Driftwood Island Retreat Spectacular View, Private Waterfront on James Point.

Driftwood Island Retreat has one of the most beautiful locations imaginable. The house itself is lovely. It is wonderfully and comfortably furnished and supplied with fabulous comfy blankets and pillows. The kitchen has every item we could possibly use and much more.

This location is magical and the hosts have put much thought and care into creating a space that provides great comfort and convenience for their guests. A short 20-minute ferry ride from West Seattle and then a 10 minute drive from the Vashon ferry dock, the place is easy to find with the host-provided directions. Mary Ann provided a warm and informative welcome upon arrival, introducing us to the property and its many amenities. The house is perfect for any length of stay, as it is comfortable, spacious and very well-equipped with a new kitchen and open floor plan that turns the kitchen, living and dining room into a great gathering space. In early March we were blessed with unexpectedly pleasant weather - but a beach location like this would be great at any time of year, rain or shine. The kitchen is very updated and thoroughly equipped with all one needs. There are ample linens wherever needed (kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom). There are games galore, as well as DVDs and streaming services. There is also very useful tourist info; the hosts have thought of everything useful and practical! There is a glorious outdoor patio space; we even hung out there in the March weather. We watched boats daily and delighted in watching two eagles from a nest just a short way down the beach. The great-grandma in our group easily managed the one step up the porch to get into the place. The queen bed was too high for her, but the twin perfect. We plan to go again!

Beautiful location on a peaceful point with amazing water views and relaxing accommodations for a weekend getaway with our family with young kids. Beach play and games inside were all a hit with them. Plenty of accommodations for cooking in kitchen as well. Mary Ann was very hospitable and a great communicator upon arrival. Would love to make this place a regular stop for our family.

A truly special place. Private and wonderful. Well-managed and well-outfitted. We were lucky to stay on a hot sunny summer weekend and the Sound breezes felt so good. Paddleboarded in the little protected bay just north of the house with our inflatable boards. Lovely sand and gravel beach out front is good for hunting agates or just lounging along the sun-warmed driftwood and watching the pretty view.

Absolutely perfect! This charming home and stunning location could not be more beautiful. We feel so lucky to have stayed there.

This is by far one of our favorite places we have stayed as a family! The location is hard to beat. It is stunning. The house was so clean and had everything we needed. Our kids loved the beach toys and we all enjoyed watching bald eagles, seals and dolphins from the beach. The host was wonderful with great communication, was very accommodating and welcoming. We were sad when when had to leave and hope to come back again and stay longer!

Very private with a great waterfront. Felt secluded even though you’re less than 10 mins from town. Fantastic place if you’re looking for a quiet getaway to unwind. Kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking gear you need. Only thing missing was a hot tub, but a wonderful stay for sure!

Enjoyed the eagles and their nest, the sand dollars on the beach and watching the passing barges.Also, a big plus: the kitchen is well stocked.Thanks, Maryann and Warren, for the great stay and we look forward to seeing you next year.

Our stay at Driftwood was everything we wanted and needed. Mary Ann made our entire experience, from booking to check out, seamless and enjoyable. The house has everything you need and it feels like quality the moment you come onto the property. My Besty even LOVED the thoughtful touch of bowls by the beds for jewelry and such!We hope & pray we're able to return soon!

Stunning definition of the word cozy! The location is beyond amazing-- the cabin reminded me of my Gramps' cabin in Colorado, but with every single detail already considered. The beds were fine, kitchen fantastic, the wrap-around, covered porch great--- and this arm of Puget Sound was in our front yard! The Pacific Northwest's atmospheric river was there for the whole time, but we were safe and warm and had lots of windows to view the interesting ship traffic from south to north in the Sound. HUGE shells on the little beach when the rain let up! Saw several big sea lions on purposeful journeys, and I am sure some orca went by, but we missed them. Vashon Island is paradise to me---we could not have been happier. Thanks so much, Mary Ann!

This was an excellent place to stay. We stayed in the winter and it was fantastic. I can only imagine how wonderful it is in the summer.

Peaceful, scenic, all we needed. The hosts are awesome - available if you need them, otherwise they leave you to enjoy. The house is well equipped and comfortable, off the main roads a bit, but that is part of the charm.

This was such a beautiful home and even better location. The house had everything we needed and the view from every window brings the outside, into the hone. We found it so peaceful, and Mary Ann was an amazing host.

Maryann is the best owner I ever meet on VRBO its not one thing that you will not find in her home, its so welcoming, u name it and its there, even fuzzy socks for a cold night. Amazing! This was the best VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. The place had everything you needed and great amenities (even rubber boots for walking on the beach) and a fully equipped kitchen. The view is amazing, what a peaceful place to relax. We will definitely stay here again.

This property was wonderfully cozy and picturesque. It was well equipped and the setting was beautiful. We stayed there for two nights for our son's wedding at a venue about 10 minutes away, so we didn't have much of a chance to enjoy the home or the outdoors since we were gone most of the time. We would love to come back for a longer stay.

The location is perfect, quiet and right on the water. Beach with plenty of sand and treasures brought in by the tide. Geese every evening, nesting boxes on the pier, crows and seagulls and cormorants. The house is lovely and comfortable and well stocked for cooking your own meals, plenty of towels and sand toys. A great place to set out and explore from, and come back to. Overall, I can’t imagine there’s a better place to stay on the island and I hope we can come back soon!
