Echo Base – Alpine Family Retreat, Dinner Plain

Spacious alpine retreat in a quiet Dinner Plain cul-de-sac. Perfect for families and groups, close to village cafés, trails, and Mt Hotham shuttle. Cozy woodfire, comfy beds, and everything you need for a relaxing mountain escape all year round.

This spacious three-bedroom alpine lodge offers comfort, warmth, and room for everyone to relax. Spread across three levels, it sleeps up to ten guests and combines cozy mountain charm with all the modern amenities you need for an easy,enjoyable stay in Dinner Plain.

**Ground floor:**
A gentle set of steps leads to a welcoming entry lobby with seating for boots and gear, plus a drying room and full bathroom/laundry with shower, toilet, washing machine and dryer. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is ideal for gathering with family or friends. Enjoy the slow-combustion wood heater set against a local stone hearth, or curl up in the window seats and take in the alpine views. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and stove, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, pantry, and all the crockery and glassware you’ll need. Step out onto the deck to enjoy the mountain air and peaceful surrounds.

**First floor:**
The master bedroom includes a king bed (convertible to two singles), bedside tables, and hanging space. The family bedroom features a queen bed and two additional singles through an archway — perfect for kids or extra guests. The family bathroom has a luxurious corner spa bath with overhead shower, and a separate toilet for convenience.

**Loft:**
Up the stairs (no ladder climbing required) you’ll find a flexible sleeping space with a king bed (or two singles) plus two more singles. This cozy upper level also has its own TV, making it an ideal retreat for kids or teens to unwind.

Echo Base blends rustic alpine character with practical design — offering comfort, space, and a true “home away from home” feeling in every season.

What we provide:
- The beds will be made up upon your arrival. Please let us know what arrangement you would like: To make sure we have everything all ready for you, could you please confirm which beds would you like made up:
Master - king OR two singles
Family room - queen and two singles
Loft - king and two singles OR four singles
- There will be a bath towel for each guest, and a bath mat and hand towel for each bathroom
- The kitchen is stocked with all the crockery, glassware and utensils you’re likely to need
- We provide limited dishwasher tablets, dishwashing liquid, scourers, sponges and toilet paper
- There will be some dry wood, kindling, matches and fire lighters by the fire, and further wood can be found in the woodshed on the deck

What you’ll want to bring:
- We have a pod coffee machine but you’ll need to bring your own pods (any suitable for a Nespresso machine) or ground coffee for the plunger
- If you’re a movie buff, we have video cables ready to access next to the TVs so plugging in a laptop or media player is nice and easy
