Drumsmittal School, Black Isle, Inverness

Donnie and Ellie were great hosts. They were very communicative and available when we needed assistance. We only had a minor issue finding the house and ended up at the neighbor's house instead. The instructions were not very clear. I believe putting exact coordinates on the GPS would be more helpful.

It was like staying at home, relaxed and easy access. The hosts were very welcoming. So close to the City of Inverness for convenience, but having the luxury of not hearing the noise:-)

This place was amazing. We were sad to only spend 1 night. Lots of room, comfy beds, great bathrooms, amazing living room and kitchen, endless hot water, and an amazing host. Super fun history too :). I would absolutely stay again.

Just minutes from Inverness this property was an excellent location to explore the area and we loved that it was a converted school in quiet setting. We stayed in the two bedroom suite and found it to be spacious, comfortable and the amenities thoughtfully designed. I would highly recommend staying at this property!

This property was conveniently located close to Inverness yet at a distance that offered peace and quiet. The house was immaculately kept with plenty of nice upgrades (e.g., new bathrooms, upgraded kitchen, hot water heater, garden). This was perfect for our family of four! Our hosts, Donnie and Ellie, were great, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We would definitely come back here again.

Tranquil ground-floor converted part of school with views of green fields but with easy road access to highway. The interior is very nicely adapted with high-end finishes.

Wonderful property in a beautiful quiet setting very close to the city. The hosts graciously welcomed us and supplied coffee, milk and breakfast items for the morning. The property is spacious, bright clean and very well equipped. Highly recommended.

From the start, great communication from host! Easy to find and get into with provided instructions. We loved the location-outside of town but not too far. Donnie kindly greeted us shortly after we arrived and showed us around the property. This place had everything we wanted and more: spacious, quiet, clean, beautiful scenery, full kitchen with breakfast foods provided, large family room, washing machine, 2 nice bathrooms, and parking right outside the door. Highly recommend!

Very nice property and owners very helpful. Left us some bread/milk/ juice etc which was very nice and unexpected. Excellent facilities and clean, modern utilities, mostly new. Enjoyed the wonderful peace and quiet after some noisy hotels. My only minor criticism was that the bed mattress was a little too soft for my liking

The host was very welcoming and showed us around the apartment. It was exceptionally large given a renovated school. For a family of three adults we had two large bedrooms with bathrooms. The kitchen and laundry facilities were great and included a heated dry rack. We unfortunately only stayed for one night but in future it would offer a great base for a week holiday. I would highly recommend it.

This is a wonderful property. Clean, well appointed and roomy. Located next to a peaceful sheep farm and yet very convenient to downtown Inverness as well. Our hosts could not have been more inviting or kind. Great stay!

Donnie & Ellie have a lovely property and are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed the quiet setting while only minutes to access to groceries, eating establishments, and highway access to area sites. The property amenities are accurately described and just what we wanted.

Only 5 minutes or less from Inverness. We really enjoyed our stay! The morning rolls and milk was a nice treat as well as supplying us with sugar, coffee and tea! We also loved the candy treats! Thank you so much!

Wow! What a brilliant stay at the Drumsmittal School! Donnie and Ellie were the best hosts, the property and home are gorgeous, and we could not have enjoyed our stay more. Drumsmittal School was an ideal location for us to explore the highlands, a short drive to Inverness to pick up fish and chips for dinner, and outside of the city for a peaceful nights rest. The home is immaculate, everything is freshly laundered and cleaned, with food staples provided so we didn't have to run to the grocery upon arrival. We walked down to the North Kessock Hotel for a wonderful dinner one night - it was full so we were glad we made a reservation as the host guide suggested. As other guests have said, the only problem with the stay is that it wasn't longer! Thank you for the amazing stay!

This was a welcome sight at the end of each day we journeyed around the countryside. The location is convenient for exploring Inverness as well as a wealth of interesting attractions in the region. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The hosts were excellent at communicating with us and responded immediately to quickly fix a minor issue. We would recommend the so location without reservation.

Donnie and Ellie are the most gracious hosts. Their home is a in a beautiful country setting. I had everything needed for a comfotable stay. After exploring Inverness I also explored Black Isle and you cannot miss it it will take you back in time. Highly recomend The Drumsmittal School.for your stay in Iverness.

Conveniently located close to Inverness ( 15 minutes by car - Car necessary to reach the house) but in the countryside. Great view on the fields. No noise : quiet and peaceful nights, we slept like babies. The house is fully equiped. The bedrooms are large. There are 2 bathrooms and plenty of towels. The private parking is just in front of the door.We spent 3 nights there. There are so many things to do and see in the surrondings that we could have stayed longer. Many thanks to our hostess who took good care of us !aandthere us 2 bathroom

This was the most beautiful location in a beautiful country. We had sheep and newborn lambs right outside our windows. It was sparkling clean and even stocked with a few essentials. I just cannot say how lovely it was. Ellie even took us to a local craft fair. Highly recommend this place to stay!!

Our hosts where lovely people who where generous and gracious. The property was clean and well appointed. We wanted for nothing. The neighborhood charming.

We love the location of this home, it enabled us to have short trips to enjoy all of Inverness both downtown and some of the outlying areas. North Kessock was absolutely wonderful. We ate dinner there as well as breakfast and highly recommend both.

Just across the bridge from Inverness, this was a perfect place for a quiet NYE! Lots of space, and a tranquil area.

Hosts were very welcoming and delightful. Accommodations were well appointed. We’ve stayed at many holiday homes and this was by far the best. Hosts greeted us upon arrival and had provided supplies for breakfast to carry us over to the next morning in case we needed it. Would definitely recommend it!

We spent two nights at Drumsmittal School and very literally blown away. The house was very spacious, so there was enough room for 4 people. The two bathrooms were a luxury and the facilities were above average. Ellie and Donnie were wonderful, lovely and humorous hosts. They were very helpful with lots of tips and even stocked the fridge at our arrival with useful food. By far one of the best accommodations we have booked in the past 10 years. If we will ever return to the Highlands within the next few years, we will definitely stay with Ellie and Donnie again! When you made your guests feel like home, you did an outstanding job! Stayed here as our family of three and absolutely loved the property. Donnie and Ellie were available as needed and were very welcoming and open and easy to communicate with. The house made a great place to stay for our trip being convenient to Inverness but also a great base for our day trips out to various parts of the Highlands. It was great to come back to the property at the end of the day and be able to relax eating dinner while watching the sheep graze in the fields around the property, even heard the cows in the field above the sheep! The kitchen had everything we could need and the interior is updated and clean. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Inverness area!

I can’t say enough about this place and the owners. It was a beautiful stay in the countryside but still close to Inverness. The house had amazing views. Ellie and Donnie went above and beyond. I highly recommend this place!

Pleasant and relaxing place to recharge while exploring the area. Washer was appreciated after our week stay in London and Edinburgh.

This transformed school building is amazing and very comfortable. Very quiet farm surroundings not too far from the big city. Donnie and Ellie were wonderful to meet and made sure everything was perfect for our stay.
