Down Time at Stop 2 - North Star Properties

I'll start with the good - the location was just fine. I loved the proximity to the beach access (with the platform walkway!). The AC also worked exceptionally well! The layout of the house was functional for 3 people.For the not so good - the front door lock didn't work so we used the back door (instead of having to deal with someone fixing it on our vacation). All of the bath towels were folded and put away while they were still quite wet (not even just damp). We had to rewash and dry all of the towels on our first day there. There were spiderwebs with bugs in them by the range hood. And generally, the house was just due for a good deep clean. Additionally, the hot water randomly goes to cold for 2-3 minutes while you're showering. We weren't able to figure out why, so prepare to be blasted with cold water in the middle of your shower (give it a minute or so and the hot water will come back). You'll also lose hot water during your shower if anyone flushes a toilet or uses a sink elsewhere (but that is more expected). Overall, if you're looking to spend most of your time at the beach then this house is a decent option.

Location was good, and property was overall as described on the internet. While kitchen was equipped, there were not enough hand towels or washcloths in the house even for our small group of 3. Even when I made the management company aware of it, they did not deliver additional linens. There were no extra pillows or blankets either, which was disappointing. There was also damp laundry left in the washer (perhaps by the cleaning crew?) I discovered it when I needed to do a small load - and opened the washer to the soured wet bedspread... Not our best VRBO experience.

The property location was great but the house was dirty. There were a lot of bugs, a trash bag on the porch, a lot of dust including a thick layer on the ceiling fans. I cleaned the one above the master bed so dust would not fall down on us while sleeping. I contacted the manager for the code and questions prior which were answered but after questions were not answered.

Great house just as described. Convenient to beach. Lovely neighborhood. The only problem was that it was the day before we were to arrive, and the property manager hadn't contacted me about how to check in. I had to text her to get the details. I thought it said somewhere that I would get the details 2-3 days before arrival. I didn't feel comfortable having to contact her myself. However, I got the info, and we were able to check in. I would've preferred that she contacted us earlier though.

Fairly close walk to the beach. House worked for 5 people, 2 of which were children. Beach was very nice! Too bad not a local grocery, deli, and ice cream shop near the Sheridan Beach area.

Very nice place. I like to spend my family vacation in Michigan city. and this time was very cozy house very comfortable and location was very good thank you landlords for this comfortable home. And thank you God for nice ,warm ,sunny weather!

We appreciated the great appliances since we wanted to eat in because of the pandemic. Top notch amenities and so comfortable. Short walk to the beach and loved the front porch! Monica responded promptly and we had no issues.

The house is really nicely beach theme decorated. Everything was well thought through as far as amenities.
