilapidated and falling apart. The water pressure in the showers goes up and down, and the water smells like boiled eggs. The bathtub in the one primary guest room doesn’t have a drain plug, so you cannot use it.

Stayed Oct 17, 2021We had 8 adults and one infant, and had plenty of room for everyone. We enjoy cooking as a group, and the kitchen layout worked well for that. We stayed in the fall so didn't make much use of the waterfront, but I'm sure it's really nice in the summer.

Stayed Jun 26, 2021This property is lakefront with a dock and the location is excellent on a quiet road. All BRs are masters, which was perfect for our group of family members who are all over 18. We loved being on the lake and enjoyed kayaking, stargazing, soaking in the hot tub, and just lazing on the waterfront. We also had fun biking, hiking, riding the Wisp Mountain Coaster, and white-water rafting. Challenges included extremely poor lighting in the house, which, coupled with dark paneling, made it very dark and difficult to see at night (especially when working on the jigsaw puzzle in spite of placing 5 lamps nearby). It could be that higher wattage bulbs would help? Another challenge was the water: it smelled and tasted strongly of sulphur no matter how long we ran it; the temperature was either low or fluctuated so a hot shower wasn’t possible; and it continually sputtered coming out of the faucets as though it had been turned off for a long time. We’ve rented properties at various locations for nearly 20 years and have never encountered water like this! This could be something true of all properties in Deep Creek, but it was surprising and unpleasant. Folks at Railey were pleasant, addressed other small questions we had, and responded quickly when we called to say the oven wasn’t working. (But hey, keyless check-in should be available especially when the office isn’t nearby.) All in all we had a terrific week, but we would not return to this property. .
