Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This wonderful home is in the community of Pittsburgh’s best kept secret, historic Fineview. Enjoy magical sunsets and fireworks displays right from the front yard. This home has views of PNC Park and the North Shore It is just minutes to Downtown, AGH, North Shore dining and activities. Easy access to I-279 and the parkway. Get your exercise on the nearby fitness trail, recreation area or explore beautiful Riverview Park.

From the house you will be able to walk out the front door and down the street onto the scenic overlook of the city. The home is in Fineview, a quiet residential neighborhood.

It is close to the local Carnegie library, several pizza/sub shops, and other unique eateries. The house is within driving distance of full-service grocery stores, drug stores, coffee shops, dry cleaners, gas stations, restaurants, bars, and other night life, however, all of these types of establishments are within one or two miles. Unique to the area is the local Bread Works for delicious artistry breads.

The house is close to the Pittsburgh Children's Museum, the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Science Center, the National Aviary, PNC Park, Acrisure Stadium (Heinz Field), and other Northshore amenities.

There is a wonderful outdoor recreation space at the top of the street. The access is free for everyone to use.

Explore the fitness trail just down the street or the woods at nearby Riverview Park. Created in 1894, the park predates the City of Allegheny’s annexation to the City of Pittsburgh in 1907. Formed largely from farmland, today’s Riverview Park is known for its dense woodlands and steep topography. The park’s extensive network of trails invites hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback rider into the woods. The park is also home to the landmark Allegheny Observatory, a visitor’s center, a swimming pool and activities building, the natural beauty of the Mairdale watershed, and the popular two-mile Riverview Loop. Residents enjoy the park's pool, playground, ball field, shelters and summertime concerts and movies.

There are an extensive choice of trails to choose from if you like to hike or mountain bike. The terrain is hilly with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The park is rich in wildlife so don't be surprised to see deer, possum, raccoons, turkeys, ground hogs and the occasional fox at night. The wildlife is very docile and are used to being around people. Please remember that although they are gentle, their personal space needs to be respected.

Host was not advised our booking was complete- something with the notification process- so had to clean before we could enter. Very welcoming and also to our pets, the place was nice and spacious with nice furnishings. I wish i would have paid attention to this being two story as the 13 stairs are quite steep and as older folks, were easily managed. Luckily, there is a rail to grip going up and down, which helped. With a fear of falling down stairs, it did limit me. Parking spot is convenient next to house but careful to open doors so not to hit the low rock wall. All in all, a very nice place and the host she was very sweet. We love that she does animal rescue too!

We didn’t feel comfortable in the neighborhood. The doors were not secure and you could see daylight through the cracks.

We were in town for our daughter's birthday and the Fair in the Park, in Mellon Park. This location was convenient for all of our plans, plus close to the Strip District, which is one of our favorites places to visit and shop. This home was warm and inviting and just what we were looking for during our stay! Thank you for allowing us to stay.Kathy

We were in town for Picklesburgh with our dog and the home was everything we needed. It was safe, fenced in, and comfortable. Any makeup girlies, utilize the cabinet in the bathroom it will save you time getting ready. The stairs are steep but going up them a few times will get you used to them. Grateful there were enough towels and washcloths for our stay, we’ve not had that luck at many places we’ve stayed at. Highly recommend this place! Host was an excellent communicator and made sure we had everything we needed.

Last minute booking as my Mother-in-law was not discharged from the hospital when expected. It was really amazing to find this place as it was close to the hospital and had a fenced in backyard for our dog. As we'd been stuck in Pittsburgh for medical reasons, he had to be on a leash most of our 'visit'. So, he loved being able to run around in the backyard leash free. The host was very communicative, and she truly cares about you enjoying your stay and enjoying the city. There are printed instructions inside the house for the house rules, trip/activity suggestions, and for any and all house quirks (strange light switch locates, etc.). She contacted us the night before and the morning of check-in with thoughtful insights including directions incase we weren't familiar/comfortable with driving in hilly areas and provided a weather outlook for the day as temperatures in the area can have a wide range. Generally speaking, we arent too far from Pittsburgh, so we were familiar with both of these things (30 degree temperature swing in one day is not uncommon in the region), but it was an incredibly nice and thoughtful gesture, especially if you have never experienced that kind of environment.

A comfortable place to stay and a bit “off the beaten path” in an older neighborhood in the hills of Pittsburgh. We love the eclecticism of it all. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for letting us stay.

I came a day early and Lisa actually picked me up and got me to a friend that had a bed I could have for the night. So sweet and helpful. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We loved this older home surrounded by beautiful antique furniture and artwork. We loved the view of Pittsburgh from the lookout down the street and how close everything is to the property. This is NOT a handicapped accessible property, however. This doesn’t deter us from booking here in the future, but the only bathroom and bedroom is on the second floor up pretty steep stairs. The front door also requires to walk up stairs. Again, we didn’t mind, but we also weren’t expecting it due to the listing description. We highly recommend this property to any able-bodied person/couple! Also, be prepared for no TV in the main bedroom upstairs.
