ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
The house is in east Old Town- best neighborhood in Chicago for both families or if you are looking to have fun. While the street itself is very quiet, tree lined and barely has cars passing by, as soon as you turn the corner, you are in the center of everything! Wells street restaurants and bars are steps away. Lincoln Park with the zoo, farm, pond, open spaces and farmers market is a 7-10 min. walk. North avenue beach is the same distance. It is perfect for walks, picnics, boat rides or good old fun in the sand. The beaches are free to the public and have breathtaking city views. Grocery shopping is made easy, seeing as Plum Market and Jewel are located right in the neighborhood. Nearby coffee shops include a 24 hour Starbucks and La Fournette. There are 103 restaurants within a 15 minute walk including some of Chicago's top restaurants including Kamehachi, Topo Gigio, The Fireplace Inn, and Woodies Flat. Bars and lounges are abundant on Wells and are all 1-2 minute walk. Shopping in Old Town is a unique experience; the majority of shops in this neighborhood are boutiques rather than well-known chain stores. Therefore, each and every store is cozy, intimate and filled with one-of-a-kind goods. The Lincoln Park Zoo is a world of wildlife in the shadow of skyscrapers. The Second City only two blocks away and it is a famous theater that specializes in sketch comedy and improv, and has been delighting audiences for over 50 years. Oak street and beginning of Michigan avenue is about 15-20 minute walk.

GETTING AROUND:
The house is a five minute walk from the Brown Line and the Purple Line at the Sedgwick stop and an eight minute walk from Red line at Clark. It takes be about 15 min to walk to Michigan Ave and Wells street bars are a minute away. Buses and cabs are also easily accessible. It is about a 3 minute drive to get onto Lake Shore drive at LaSalle and about 8 minutes to Kennedy expressway at North Avenue.

WILDLIFE:
You will encounter wildlife while staying at the property. Here is what you can expect most commonly:
Spiders and ants are common in Chicago. They get as high as 95th floor of John Hancock building. While we do our best to combat them, it is nearly impossible during high season.
Bees, wasps, yellow jackets are abundant throughout the city. While we take care of any nests on the property, I cannot control them in the air and beyond my boundaries.

The house is best for bachelor, bachelorette and friend groups as well as business travelers. It is not child proof.

Home was well equipped and very well laid out. We were a large group and had plenty of space. 2 separate lounge areas, a second kitchen area and 2 primary suites that were very private and quiet. Hostess was very attentive.

Our stay at this super location was excellent.Inna, our host kept us informed and responded quickly with our questions. This by far was the cleanest place we vacationed in! Plenty of space with an additional kitchenette on 3rd floor. The garage space for car parking was very helpful, location was perfect for walking to shops, restaurants, coffee and bakery cafes. Uber was easily useful to airport! Loved this VRBO! Thank you, Inna

This property worked great for our large family that gathered for a family wedding in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago. We had 8 adults aged 36-71 and 6 kids aged 1-8. Check-in was easy. It was very clean-a top priority for me!! It's hlepful to know there are stairs to access all bedrooms but there is a bathroom on the first floor which was nice! Loved having one car space in garage back behind the home and off-street. Sometimes there was an extra open parking spot next to the garage too. The kitchen was well equipped, all appliances worked well. There is no pantry, but there is plenty of counter space for non-perishables. The living space is not large but is comfy and opens onto a small patio where we enjoyed spreading out when weather was good. Beds were comfortable. The two top floor bedrooms were great for our families with little ones in pack n plays and one crib already there for our use. They were large rooms with walk-in closets where the babies could sleep. The location was great for nearby restaurants, park/playground and nice full grocery (Jewel-Osco). Our host, Inna, was lovely and so helpful, really great at answering questions before we arrived and even gave us a tour of the home upon arrival! We would definitely recommend this home. Thank you, Inna!

Great choice for a weekend with friends in Chicago. We were relatively close to Wrigley, Second City, and the bars up and down Wells in Old Town. Plus we could easily take the L to downtown for museums and a boat tour on the river. The house had great bedrooms, beds were comfy and bathrooms were modern and well-appointed.Would stay here again if I ever had a big enough group.Host was very communicative and helped us throughout our stay with making things easier. Felt very welcome.

Inna was the best host. Amazing communication and super helpful when I had a question. When I arrived the check-in instructions were incredible easy to follow. Parking was easy. Inna offered to meet me if I had any questions. But everything needed was there. There was even a note with some cookies! So thoughtful. The home was clean and well appointed. Close to great restaurants, shopping and the lake! And check-out process was also very simple. Thank you for a wonderful get away! We would totally stay again!!

Ten of us stayed in this townhouse over wedding weekend. Location was great to go all the places we wanted (up to Lincoln Park and Wrigley, over to West Loop and down to Mag Mile/Loop and Millenium Park). Having several queen beds was very helpful to give everyone a place to sleep having several bathrooms with showers worked out very well. Having first floor space to gather and make simple meals was perfect. The host was very responsive and helpful. I often wish the beds in rental homes were more comfortable - and that was true here too. My 55 year old body needs a comfortable mattress for a good nights sleep. Overall - a great stay.

This was so great for our family of five, with three teens. It’s so convenient to public transportation and easy access to all of the Chicago attractions. This is a wonderful property with everything we could have possibly needed. Our kids loved the third level which is so big it’s like another apartment. We’d love to stay here again on our next visit to Chicago.

The location near Old Town was perfect walking distance from Second City and many bars and restaurants. We chose this unit not only for the location but also because the arrangement of the rooms with double queen beds was very convenient for my guests with kids. The kitchen was well stocked and though the living room was a little smaller, there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The beds were comfortable. The one thing to note is that the extra family room space on the third floor that supposedly has 2 beds is actually a small futon and foam mattress. Not very comfortable for my adult friends, but that was the only space left. It is better saved for older kids. Parking was very easy with the single space in the garage and also street parking directly in front of the house. Inna was a helpful host and was available any time I had questions.

This Old Town property was an excellent base for walking exploration of Lincoln Park (Saturday Farmer's Market was fantastic!) and Old Town itself (lively, with very good food, residential neighborhoods, shops, and entertainment), and had easy access to CTA trains to the Loop, Riverwalk, Millennium Park, and much more, had we had time. 7 adults (seniors) spent four nights, and found the four bedrooms, four bathrooms, large fully-equipped kitchen, and living/dining room/patio provided plenty of space, though one bedroom is a bit cramped and the dining table was better suited to 6 than to 10 people. We did not even take advantage of the third floor laundry/kitchenette/sitting area. We did feel that linens and bedding and perhaps even some of the bedroom furniture could have been updated, and cleaning more thorough, to earn the Elegant title and the price. We also wish we'd asked, as the manager recommended, for more detailed info about A/C - it worked well, but we didn't realize it would revert to a programmed setting periodically. But overall, our stay was great: Location trumped all else; space, security, and communication were fine; and it was a great (re-)introduction to Chicago!
