Stayed Dec 26, 2025We booked this property for a family vacation & cancelled immediately upon arrival due to serious safety and suitability concerns that were not apparent from the listing. The stairs are extremely steep and narrow, like a ladder - you must descend backwards. While the listing mentions “narrow stairs” in one buried sentence, this dramatically understates the reality. For groups with small children, adults with limitations, or even average adults carrying luggage, this is a genuine safety risk. The parking situation is also very dangerous and not adequately represented. Parking is across the street on a curved, heavily trafficked road with vehicles traveling around 40 mph. Due to the bend, oncoming traffic is difficult to see, and there is no safe way to unload luggage or cross the street without significant risk. The owner claims it is not a busy road – it is. The interior is much smaller than the photos suggest. The pictures make the home appear far more open and spacious than it is. We had 7 people. There was not enough seating for a meal, let alone gathering comfortably. While the listing technically allows this number of occupants, the space is not realistically suited for more than two or three people.Because these issues were only discoverable in person, we left immediately without using or disturbing anything. We asked for a refund and were promptly denied.I also question the validity of the large number of stellar reviews. It became clear that the owner has been thro

Stayed Dec 23, 2025Our group of 10 had an amazing stay at Eagles Nest! The cabin was very clean and well stocked upon arrival. The 3 story living arrangements made spreading out for quiet time easy, while the first level provided enough room for us all to gather for meals, gifts, and games this Christmas! Sondra and her Property Manager were awesome to work with and check in/ out was a breeze. The cabin came equiped with fans, a booster seat, pack n play, and plenty of pillows and warm blankets which meant we didn't have to carry those items in from the car. Would 100% recommend a stay and would love to return myself in the summer to enjoy the multiple decks and explore more outdoors; the views from the decks during December were beautiful.

Stayed Aug 6, 2025Great place for families. We had a mix of young kids/toddlers and adults. The kids loved sleeping and playing in the loft upstairs that has 4 beds. The two bedrooms on the 2nd floor are large enough for pack and plays and/or cots so that young kids can sleep in the same room as parents (even though they end up in mom and dad's beds by morning, of course). The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans, basic seasonings, and a dishwasher! The jacuzzi tub is huge. My 6ft 5in husband could strech his legs out no problem, with plenty of room for me, too. Also big enough to throw all the kids in for a bath after a day at the water park. There are three designated parking spots across the street with additional unspecified spots as well. No yard to play in, but it's a quick 5 minute walk to Ralph Hines Park that has a playground, pavilion, grills and a picnic area. A few notes on features that didn't impact our stay, but might be helpful to know for future guests with mobility limitations: both flights of stairs (to 2nd floor and to the loft) are quite steep, but they have hand rails on both sides. We had the young kids scoot down the stairs on their butts for safety. There are two bathrooms but they are both on the first floor, and there is only one small bedroom on the first floor. The parking spots are close, but you do have to cross the street. There are two steps (if I remember correctly) to get from the sidewalk to the house. Ashtrays are provided on the decks.

Stayed Jan 31, 2025overall the Eagle Nest Retreat was a great place to stay. Very clean and property manager communicated very well. I would offer though a word of caution related to climbing very steep stairs to bedrooms. Only one bedroom on the first floor. Also, when unloading your vehicle you are required to park across from the house and walk across a highway and unload and reload your vehicle.

Stayed Dec 26, 2024the cabin is very nice, with cabin like feeling, great location, close to everything. one of the cons is that the only bedroom downstairs is colder and we had to increase the heat of the whole cabin for that room to remain warm. also both restrooms are in the first floor so if you have an elderly person, they need to stay in that room downstairs. other than that, the stay was fantastic and i loved the backyard view and the little hike to the dam. i recommend this stay

Stayed Jan 2, 2025Cute place and we loved that it was so close to many restaurants and tourists spots (5 mins or less). We went up to Chula Vista for a day pass and it was only 15 minutes away. Note the stairs are very steep so older folks may have trouble on them. Both bathrooms are on the 1 st floor and most bedrooms are on floors 2 and 3. The kids loved staying in the loft up top. It was very cold this time of year so sadly we didn’t get to enjoy the balconies. The view was gorgeous. Excellent communication from the host.

Stayed Sep 14, 2024This home was perfect for our needs during a short family trip to explore the Dells and Lake Delton. The decks were very spacious and put to good use while drinking coffee in the mornings or unwinding at the end of each night. My parents stayed in the bedroom on the main floor, while the rest of us 30 year something’s stayed upstairs. One thing worth mentioning, the stairs are quite steep and may be a challenge for those elderly folks with bad knees. We enjoyed our stay very much and would absolutely consider rebooking if we visit the area again with a large group!

Stayed Aug 13, 2024Eagle’s Nest was a great vacation spot for our family of eleven. There were comfortable spaces for everyone. The deck had two large picnic tables and a nice, clean grill which we used for a cookout. We put the little ones in the jacuzzi tub for a bath, which they enjoyed. It seemed like everywhere we wanted to go was within a fifteen minute drive, or less. I recommend this charming home.

Stayed Jul 20, 2024The loft bedroom was perfect for the 4 kid's with us - they loved it. Next level was 2 bedrooms & play area or could use as extra sleeping. The living room had a long table but we used the great picnic tables on the deck for eating. 2 bathrooms & bedroom (spa room we used for all of our storage)

Stayed Jul 14, 2024This is a charming home, perfectly located in the Dells. It worked perfectly for our family of 10 - 6 adults, 4 kids (5-9). The kids enjoyed the fenced-in front yard, and it was very easy to get to all the activities we enjoyed. Our host was great and quick to reply to any questions. There was a lovely book of attractions to visit, and brochures available. Two considerations - the stairs are rather steep, and both bathrooms are on the first floor. While we were fine with this, it could be difficult for some groups.
