Dune it Right on the Siuslaw River

The host, Leslie, was warm and attentive. The house has spectacular views and is nicely appointed and very clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable too.

We loved this house. Very clean, comfortable, quiet. Right on the water, short drive to everything. River beach was fun, and there were so many hikes and beaches nearby. The house had everything we needed. The backyard is not fully fenced, so dogs need to be on voice command.

Great property, in excellent condition, wonderful location. Notes:- The kitchen and whole house is very well equipped.- While dogs are allowed, the yard is not fenced, and the deck does not have gates, so dogs must be leashed while outside. - Bed mattresses are memory foam, which some people like, but I don't (because of sagging hammock-like contour).- The beds only have 1 thin blanket and cover, and there are only 2 extra thin blankets (for 3 beds). This is a problem because the home has a Nest web/app enabled HVAC thermostat which has been programmed to go down to 62 in the middle of the night, and this is too cold for beds with only 1 or 2 thin blankets. This required multiple trips to manually override the thermostat after waking up cold in the middle of the night. Also, HVAC is high efficiency, which means that it takes about an hour to warm up from 62 to something more reasonable like 67.- Nice fireplace and wood available, but no kindling or paper to light a fire. - I booked through VRBO, and I received a confirmation from VRBO, but I did not receive access instructions from VRBO, the access instructions came from someone else, so that email got spam filtered, so we had to drive back to where we had cell service and spend some stressful time on the phone with a non English speaking VRBO phone support person before getting connected to the property manager for access instructions.

Clean, beautiful and big enough for each of us to do activities that didn’t interfere with other activities . Each time we thought I wonder it they have this? Yes they did!! The location is easy to find and convenient to everything! The instructions are clear and easy to follow.

We all loved this home, super clean, nice living room, backyard and deck. We are all seniors citizens liked this single story home. The host was really nice and easy to communicate with. We will be back again!

My family of 4 (plus dogs) stayed here Thanksgiving week and it was the perfect “home away from home” to relax and explore the OR coast. The house is well-stocked and so organized and well-labeled. Had no trouble at all finding anything we needed. We loved the view of the Siuslaw and in the evening we enjoyed the coziness of the fireplace. So thankful we found Dune it Right and we hope to return another time.

Used to have BBQ and fire pit....no longer available. Which was a surprise and a disappointment. One bed had plastic underneath mattress cover...noisy and uncomfortable. Otherwise nice place to stay.

This home was very clean, well organized and had everything we needed. We loved the large pantry, privacy of primary bedroom, quality kitchen dishes, pans and appliances. The view of the river and easy low tide walks made our time here better than many ocean side homes. Lastly, the huge decks allowed plenty of space for people and pups to lounge and have meals outdoors. Thank you!!!

If you want serenity, river views, and the feel of a true family home, this is the place for you. I can't say enough about how wonderful this home was, and how it felt like home to us. We didn't want to leave. Our test of staying in this home was whether we'd be happy there no matter what the weather, because of the time of year we went, and the answer is yes. Do you like to read? There are TONS of paper backs for your enjoyment. Play games with the family? You'll never be bored. Like to cook? The cookware was stellar -- very rare in a rental. We always take our own but didn't take it out of the box. We'll be back.
