Nestled on the waterfront in central Coles Bay township, Driftwood is one of the few properties where you are surrounded by trees and birdlife, and yet only a short stroll to restaurants, cafes, shops, kayaks, and Wineglass Bay Cruises.

Access to the secluded little cove and rocky foreshore are immediately in front of the property.

This architecturally designed home was built by its owners to enjoy the best of Coles Bay in contemporary comfort and style. Floor to ceiling windowsslide open on both sides of the living area.

When you step out onto the front patio area, take a glass of wine, and watch the ocean and late afternoon sun changing the colours across the Hazards Mountain range. Step out through the back sliding doors and you are in a sun-drenched, private entertainment courtyard, with BBQ. Being one of the old original town blocks, it then extends as lawn and into bush with mature trees, giving you space, and letting you simply sit, relax, and take in the sounds of the sea, birds, and nature.

In keeping with its outstanding location, is its design and fit out. Easy living at its best, the fully fitted-out kitchen includes expresso machine and purified tap water and features a large granite island bench that opens to the living area and fireplace (May to Sept only).

Made for all seasons, start your day with an early morning swim at Muirs Beach, just a short walk away, and rinse off the salt and sand under the outdoor hot shower. In winter pull on your beanie and join the Coles Bay coastal walk that goes past the driveway. Or grab a book and cuppa and curl up on the massive window box in the master bedroom that faces the ocean and Hazards. Reverse cycle and wall panel heating, plus underfloor heating in each bathroom creates instant comfort while the wood heater (fireplace can only be used from May to September) is there for relaxed long winter evenings.

Driftwood features original well-known Tasmanian artwork throughout and has two bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed and own ensuite bathroom, so the house comfortably accommodates 2 couples.

A dedicated EV (Electric Vehicle) charging station is also available to guests.

Modern and easy it was built specifically to aid those with limited mobility – with a completely flat entrance and no internal steps. A perfect place for couples, families, and friends

The property is in a wonderful location with beautiful views of the Hazards and walking distance from all town amenities. So peaceful! Loved watching the birds and rabbits in the large garden. Swimming in a cove nearby. The property was clean and warm, with modern facilities and staples in the kitchen and laundry. Easy self check in and out. Loved it!

The house was clean and tidy with plenty of space for my husband and I to share with a friend. Convenient spot between Muir's beach and the shops in Cole's Bay and easy access to the Freycinet walks. Our only quibble was in the details for checking in. These are provided only 10 minutes before check in - not normal practice for most properties. Maybe the property managers could make this clear.

Our 3 night stay at Driftwood was very pleasant. The house was modern and very clean. Nice yard. Great location. Across from the water but the shoreline is boulders not sand, still beautiful though. The house is designed to take advantage of the spectacular views. We did not want to leave.

A beautiful property, inside and out. Plenty of space for everyone. Great bathrooms and amazing picture window in main bedroom, framing the garden looking towards the bay. Fantastic location, nice and peaceful, close to everything in Coles Bay

Our stay in Coles bay was marred by our experience with the holiday rental company. Freycinet Holiday Houses claim to be customer focused, this was not our experience. Having rented round the world and been in the holiday rental business for over 30 years I have never encountered an organisation so dedicated to procedures at the expense of customer service It got the holiday off to a bad start the holiday rental business is about creating value for the customer, This does not appear to be not part of Freycinet Holiday Houses philosophy We found our experience to be clinical, procedural and driven by profit (Having paid thousands of Dollars for the rental the company requested a sum for beach towel rental) at the expense of customer service The property was as described and satisfactory for the price

The house is very well situated for the Wineglass Bay walk and other tourist attractions in the area. The gardens were lovely and we enjoyed watching all the different birds as they visited. The deck is a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and admire the view of the Hazards and the water below. The house was warm and comfortable and very clean. We really enjoyed our short but sweet stay and would definitely stay there again.
