You can't get more oceanfront than this dog friendly home with breathtaking ocean views from every level.

Enjoy the convenience of a prime location with plenty to do just steps from your door. Within easy walking distance, you'll find a playground and skate park—perfect for family fun and outdoor activity—as well as a convenient store for any last-minute essentials. Grab a quick bite from a nearby food truck or take a short stroll to explore the rich local history at the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station, one of the area's most unique and historic attractions. Everything you need for a relaxing and memorable stay is right at your fingertips.

Inside as the rest of your group wakes up and starts preparing breakfast. You've got a full suite of appliances, ample counter space, and all the quality cookware and gadgets you need to make a quick breakfast or a full buffet. When it's time to eat, grab a seat at one of the two dining tables or the breakfast bar inside, or step out those double doors and sit on the upper deck with the salty breeze in your hair. Stow the dishes in the dishwasher and head out to explore charming Hatteras Island or make your way to the beach for a lazy day on the sand.

In the evening, the top-level great room offers a comfortable seating area, a large TV with cable, and ample space for everyone to relax, build a puzzle, or play one of the many games available. On the first floor, you'll find all four bedrooms. The main suite, the Captain's Room, offers ocean views from your King bed, a TV, your own slider to the lower deck and a connecting bathroom shared with the second ocean view room, the Skipper's Room, featuring a Queen bed, flatscreen TV, and your own deck access. Additionally, the other Skipper's Room features a comfy Queen bed with beach sandpiper decor. Lastly, the final bedroom, the Pirate's Room, offers a pair of twin beds in a Pirate-themed bedroom with a flatscreen TV. As you settle in for the night, end the day as you began, on either of your oceanfront decks, watching the stars appear over the ocean. Don't stay up too late though - you don't want to miss that sunrise.

Things To Know:
As part of the natural beauty of the Outer Banks, seasonal coastal weather can occasionally bring higher ocean levels. Because the home enjoys a prime oceanfront setting, there may be times when over wash of water and sand reaches the driveway during certain weather conditions. For added convenience and peace of mind, we recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle during this time of year.

Community Pool Information:
Guests have access to the Club Hatteras in the middle of Avon, close to restaurants and shopping. Club Hatteras offers a full range of family-friendly amenities, including a junior Olympic–sized swimming pool, a separate kiddie pool, comfortable cabanas, and convenient shower facilities. Guests can also enjoy well-maintained tennis courts, a fun playground, and a picnic area complete with a park-style charcoal grill—perfect for outdoor gatherings. Club Hatteras is located at 41156 North Carolina Highway 12, Avon, NC 27915. The pool is generally open from May 24 to September 8, from 10 AM to 6 PM. Please note that the operation of community pools is subject to the discretion of the state inspector, management, and/or the HOA. As a result, the availability schedule may change without prior notice.

Note: You might notice a non-recording camera on the far north corner of the oceanfront deck. This camera faces the surf and is for the owner to monitor the tides.

Bottom line up front: awesome house, terrible host company (Vacasa) that nickels and dimes you.The house is a great spot, room setups are great, porch is awesome, direct private access to the beach. The downside: Vacasa is a pain. Not enough towels in the home. One dish rag. No spqre trash bags, no trash bags in the bathrooms for small trash cans. Soap/shampoo/conditioner are all completely empty. What bath towels they do have are comically small. Floors were still pretty dirty with sand and dust. Also their customer service line is not American, which is frustrating, since they have to patch questions through to their onsite person, so very slow response and telephone game answers. If you’re booking this house, bring your own trash bags. Bring your own bath towels. Don’t expect soap and shampoo (even though it’s in VRBO’s terms and conditions). Bring your own vacuum. Bring your own dishwasher detergent.

This house has it all - beautiful oceanfront views, large decks, love the furnishings, and we already booked for next year (will be third year in a row)! Definitely deserves 5 stars. Rental company is the best I’ve ever dealt with. Everything made for a great vacation!

We loved the location of the home, and the views were beautiful! Perfect size for our family of 6, and it was also a nice surprise to have a treasure box full of toys for our kids to enjoy! Giving 4 stars and not 5 only because we arrived to a broken ac unit on the first floor, and the second floor unit was dripping down the wall onto the couch. So that was a little inconvenient and disappointing, but overall we enjoyed our time at Still Waters!

Perfect location and amenities. The house had all of the amenities you need for a beach house and it is right on the beach with no fuzz or walk. The downstairs A/C was not working, but the property team was responsive and provided timely responses alternatives to get it fixed.

Our week stay at Stillwater’s was in celebration of a 70th birthday. If we die tonight, we and our 2 Border Collies will have had the best last week of our lives. The upstairs and downstairs decks, and large sliding doors in the living/dining area, as well as the 2 largest bedrooms with large sliding doors, offered an unobstructed view of the sea. The home is warm and inviting and was immaculate upon arrival, equipped with everything we needed. The owners must have well researched the best materials and cloth for pets because cleanup was easy when it was time to leave. Vacasa did a great job in communicating about checkin and checkout. We had the seashore to ourselves during a sun-filled week when dolphin surfed and came up out of the water every day. The only thing we had not read about in the reviews that might be helpful for some people less ambulatory is the fact of 3 1/2 flights of steps from the driveway to the fridge. This home is truly a special gem; one of the best slices of heaven on earth!

Could not have asked for a cozier place to stay. My husband and I went for 4 nights/5 days for our anniversary. The view was spectacular. Still Waters has everything you could possibly need! Hope to be back soon!

Very comfortable home right on the beach. Thoughtfully decorated, well stocked kitchen (appliances, utensils, dishware, glassware), a wonderful retreat. House was clean and ready upon arrival. We very much enjoyed our time here and appreciate the owners opening their home to fellow beachlovers. Thank you

We really enjoyed our beach getaway at Still Waters. The view can't be beat and there was lots of room for all of us to play games, eat meals, and relax. We loved having the ocean steps away!

Our family loved staying at this house. A lovely older house with lots of charm. We loved hanging on the upper deck and watching the ocean and all the surfers. The poop deck always made us giggle, perfect name for it! My family also loved the easy short walk to the beach and being dog friendly. An amazing place to stay to enjoy OBX, and surrounding areas.

The location of the home was perfect. The house was clean and exactly as pictured. The owners have left a lot of toys/coloring books/ and things of that nature for smaller children as well as outside toys for sand castles and a swing. The beds were very comfortable and the house had basically everything we needed! We would definitely return.

Our family LOVED our stay. It was quiet, except for the sound of the surf, which was heaven and the neighbors we quiet and friendly. This location was exactly as shown in the listing. The beds were very comfortable. We don’t care for eating out and this place had a well stocked kitchen. We had everything we needed to cook whatever we wanted. We have been looking for a beach vacation area that is not crowded with amusements and “tourist trap” areas. We just wanted peace, quiet, the beach/ocean, and time to spend with each other. This was it!! We all fell in love with OBX (including our doggie). New vacation spot located. ?
