Duck Road Central Location Dog Friendly Parking &Tennis Pass⛱Walk to the Beach

Our trip was a last minute decision to stay for a weekend, and this place did not disappoint! The host, Annette, was delightful and the communication was excellent. She offered a list of things to do in the area for my kids in case the weekend was stormy, but luckily we were able to spend the whole time on the beach. We were given a parking pass for a place 2 mins down the road where we were able to park comfortably and the beach was not crowded. It has showers, bathrooms, and tennis/pickleball courts. The house is very clean, beds comfortable, shower pressure and air conditioning was perfect. There is covered parking and a game room downstairs with a tv, ping pong table and foosball that my kids really enjoyed. There is also a screened in porch right off the living room where we played card games and hung out in the evening. This was a very enjoyable stay and we look forward to staying at Annettes place the next time we're in the Outer Banks!

Our family was relaxed and happy in Henry’s Castle. Check-in was simple. We cooked breakfast and lunch daily: the hearth-style kitchen-living room made it easy to cook and eat together. The cottage has just the right amenities and spaces to promote quality time. Less than 5 minutes walk to a lovely beach.

Everything was exactly as shown. The kitchen was well stocked, plenty of hot water for showers, clean and comfortable! We totally enjoyed the wrap around deck and the roof top deck! Annette was wonderful. She kept us informed and checked in on us to be sure we were all set. We Loved our home for the week!

Water was cold and Jelly fish owned the waters so we spent time on the beach minimal swimming and enjoyed the location of the house. Shopping and dining out.

Everything was great. It was just my family of four with our fur family and the house and area was perfect for what we were looking for. We loved the private feel of the entire house but yet close to the beach. My husband and kids loved the game room, dogs loved the outside, I enjoyed the decks! Communication was also great between homeowners and us. This was our first time staying up the northern area of OBX, and we would absolutely stay at this house again.

Excellent Host, House is very nice with many extras.

While house is pet friendly, the Southern Shores beaches are not. Between May 15 and Sept 15, no pets on beach 9 AM to 6 PM with max. 10' leash other times. Duck has no date, time, or leash restrictions. 2. Bath tub shower enclosure floors are very slippery. 3. Deck pickets are 4 spread which can be problematic for small children and pets. [One missing picket created a 9 spread]. On the deck steps, there were even some wider gaps at the edges. I believe that most new construction requires a max. picket spacing of 2.4. The two queen beds are very soft . . . not sure if they're just very soft pillow tops or old.5. The pillows are very large/hard. 6. The property management team was very responsive.7. The kitchen is well equipped.8. The layout is good.9. The games/activities are good.

Loved all the gated decks and screened porch. Perfect for hanging out with my friends and dogs. Lovely grounds with lots of trees and shade. Very clean and had everything we needed for kitchen. Spacious with attractive decor. Loved game room and had lots of ping pong matches. In a busy street but pros far outweigh cons. A lovely neighborhood close to Duck and kitty Hawk.would rent agin.

We had a great stay at this house. The house was very nice and clean, and our host was extremely responsive. The house is conveniently located right near local shopping in Duck, just 20 minutes from the bustle of kitty hawk, but in a quiet area with easy access and walking distance to the beach.

Exactly as advertised. Loved our stay. Owners so easy to work with.

Good Property, Communication, and Location. 8 min walk to the beach, but you do have to cross a busy street. Quieter less touristy part of the OBX. Property had everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms!

Henry's Castle was perfect for our family's first vacation to the Outer Banks. Comfortable, clean, and convenient, it was just right for us. Thanks for the hospitality!

We had a great 4 nights at the house. It was well appointed, roomy, and clean. We appreciated the wagon for carrying items to the beach given we had 2 little ones and all the stuff required for a family day at the beach. We had an issue with the WiFi on night one which was easily fixed using the help desk service provided by the owner. One note is that the location is right on Duck Road (side without a sidewalk). You need to cross the road where there isn’t a crosswalk or walk through the grass to get to the neighborhood near the house. While not an issue for a solo adult, getting to the cross walk wasn’t easy and didn’t feel safe with small kids and all the beach gear. If your kids are a bit older, it might not be an issue.

We had a wonderful time at Henry’s Castle! The house was extremely well stocked with every kitchen appliance you could possibly need and so many beach chairs and umbrellas! We enjoyed the multiple gated porches and spent the majority of our time either sitting on one of the porches while our dog sunbathed or hanging out at the beach which was a quick 7-10 minute walk away. Our teens enjoyed the game room downstairs and watching movies on the flat screens in their room and the living room. The only thing to remember is your body wash and shampoo! Henry’s castle provides literally everything else and more! We will definitely be staying again!
