The stunning coast of Yachats is right outside your door at this oceanfront escape, a dog-friendly home with a hot tub, a deck with spectacular ocean views, and easy walking access to the beach, hiking trails, tide pools, and shops and galleries downtown.
This two-level, oceanfront home is stunningly situated one mile north of central Yachats, right alongside the gorgeous 804 Trail for long coastal walks and quick excursions into town. Follow the path to the beach to search for sand dollars and other ocean treasures, wander just down the Oregon Coast Highway to peruse the pieces at Earthworks Gallery and Bob Keller Photo/Wave Gallery, and spend a day admiring the incredible views from Cape Perpetua four miles south. Beach toys, kites, and even a croquet set are all provided for your use.
The great room is an open, light-filled space, where large picture windows frame beautiful views of the ocean surf. Light the gas fireplace on crisp coastal mornings, use the stainless steel appliances and waffle iron to prepare breakfast in the kitchen (with a dishwasher), and peer through the telescope to watch for passing whales. The small, enclosed side yard is accessible from both floors, and the hot tub is a lovely place to soak up the ocean view on a lightly traveled country road. Light the gas grill for dinner and catch unforgettable sunsets on the ocean-facing deck. Should a sudden storm move in, you can curl up with your dog (please note that a nightly fee applies), the free WiFi, a board game, or a movie to watch on the flatscreen TV and DVD/Blu-ray player.

The views are wonderful! The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a feast. Beds are comfortable. Easy access to walking paths. Quiet neighborhood.
This was our second weeknight stay--we love this place for the comfort, quiet, ocean view, hot tub, and very easy beach/trail/town access. Everything is in good repair, the kitchen is well outfitted, the beds are comfortable, and there is no mildew at all.
We loved the proximity to the coastal trail and the beach because we like to take the dogs out a half dozen times a day without hauling them in a car. The house is spacious and well stocked and the view of the ocean is amazing! It was just myself and my husband with our 2 dogs and we enjoyed the big entryway to clean off the boys and kennel them to dry. Oh and did I mention the location?! We'll be back!
We've stayed at the Soaring Seabird once before and knew what a special place it is. This time we returned with two other couples and they raved about it as well. The setting is amazing...beautiful views of the ocean waves and right between a 7 mile long beach and the 804 Trail which skirts the basalt cliffs with tide pools and tall, crashing waves. It's on a quiet, gravel road. Since the view is best from the upper level, that's where the living room, dining area, and kitchen are. The 3 bedrooms are at the entry level. It's a very comfortable home.
Great location. Sights of the ocean great and the 100 yards to the beach was enjoyable and short!! House is homey and very comfortable to have children there. Things a little dated but that made it more friendly to have the grandkids there. My Grandbabies loved the special little room that was all made up for them. Thank you for sharing the house with us.
Great walking distance to the beach. Nice home with beautiful views of the ocean.
Our adult family of five loved this house. It is gorgeous. The kitchen and living room are upstairs and the bedrooms are downstairs—the open space upstairs is surrounded by windows and feels like being in a tree house looking out over the ocean. The bedrooms were peaceful and comfortable. The aesthetic overall is serene and tasteful. The kitchen is well stocked and organized. The hot tub was fun. The house is spacious. We loved going out the the beach just in front. There is a grocery store a quick drive down the road and this house is close to whale watching in Depoe Bay and looking at tide pools on Cape Perpetua.
Amazing view, spacious, and well outfitted.
Pros: Excellent location with easy access to miles of sandy beach and lots of coastal trails. The house was clean and equipped with all the necessities. Very spacious house with lots of room for a big family of several small families. We did not bring our dog, but this house was pet friendly. They had clear instructions on everything. Amazing views from upper deck and from jacuzzi on the ground level. Lots of books and games. Cons: this house is pretty dated . Some furniture looked very old and stained. We felt like for the price payed we could have a newer house with modern features. Just FYI the main living area and kitchen are upstairs so if you have groceries you’d have to carry those upstairs, which didn’t bother us at all. Check out time was 10am. It makes me annoyed when rental companies push their check in to the latest time and check out to the earliest… they refused late check out ( in a very quick and polite manner) due to necessity to clean the house, but at the same time mentioned a possibility of late check out for additional charge. There were too many texts from VRBO/keepers before, during and after our stay. I wish we received instructions in one text and were done texting until check out. Overall a great property with great potential. We like staying with VRBO in general. They have very detailed easy instructions and easy communication and easy payment process. Also, this particular property was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper on VRBO than anywhere else. Check them out!
I can't say enough wonderful things about this property. Location is incredible. Forest, beach and 804 trail are fantastic. Home was super clean and had everything we needed and more. Would love to come back here!
It was a very nice stay and the home worked well for us. The living room area was small but with enough seating that provided good space for conservation. The 2 chairs by the window are very hard though, and the lucky ones got to the sofa first! Very clean and well equipped. This home allows pets, which we did not have with us but met our needs so we knew this was a pet home. Two of the four of us felt their allergies were exacerbated by previous pet stays. There was an issue with the Wi-Fi one night which was nobody’s fault and we think issue was with the ISP, but Vacacasa was super responsive, by email and text both. 10/10 for sure in customer care. Because of the two with allergies, not sure we’d go back, but that would be the only reason. I’d go back! It does have a flight of stairs like the description says. Not a problem for any of us. To keep the kitchen faucet from a constant drip there is a very fine sweet spot. Probably needs looked at. Also, the fridge needs an extra nudge to close all the way. Al in all, this was a great place for our three nights and met our expectations. Thank you!
Cool upside down house overlooking the water & super close to the nearby trail. Unfortunately the furniture & bedding & carpet is all very dated, which led to the place feeling quite unclean. I would stay again if these issues were addressed.
Great view, easy access to the 804 trail. Very well-equipped kitchen. We loved our stay.
Ocean view and sound. Whale spouts viewed from the deck. We miss the Oregon coast already.
This house was lovely. Except the hot tub wasn't hot when we checked in and the controls weren't working. It took 4 phone calls and over 24 hours for someone to come fix it.
Perfect home, great views had everything we needed would definitely stay again!
Of course, the sunset views are incredible and on top of that we found everything we needed for a comfortable stay with family. Spent many hours playing games togther at the high table and had lovely meals outside on the spacious deck. Beds were comfortable and the kids loved the cute twin bedded room. Great place for a family retreat!
Convenient, comfortable, clean, cozy home that was very warm and welcoming. Our entire family loved everything about it. Great place to stay!!
First thing was that the place was immaculately clean! The rugs were plush and kitchen utensils and appliances were in good shape and plenty of them. The hot tub was already hot and ready to use which is rare! Plenty of towels and hand soap at every sink. A small but fully fenced yard made after breakfast outings with our dog worry free. Low fence so we still kept an eye on him. Bring your own DVD player as there is no cable. Not a problem for us since we did, so we had plenty to watch. The short trail to the beach was well groomed and easy to walk until it transitions to the beach. There is a nice ramp without much slope and good hand rails that leads to a staircase which also has nice handrails but... at the bottom of the stairs there are a bunch of rocks ranging from watermelon to baseball in size that have to be walked over to get to the sand. I saw a couple older folks turn around when the saw it. They never made it to the beach. Keep that in mind. My puppy had no problem and I managed it with considerable effort. I would definitely stay here again if I were to visit relatively soon. In ten years... Sadly I would pass.
Overall this was a nice property. The view of the ocean from the living area was amazing, which was good since Oregon did its thing and when it was rainy we could still watch the fascinating waves and tides. The kitchen had plenty of dishes and was decently equipped for various types of cooking, and the beds were comfy. The hot tub was nice, though when it is very rainy it does drip heavily through the deck onto the hot tub. When we were there the fireplace wouldn't work, which was unfortunately because it would have been quite cozy on the colder days. Overall, I would go here again- the view, cleanliness and access to beach and the Oregon trail are well worth it.
