House Rules:
During your stay, we ask that you remember to be respectful of your neighbors. Quiet hours are from 10pm- 7am. For real, take the party to the many downtown bars, where live music is always playing.
Additionally, thank you for respecting our "no smoking" and "no pets" policy so that we can keep our properties in the best condition possible. Pets include but are not limited to cats, zebras, livestock, and/or spouses. Should you choose to ignore this, there will be a $300 fine assessed for breaking either of these rules. We thank you for refraining and being respectful of our homes - please don't make us hunt you down for fines as it cuts into our naptime.
Also, do not forget to enjoy all the nearby amenities and activities including swimming, fire pits, kayaking, kite flying, trail hiking/walking, bike riding trails, craft beer and wine tasting, zip lining, sky diving, glass blowing, and much more, not to mention the fun you will have just strolling around the Harbor and enjoying the sand bar, beach and restaurant.
Great little house right next to the pool and fun restaurant/bar attached. We wish we stayed longer to be able to do more boating excursions at the marina across the street. We’ll maintained and the staff were so quick to respond.
Great place to stay and watch the activity on the river. Close to pool, playground, and restaurant. 3rd floor stairway access is for small people only. That was our only issue. Other than that place worked out well for 8 people.
This property is in a beautiful location. We Arrived just as the snow and extreme temps started. Furnace kept us warm even with -9 temps. It was perfect for my family. Will stay again in future. Property manager was exellent. Checked on us to see if we were warm. Highly recommended.
The house was fine but definitely needed updating. The house itself was clean but a lot of the kitchenware needed washing before using. The shower liners needed serious washing or replacing. The closets needed some purging and the living room couch should be replaced. It's a sofa bed and is REALLY uncomfortable. But it was ok.
Great location.
We'll be back! Renting the boat was easy and efficient. The staff was very friendly but made sure we understood boat safety.
We enjoyed staying right on the river in Ottawa. The house we rented was on the river side rather than the marina side, which I preferred. The house was very nicely decorated and convenient to hiking at Starved Rock State Park. My husband enjoyed the swimming pool. The only thing that needs improving is the mattresses in the master and guest bedroom were terribly loud - sitting down on them, rolling over, any movement at all sounded like I was sleeping on a chip bag. I believe the beds had plastic covers on the mattresses. While this might add sanitary benefits, it was uncomfortably noisy. And the headboard needs to be tightened so the bed doesn't creak. The 4 beds in the top floor room didn't have this issue. Overall we enjoyed this house and location very much.
The entry door lock was difficult to open and lock with the key.
Everyone I spoke to was helpful, friendly and professional
Great experience. What a beautiful resort community! We felt as if we had traveled to another state. Hard to believe such a lovely retreat is just an hour from our home. Everyone was soooo friendly. They all seemed genuinely happy to be working there. Welcoming, knowledgeable, informative. And because we had a late arrival, it was so nice to be offered a lock box with our key on the door of our cottage.
We loved our stay at Eddie’s Hideaway! The cottage had everything we needed to feel at home. It was the perfect place for old friends to reconnect! We ate twice at The Red Dog. Great food! Great service! We spent a relaxing evening by the fire pit along the river. We even enjoyed watching the barges, which brought back memories because we used to live along the river. The close proximity to Starved Rock (hiked three miles) and Utica (had an awesome breakfast at Nonie’s) makes the location of Heritage Harbor a great place to stay! Hopefully we can make a return visit in the future. Everyone was friendly and helpful! David answered all my questions and did a perfect job describing how the key and lock on the cottage worked.
